So all these threads got me thinking, how would a Mute cat survive in warriors?
First of all, would they be mute at birth, or would it be an inflicted injury when they were a kit? Maybe by a bird, or another cat.
How would they work out in the clans?
Could they be a medicine cat or a warrior?

I read a fanfic that they had a "mute" cat in their Clan. They learned to lip sync (is that the right word?) and found their position as a medicine cat. There were a few words this character was able to say, like "yes" and "no". I thought it was clever, and since Warriors is slightly unrealistic, it's possible a mute cat could survive, as long as they find the perfect position for it.

Cats communicate with other cats mostly by body language, I think the cat would do well as a warrior or any other position in the clan. In real life the only time you hear a cat "talking" to other cats is the hissing and growling or when they are purring to their kits. They usually reserve the meowing for the humans in their lives or when they are excited about pry they are after. Cats uses body language to talk to each other.

Body language, expressions, gestures...that's all I can think of for a mute cat to communicate in the Warrior Cats world.

Mute isn't the same as deaf, even though the two go hand in hand.
It would, for the most part, work out as long as they weren't responsible for any cat. They couldn't have an apprentice

In the series, every single other conversation is "meowed" or "mewed". That being said, being mute isn't really a big obstacle. They might not get information across in detail but that just means that they have to follow the leader and that's not too hard. They'd also be fully capable of avoiding sneak attacks and so on to keep them alive.

Well coming from someone who's actually mute in real life, the cat would ether learn how to lip sync and have to be a medicine cat to make things easier or would use gestures and tail singles to communicate with others. I would say teach them sign language but cats don't have thumbs.

A mute cat would probably be better off as a warrior than a medicine cat, as long as the cat isn’t deaf as well.

I think they would be fine...I mean they can't be on watch duty alone. I don't think it would effect their hunting ability or their ability to patrol. They would do fine as a medicine cat. I mean they might have some trouble training an apprentice (medicine or otherwise)

95% of ThunderClan doesn't talk and they get along just fine
