What are your opinions on him?
He's enthusiastic and puppy-like, yet mischevious. I also like his relationship with Hawkwing and Twigbranch.

I liked him in Darkest Night, even if he swallowed up Twig's storyline, but River of Fire used him terribly. He lacks the self-awareness he had in the previous book, and just comes off as an idiot. It also feels like his romance with Twig was completely forgotten.

I just really think they missed out on developing Finleap by NOT having his mentor be Berrynose. Larksong had no personality, but Berrynose sure as heck did, and could have easily been shown helping to bring out sides of Finleap.
Oh well. I still love my Finny boi, but yea...

Honestly, I like Finleap... but his relationship with Twigbranch? No thank you. Same, I also don't like how they gave him Lark as a mentor, should have been Berrynose. How long do we have to wait before he gets an apprentice, or will he become the new Brightheart. |
