You pad through the thick forest, looking up at the canopy as green branches compete for light. Birds call to each other. The path you are following looks well worn, but you still question if you are going the right way. The directions to this clan were a bit vague.
As you pad through the forest, the scent of another cat kits your nose. Before you can react, a cat leaps out in front of you. She has grey tabby fur and a thrush clasped in her jaws. As she notices you a few fox legths away, she carefully drops the thrush, looking you up and down warely. Scars line this tall she cats coat, as if she has defended this clan from cats that sought to hurt the precious kits brave and strong cats could adopt.
“I am Nettlestar.” The she cat mews, green eyes meeting yours. “Are you here to adopt a kit?”
Shelterclan is a secluded clan in the middle of a lush forest where orphan kits are brought to be protected and eventually adopted. The clan is inside a thicked of brambles that opens up into a clearing. On the left are the dens where the adult clan cats that care for the kits and the visiters stay. On the left is a den that smells of milk and moss, where the kits dwell.
The leader
Nettlestar is a grey tabby cat with silvery green eyes that founded Shelterclan a long time ago. It is thought that she went through a hard kithood, though this stern she cat doesn’t give away secrets easily. She is a strong leader, and does everything she can to make this the perfect place for neglected kits. She is often off finding kits that need to be brought to Shelterclan, but spends as much time in the clan as she can.
The helpers.
Instead of warriors, Shelterclan has helpers. The helpers of Shelterclan have many jobs, hunting, patrolling, and caring for the kits. The ones that visiters are most likely to see are…
Robinpatch: Robinpatch is a softspoken brown tom with a white belly and amber eyes. He is a kind and compasionate tom, who’s main duties are hunting and looking after the kits.
Hiddenpoppy: Hiddenpoppy is a light ginger she cat with yellow eyes. She’s a small cat that is shy and awkward. She loves kits and dedicates every moment looking after them.
The kits
Mistkit: Mistkit is a blueish grey she cat with dark grey ears, tabby marking on her legs, lower back, and tail. This cat is a harsh, stone cold kit. She has pearcing yellow eyes. She is hesitant to show emotion, and only shows it to cats she really loves. Getting any sort of rise out of this kit can be difficult.
Stonekit: Stonekit is a grey tom with a ruff of lighter grey fur around his neck and light grey paws. He has grass green eyes. This kit is a cocky, loud tom. He thinks he’s going to become the best warrior in history. His mother filled his ears with promises of glory before abandoning him to the care of the shelter.
Fennelkit: Cream she cat with white underbelly streaching up to her chin and a white tail tip. She came to the group when her twolegs abandonned her. She still has the personality of a kittypet, and enjoys lazing in the sun and gets confused by the other kits more vicious natures.
Gingerkit: Gingerkit is a large torteshell she cat with mainly red markings. The only bit of white on her is on her paws, and has dark stripes running down her tail. Gingerkit is a kit that is constantly laughing and talking, but she is also constantly guarded. She is mature for her age, but doesn’t have some things figuered out yet.
Elmkit: Elmkit is a brown tom with amber eyes. He is a small, friendly tom. He was brought to the shelter at a young age, so he is very well adjusted. He is the kit that comes up to the visiters of the shelter and strikes up a conversation.
Whitekit: Whitekit is a pure white she-kit with pale yellow eyes. Shes a soft spoken, kind cat, and has just recently joined the shelter with her sister, Stripekit. There parents were loners, and ended up roaming out of the sisters lives.
Stripekit: Stripekit is a large she kit with dark grey stripes running down her face and back a light silver pelt. Stripekit is a quiet, but spirited young cat. She loves trainign to fight, and wants to venture outside the walls of the shelter. She is still quiet young and has a lot of time left, even if she doesn’t think so.
