At what point the books did Graystripe's character and personality suddenly changed for the worst?
I can here seem to find where. I love Graystripe and still do, but even I know he became so bland and boring and just not himself like he use to be.

it was in the new prophecy when he became irrelevant. i know you guys hate millie, but dont blame her for everything

We're not blaming her, even if she's a horrid character, but his entire character started going downhill when the Erins decided to make them a thing in general. He starts becoming kit fodder then faded into the background, forgotten, and never again relevant. Even Sandstorm got more relevance in AVoS, due to her death, than he did, which is sad. He was shoved out of the plot in favor of more horribly written cats, and when he does come back he ends up being one of those horribly written cats.

We're not blaming her, even if she's a horrid character, but his entire character started going downhill when the Erins decided to make them a thing in general. He starts becoming kit fodder then faded into the background, forgotten, and never again relevant. Even Sandstorm got more relevance in AVoS, due to her death, than he did, which is sad. He was shoved out of the plot in favor of more horribly written cats, and when he does come back he ends up being one of those horribly written cats. fair though personally i sort of blame brambleclaw. the erins wanted him as deputy so bad they wrote graystripe out of the story and made bramble deputy even before he had any apprentices. |

I blame Bramble partly as well, Brackenfur should have been deputy. And I'm not at all a big fan of Bracken, he's okay, but he had an apprentice, and it makes more sense for him to be deputy over Bramble tbh. |

I didn't care for his manga series either. > Constantly talks about Silverstream > Hey Millie wanna hook up?  It's sad, Graystripe is so irrelevant now that even when his kids are involved in drama he's nowhere to be seen. I also don't support Gray x Millie at all now, but the amount of disrespect to their relationship at the end of TLH made me laugh, it's like the Erins really did just wanted to add more bloodlines while still pushing GraySilver, not that I mind. But wow, that's a bit savage. |

I thought manga Millie was fine, but yeah, the story really revolved around Graystripe talking about Silverstream and then being like "Ok Millie, you'll do."
But yeah, it could have also been when he was taken away and no longer deputy. I agree, Brackenfur would have be much cooler. Brackenstar could have happened and then Brambleclaw could have been his deputy. But I mean, oh well....
When Graystripe came back, he was already boring. So that was unfortunate. His absence didn't help one bit.
Sandstorm did get a great character though in AVoS. I miss her.
