So the Dark Forest cats are constantly trying to get revenge against those who are still alive. But since cats are able to be killed/injured in dreams (Exp. Antpelt/Beetlewisker); why doesn't the Dark Forest cat just visit their target in a dream once and instantly kill them?
Thanks to the Beetlewhisker example, we do know that living cats killed in the DF, ain't trapped there in the afterlife and can still go to Starclan (somehow). We also know, this target just can't be anyone. As it seems that when a cat willingly doesn't want to train in the DF, that does seem to prevent it (Exp. Lionblaze). So Tigerstar can't go killing Firestar in dreams anytime soon, considering his arch-enemy willfully doesn't want to see him. However, that wouldn't stop Tigerstar going to Squirrelkit/Leafkit, who wouldn't of heard of the DF yet and so wouldn't have any mental defenses.
Like when Mapleshade first visited Crookedkit. She could of literally just killed him right there and maybe even to Oakkit as well.
And I do get, it may be more painful to see you're loved one turn evil and be sent to the Dark Forest. However, it take an awful lot of effort and time to do. Only I see a few select cats having the skill/patience to do this. (Exp. Mapleshade). But the majority of Dark Forest cats would probably just take the easy way out and choose to kill in dreams.
So why don't they do this then? Is there something preventing them or is it just an oversight by the Erins?

I think the main thing is preventing them would be being discovered. Remember, regular warriors don't usually attack kits, so they would know something was wrong when a bunch of them suddenly had wounds and didn't wake up from falling asleep. It is noting that even a regular warrior killed by the Dark Forest generated a lot of attention due to how they died (in their sleep with wounds mysteriously appearing). It's shown to be the case with Antpelt. So having kits killed by them would easily get the dark forest exposed, probably by Starclan and the medicine cats.

It would've been fun to see an evil Leafkit or Squirrelkit

I think that there were only a few Dark Forest cats that knew how to walk in the dreams of living cats and bring them to the Dark Forest. I believe that Antbelt body just disappeared when he was killed. I may be wrong.

I believe that Antbelt body just disappeared when he was killed. I may be wrong. When he first died he died from injuries he sustained in the Dark Forest. His Clanmates knew he died because they were trying to stop the bleeding and heal his wounds. His body was still present and probably buried. However his spirit went to the Dark Forest and He was killed again and then his spirit disappeared.

Ligerfrost you are right. I was remembering when he was hurt in Dark Forest and he disappeared from there before he died.

Beetlewhisker is the one who just disappeared - Dovewing listens to them searching everywhere for him after Brokenstar kills him
