As the Clan had expected, Rootstar returns with a surprisingly small number of rogues, evidently they were not fond of his previous leadership. Rootstar himself looks worse for wear, his pelt ungroomed and slightly scarred from recent battles among the rogues and other Clan cats. Rootstar intends to take back his position as he is the “rightful leader,” Ashstar refuses his claim saying that the former Clan leader had gone mad. A fight soon erupts amongst the Clan’s territory and partial camp territory. Ashstar loses a life in battle to Rootstar’s own claws, but he is intercepted by his first love. Swanshadow is evidentially distraught both at Rootstar’s previous betrayals of Swanshadow and the Clan, but also the recent murder of their son, Thornpaw. It is this fury that fuels Swanshadow to pounce and fight with the former leader in an almost savage manner that only strong emotions can bring about. Ashstar awakens from the loss of her first life to find Rootstar fallen, and Swanshadow trembling above the fallen tom, a large gash is present in the gray tom’s throat. Rootstar doesn’t move for several long moments, long enough for both cats to realize that his last life was taken from him. Swanshadow turns his head to Ashstar and manages to mutter something, the only part the tortoishell catches is “he went mad,” before Swanshadow’s eyes glaze over and he falls to the ground, dead. Swanshadow was not the only causality amongst the Clan. Feintpaw had died in the fray, as did Swagger who died saving her remaining kit, Growlpaw. With a medicine cat being in the Clan once more, many cats are saved from even the most minor wounds, and with a heavy heart, Ashstar names Echowind her new deputy. Technically Swanshadow was Rootstar's second love, as Tansyheart was his mate first, but riveting nonetheless. RIP Swanshadow, you sweet Prince. Since Rootstar was mentally I'm sure he was forgiven in StarClan, so may Swanshadow finally find everlasting peace with his mate </3 ))

Nah, they were mad into each other. I pictured it as a kind of Bluestar-Oakheart/Yellowfang-Raggedstar thing without the mental and emotional abuse. If Tansyheart didn't leave he would of still been her mate, and even though he moved on I still like to think she always carried a piece of his heart... Doesn't make what he and Swanshadow had matter any less though! He was a very loving mate to both his partners... 'was' he he ))
Ashstar and Tansyheart go see StarClan about receiving her full lives, but StarClan relays something about mysterious ways blah blah blah fate and destiny blah blah and says that although the debt has been repaid by killing Rootstar nothing could be done about her missing lives. Ashstar accepts this but is not too thrilled about it.

Ooooooooooooooh you meant Clan Names as in CLAN NAMES here I am confused because i thought you meant the cats all needed clan names. *facepalm* the case of the 3:44 in the mornings has caught up to me. AppleClan is a good one, anyone have another in mind? |

(Also the feud with Volepounce’s kits ended up not mattering since the other she-Cat carrying his kits died.
And then all of Ashstar’s kits died because of Rootstar and rogues.)

(The medicine cat already had an apprentice, hmmm... So I’m uncertain if Applestar was first leader of said Clan.
And from we know this place has had several fires, and a large Two-leg Place nearby. Along with various birds of prey, and can also House other beasts.)
