We know Tigerheart was apparently spying on the DF, but was he even reporting to anyone? No one seemed to know about it, so either Tigerheart was indeed spying but on his own terms for some reason, he was lying about spying for some reason, or someone in ShadowClan did know about it and just didn't say anything for some reason.
This is why I don't like analyzing OotS too much.

Pretty sure he was spying on his own terms. I think he just wanted to know what they were up to in order to prepare to defend his Clan.

i think he kept his intentions on the dl because he didn't know who to trust at the time. and if he told blackstar, the DF warriors could have spyed on him.

But best guess was either Blackstar or Littlecloud.
Or maybe a Starclan like Yellowfang would occasionally visited him and he'd report it to them instead.

he said "I wanted to know what was going on" so I don't think he was a spy at all. I think he just was there to find out what was up for his own sake. Yeah hes a terrible spy too. At least we don't have to suffer though 3 books of this nonsense. <iframe width="19.120000000000005" height="4.039999999999992" style="position: absolute; width: 19.120000000000005px; height: 4.039999999999992px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_16895695" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.120000000000005" height="4.039999999999992" style="position: absolute; width: 19.12px; height: 4.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 900px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_14049101" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.120000000000005" height="4.039999999999992" style="position: absolute; width: 19.12px; height: 4.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 141px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_1882776" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.120000000000005" height="4.039999999999992" style="position: absolute; width: 19.12px; height: 4.04px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 900px; top: 141px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_45399361" scrolling="no"></iframe> He should have at least reported it to his leader or something..

Judging by the amount of casualties shadowclan had I don't think he did. One more reason to hate tigertsar he didn't even crack under pressure. I didn't even think of that lol I looked at the warriors wikia and it looks like ShadowClan lost the most cats. Yikes... warriors.wikia.com/wiki/The_Great_Battle_(TLH)#Deaths_as_a_result_of_the_battle

ShadowClan's high death count during the Great Battle and its ensuing high fertility rate in the following moons is actually a subtle instance of direct continuity from OOTS into AVOS. The reason they have so many young cats that the veterans can't even control them is because they lost so many of their average-aged warriors in the battle.

That's a correspondence I didn't even consider! And makes sense. I'm not blaming him, but I find it so funny that Tigerheart may have inadvertently helped (in some bizarre way) ShadowClan fall ;p Like I said, I'm just reaching here, and he didn't, but butterfly affect, yo! And to be fair, I think one or two were DF warriors...? The only one I remember being a straight up traitor was Redwillow, though.
