Late night topic as I take a little break from my essay, but do you think these two knew each other? And if so, do you think Sol had anything to do with Darktail's attack on SkyClan?

It makes a lot of sense. Sol had a grudge against the Clans like Darktail and he is also a master manipulator. I'd much prefer him being the one to help Darktail over Dodge.

I always thought Sol was the friend Darktail sometimes mentions. Did they actually mention who this was? I can't remember but if not, I want it to be Sol. If they knew each other, there's no question Sol egged Darktail on and made SkyClan his first target. Darktail already hated Clancats and Sol couldn't get even with Skyclan on his own so it makes sense that he'd use Darktail. After all, he knows black-and-white cats are the easied to manipulate!

I often wonder if there is a connection between Sol, Darktail, and Tigerclaw. We know that Sleekwisker is kin to Tigerclaw(his great-great-granddaughter).

I would think since both cats traveled a lot that at some point they had to have met up. I wouldn't doubt that Sol still wants to mess with the clans. But he is an overused "villain" unfortunately, and I did like the refresher we had with Darktail (even though I think it would have made much more sense for Blackstar to be his father)

i kinda forgot what sol's reason was...then i remember its the same as darktails, except sol had no daddy issues
