I am reading Outcast again and I remember the Clan cats telling the Tribe cats that they should set up border patrols and train them how to fight. Was it fair to change the Tribe ways? Stoneteller and the others didn't seem happy about it, and I can't say I blame them. They've had the Tribe ways for decades. But what other way is there to keep the intruders out? I mean, if you don't fight or give them a fair warning, they'll just keep coming back.

Well they were trying to help and give them reasonable advice to fight back and protect their border. But they complained and claimed that their customs were being broken which doesn't make any sense. And not even that stopped the rogues because in SotM where Dovewing sees them crossing but doesn't bother to mention it to them.

The weird thing is that they can fight. We saw that in Moonrise. Then the Erins decided to go and make them weak for some reason

Yes, survival is more important than ancient traditions. (Unless those traditions are useful.)

I don't think it was the right thing to do, but it was necessary if the tribe Cats wanted to survive.
