Cloudmint’s wave is the first to strike, Cloudmint eagerly pouncing on the IvyClan deputy with rage blazing within her eyes. All cats of the first wave fare somewhat well, other than several injuries, however just as IvyClan reinforcements arrive. Onestar’s wave strikes, sending sudden fear into the hearts of those that are already fighting AppleClan warriors, and giving the meager reinforcements time to pause. An IvyClan apprentice is sent back to warn those in the camp, Chervilgaze orders Longpaw to intercept the apprentice, the last thing they need is more reinforcements right now. Despite the interception, it seems word was given to the rest of IvyClan by the prior reinforcements as the IvyClan leader Races towards the triumphant AppleClan cats. The tides have certainly turned for the AppleClan cats, Flowerpaw and Bumblefang are killed in the battle, Onestar loses two lives. The IvyClan leader certainly make a valid point when Stormfrost’s body is thrown in the direction of AppleClan territory, after the AppleClan deputy had been slain by said leader. It is StarClan’s will that no one else dies later that day. Mothwings is made deputy, and the remaining warriors must linger on the amount of death. A pack of dogs are let loose, an AppleClan patrol is attacked. Blacksky And Firepaw are found dead at the scene. Puddlefuf is badly injured when found and nearly falls out of the tree he had climbed. Patchpaw also escaped the dogs with her mentor, however she is not as lucky. She passes away during the night from her injuries. Palestar asks Specklestrike to be deputy as Silverkit can be looked after by Sweetsun. Specklestrike reluctantly agrees. Leader: Palestar - A white she-cat with pale grey dappled patches. There is drama as IvyClan has catmint but hesitate to give some away due to the recent battle. Instead, the two make a deal. Catmint in exchange for comfrey, which AppleClan has in abundance. While there is tension, the deal is made.

Honeyfur rapidly gets worse once more, although she is the only cat who deteriorates again. On her deathbed, requests for any living kin to see her. With her siblings, kits, and grandkits gathered around, she reveals a secret - Blacksky, having told nobody but herself, had hidden a secret trove of wonderful knowledge and treasure somewhere in the forest or beyond. Any cat who finds the trove is allowed to claim the knowledge and treasure for their Clan. However, no violence or teaming up beyond four or five cats is allowed. Blacksky left a short clue in the form of a poem behind:
A mountain stream's shall where you start
And near the pine is where you depart
Keep going till you find the blaze
Then fight inside a badger's maze
Fight the hounds in the dark
And let claws against white quartz spark
When hares and holes scurry amock
A Twoleg's heart you shall unlock
