Hey y'all. I made an account specifically to ask this question, so I apologize if this thread is in the wrong place. Do we know who is on all of the new Owen Richardson covers? Like, which cats? For sure? Some of them I really have no idea...
Here's what I can figure just from my own evaluations.
Into the Wild: Firestar Fire and Ice: Tigerstar Forest of Secrets: Silverstream? Graystripe with green eyes? Rising Storm: Yellowfang A Dangerous Path: Bluestar The Darkest Hour: Firestar
Midnight: Brambleclaw Moonrise: Stormfur? Dawn: Squirrelflight Starlight: Kinda of looks too light to be Crowfeather...Cinderpelt? I have no clue! Twilight: Leafpool Sunset: I'm thinking Firestar but I don't get why it would be him. It wouldn't be Squirrelflight again, would it?
The Sight: Jayfeather Dark River: Lionblaze? I don't know why he has white on his chest, though. Outcast: Brook? Stoneteller? Stormfur again? Someone else? Eclipse: Sol??? Long Shadows: Ashfur Sunrise: Leafpool? Though the eyes look green...
The Fourth Apprentice: Dovewing? Fading Echoes: Ivypool? (The reason I'm unsure is because I'm always mixed up with her and Dovewing's eye colors) Night Whispers: Flametail Sign of the Moon: Stoneteller? I thought his eyes were amber, though. The Forgotten Warrior: Hollyleaf The Last Hope: I'm guessing Firestar
And I haven't read anything after that so I couldn't tell you for the rest. Someone PLEEEAASSSEEE help me! I am dying to know if we have some kind of confirmation for this! Also, I apologize if a thread like this has already been made in the past.

the new covers confuse me too because if its supposed to be certain cats....they have the wrong eye color....neither graystripe or silvertstream have green eyes. brambleclaw's eyes are amber, not green, etc

I know, right? I always thought they were supposed to be certain cats, but now that you mention it, it is possible he just kind of did his own thing...
Silverstream confuses me. I know that she usually has blue eyes, but she's mentioned briefly to have green in Forest of Secrets so I thought maybe he was going off of that. I actually think for a while it was canon they were green, but then in Cats of the Clans they were blue, and after Crookedstar's Promise they confirmed they changed it to blue. However, I have just reentered this fandom again after two years of absence so I don't really remember.
The covers for Midnight and Twilight also annoy me because the cats look so similar. :/

The only arc where we know for sure which cats are on the cover is fthe first. Because back when they were revealed there was a sort of interview with Owen where he explained why he put certain characters on the cover. The characters are as follows:
Into the Wild: Firepaw Fire and Ice: Tigerclaw Forest of Secrets: Graystripe Rising Storm: Yellowfang A Dangerous Path: Bluestar Darkest Hour: Firestar

I like the new covers but it seems so difficult to distinguish the cats that are on them. Personally I love the old covers since it was clear which cat was which, at least in the little square (like Fireheart and Cloudpaw in Rising Storm).
Either way though, it would be nice if they put on the inner cover which cat was portrayed.

I'd love to read that interview. I'll see if I can track it down. So it is Graystripe with green eyes...huh. I guess by some stretch they could also be seen as yellow? It looks like he has tabby markings too.

Either way though, it would be nice if they put on the inner cover which cat was portrayed. I wish they would do that as well! That would make everything so much simpler. I like the new covers; some of them are just gorgeous. The only thing I don't like is how a lot of them are super close up. On a lot of the old covers they showed specific scenes (like you said, with Fireheart and Cloudpaw) rather than just one cat all the time. But, hey, I will take however many pictures of these cats I can get.

Also, the Comic Con buttons confirmed that Starlight was Mistyfoot and Outcast was Breezepelt.

As for the other cats, these are the most likely cats who appeared on the cover, but nothing has been confirmed except for a few of them. Midnight: Brambleclaw Moonrise: Stormfur Dawn: Squirrelpaw Starlight: Mistyfoot Twilight: Leafpool Sunset: Firestar, or possibly Brambleclaw The Sight: Jaypaw Dark River: Lionpaw or Heatherpaw Outcast: Breezepaw Eclipse: Sol or possibly Onestar Long Shadows: Ashfur Sunrise: Hollyleaf, or possibly Leafpool The Fourth Apprentice: Dovepaw Fading Echoes: Ivypaw Night Whispers: Flametail Sign of the Moon: Stoneteller, or possibly Jay's Wing The Forgotten Warrior: Hollyleaf The Last Hope: Firestar The Sun Trail: Gray Wing Thunder Rising: Thunder The First Battle: Storm The Blazing Star: Star Flower A Forest Divided: Clear Sky, or possibly Quiet Rain Path of Stars: Slash or Wind Runner The Apprentice's Quest: Alderpaw, and maybe Sparkpaw or Darktail Thunder and Shadow: Twigpaw and Violetpaw Shattered Sky: Violetpaw (or Darktail) and Needletail Darkest Night: Leafstar (or Tigerheart) and Hawkwing River of Fire: Alderheart and Sparkpelt The Raging Storm: Twigbranch and Violetshine, or Shadowkit and Pouncekit

Also, the Comic Con buttons confirmed that Starlight was Mistyfoot and Outcast was Breezepelt. Ahhh, thank you! I never would have guessed that! Breezepelt makes sense to me, though Mistyfoot seems like kind of a random choice. I guess she has some drama with Hawkfrost in that book, but still...whatever, a picture of Mistyfoot is still cool. (Random question, are you Lightflame on Tumblr? I think I've talked to you before.)

Onestar actually makes a lot of sense for Eclipse. I knew it didn't look like Sol; I just couldn't think of who else it might be. I considered Heatherpaw for Dark River, but I thought not just because it would be weird if Lionpaw never got a cover, being a main character and all (plus Heatherpaw has blue/purple eyes, though it seems like he often messes up on eye color). For Sunrise, it makes sense for the green eyes and the fact that it's, well, Sunrise for it to be Hollyleaf. What goes against that though is 1) The coloring looks too light to me, 2) There's white on the muzzle, 3) Hollyleaf is eventually on The Forgotten Warrior so maybe he was just saving her picture for that. Of course, it's possible for a cat to be on more than one cover, and he also presumably put white on Lionpaw (if that is him) and Crowfeather on the new Crowfeather's Trial book, so it's possible it's another mistake. But if it's Leafpool, the green eyes are a mistake, so it's a complicated situation. (I love that cover, by the way - it's one of my favorites!)

New covers: fine. Old covers: Excellent
The only better part about the new ones is how the spines make a mural.

That one is probably the hardest to determine because it can fit a lot of cats.

But I definitely think they're more varied than the new ones. I had no idea Wayne McLoughlin died until recently. It makes me want to put together all my favorite pictures by him as a tribute or something. I enjoy that as well! It kind of makes me want to buy the new ones even though I already own all the old ones...
