Okay so, I have heard many rumors. They go nowhere. They are forgotten. They are reincarnated. Which are true? Im very confused and only on the second warrior series. I need a final answer... So far, I think that when they die another time, they are reincarnated, but without memory of their previous life, when wandering around. A living thing can not feel or smell them, and they do not affect the world. But sometimes, VERY Rarely, they feel a faded cats presence and they live in peace with the stars. Can someone tell me if thats true or what is true? Im very confused.

Reincarnation if they were popular. Otherwise, they cease to exist.

I like the idea of reincarnation, but I also like the idea that they become part of a cycle of pure energy from where prophecies come from, and where cats can be reincarnated from as well. I also choose not to believe Vicky considering A) her retcons to the series and The fact that she hates happy endings. I'm sure the other authors have differing thoughts on this.

Reincarnation. But my sister’s friend has a theory that they just become particles floating around in space and time. But if a cat has a certain power (which my sister’s friend OC has) the particles become whole again, and on an occasion, bring them back to life.

There is no finial answer because we just don't know. It is up to you to decide what you think happens to them. For me the cats that die cross over something like the "Rainbow Bridge" and wait for their loved ones (humans for kitty pets) to cross over and then when they are not needed any more (after the humans arrives for kitty pets) they cross into another plane in which they stay forever. I think some cats may be reincarnated. Like I said it is up to you as to what the finial answer is to you.

Time to make use of copy/paste. This is from a previous post that sums up my personal theory. It does involve reincarnation, however, it's not completely sunshine and rainbows, becuase the spirit's former identity is completely forgotten, with no chance of remembering it. So it becomes a completely separate personality each time:

Sadly, they probably end up in the same place as all the copies of the Star Wars Holiday Special, the missing 18.5 minutes of the Watergate tapes, Jimmy Hoffa, and the starting line up of the 1985 New England Patriots.
Seriously, had the authors and editors said they turned into statues on Easter island when they faded and I woke up suddenly with my head sewn to the carpet, I could not be more surprised. Lazy, lazy, lazy, lazy, la-a-a-a-a-a-a-zy writing. All so they didn’t have to deal with the Spottedleaf/Firestar in Star Clan at the same time. Seriously, in what mythology/religion does this happen? Yes, by The Last Hope, the connection back to the original arc is tenuous, but still, the total retconning and disregard to previous lore and consistency they established is just bewildering.
Personally, I like the mysterious Star Clan of the original arc, where we get glimpses but nothing more until the Nine lives ceremony and Firestar loosing his first life. That’s all we ever need to know and all they ever have to interact with the real world. Everything beyond that just turns it into bad Greek/Roman mythology. What’s next? Someone from Star Clan having kits with a living cat? They’ve trained together and fought and killed across the divide. What can’t they do?
My apologies for the rant. I miss the original arc characters and story lines. Happy Father’s Day!

I always like to imagine the StarClan cats going to a greater cat heaven, even greater than StarClan.
