For a background character, he's surprisingly grown a lot! Now that I think about it, he's done tons and has personality from the others. Between interrupting his own apprentice ceremony, acting as messenger in the DF battle, being part of that terrible fox prank on the DF trainees, his attitude in AVOS (getting Alderheart as an apprentice and being a bit short/impatient, being selected for the patrol to go to the gorge, getting another apprentice that he seemed to have trained well, distrusting SkyClan but learned to cooperate with enemy cats after being chosen for the journey with them), etc. he's actually doing stuff.
Weird how you mentioning it has only just gotten me to notice. More personality than a good portion of the cast we have.

I love how Daisy and her family have more personality and development than most of ThunderClan combined, and this is saying alot since they're either supporting or background characters.
