I'm betting it'll be at least one, maybe two of TigerDove kits, one of FernIvy kits, and... As much as I hate to say it, I have a very bad feeling we'll get a POV of a soon-to-exist AlderVelvet kit.

There's no way AlderVelvet is actually happening. It was introduced specifically to show Alderheart making the decision not to take a mate.

They've made worse decisions and/or ignored what the fans/Kate want. It could happen...unfortunately. The thing is we haven't exactly seen a male medicine cat have kits, just female ones. So if he somehow impregnated Velvet and she leaves to go back, he might just have some random kit out there that he wouldn't know about or have to really deal with. But I still hope it doesn't happen. But then again, why did Velvet even happen to begin with? I guess I'm just not a fan of random characters showing up for one book in a series like that. Especially love interests, like Jessy (shudder)

There's no way AlderVelvet is actually happening. It was introduced specifically to show Alderheart making the decision not to take a mate. I don't have the book on-hand to double-check this, and I may be wrong (I read through it pretty quickly), but I remember that during the scene where Alderheart went to visit Velvet at her Twoleg's house, the story shows them talking for a minute and then kinda fades out of the scene, then jumps to the point where he leaves her. So, not every moment of their last visit was described. I've seen this other places in the series (OakBlue comes to mind), and I think that's how the authors subtly mention cats becoming pregnant. I don't hope they have kits either, and I respect that they took the time to show that Alderheart really wants to be serious about being a medicine cat, but the Erins have a tendency to repeat the same tropes again and again...

If the next series wasn't called "The Broken Code" I would be more convinced that AlderXVelvet wouldn't be a thing.
