The Prophecies Begin, Power of Three, and Dawn of the Clans are well regarded, while The New Prophecy, Omen of the Stars, and A Vision of Shadows are disliked. The Broken Code should therefore be good unless it pulls a Nemesis.

Im the opposite, kinda.
I love TNP and AVOS, and really dislike POT. So i guess i prefer even arcs. tho OOTS is an outlier

I'm a mixed bag. I didn't like TPB and OotS, but I liked TNP, PoT, and DotC. I still don't know how to feel about AVoS as a whole.

TPB, TNP, DOTC, and AVOS were good arcs. Some books are annoying, but good arcs overall. |

I do not know how many chances I will give this series...I only read a few books in AVoS and only keep up with the rest of what I don't buy and read for myself by looking for spoiler threads on here...
I think for the new series, if the blurb of the first book is anything new or unique, i'll give warriors yet ANOTHER chance...if not, then i won't bother this time for sure...

The only arc I truly disliked was OOTS, but that had it's moments.
And the only reason AVS is judged so harshly is because it came after DOTC, which rivals OS in my opinion. Could some things have been better executed? Absolutely. Is it a bad arc overall? Not even close. The main plot was interesting and new. Instead of having one villain show up for a few books, cause some trouble, and then be killed off with little to no lasting effect on the Clans, we had the exact opposite. Darktail was a serious threat to the very existence of the Clans. He did a tremendous amount of damage while he was alive and the shock waves are still reverberating through the Clans. There was also quite a bit of build up with all the issues ShadowClan has had for the past decade. How is this a bad arc?

Honestly I consider TNP and AVoS to be rather good. Sure, AVoS has its bad books (RoF disappointed me in so many ways), but it's definitely a step up from the bloated, dragged-out PoT/OOtS arc. Darktail was a good villain while he was around, and SkyClan coming back, while they may not be my favorite Clan, shook up the status quo. TNP also shook up the status quo with the departure from the forest and felt pretty high-stakes all throughout--the latter three are somewhat dragged down by the Leafpool-Crowfeather affair, but the first three books are strong, IMO.
