I was thinking about this when reading AVOS and Twigbranch decided to go to the Moonpool, despite it being only for medicine cats/leaders. Personally, I think it's ridiculous that the cats don't take their apprentices there beforehand like with the moonstone. In another thread someone said that it could make the apprentices respect Starclan more (which I agree with), so I just find it ridiculous that, if a warrior or even apprentice is seeking guidance from Starclan and they want to visit the Moonpool, they'll get scary demon eyes fiery Yellowfang, or some other random Starclan angerbeast. Unless you're Poppyfrost. Then it's okay. Apparently. But yeah, in terms of traditions that should be brought back, I think that making apprentices visit the Moonpool should be one of them. Thoughts? Other traditions you'd like to see return ? Also, the tradition of actually punishing cats for breaking the warrior code. That'd be nice.

I agree about the punishment thing, because what's the point of the code if there's no punishment for breaking it?
Also bring back the Moonpool thing as well, I've been wanting it for ages.

I feel like if going to the Moonpool was a thing, maybe the Shadowclan apprentices might have been more inclined to believe in Starclan. It probably wouldn't have stopped them from rebelling though.

Funny enough, I think we only ever saw Ravenpaw, Graystripe, and Firestar travel to the Moonstone, didn't we? I can't remember any other times, even throwaway lines. But still, it was cool, and sort of humbling for Firestar, so that was nice. If I had to bring anything back, though, I'mma go with what Jaysnow said, and want harsher punishments. I'm not talking exile (well...), but something's needed to change punishment-wise since Bluestar's time as leader...

I know this was only done once, but bring back the dying apprentice ceremony… There were so many cats who could have used it, but did not, even in the original books… I think it was only used twice (and the only proper time was in Tigerheart’s Shadow with Spiresight, since Brightheart didn't die and didn't get a proper warrior name until was clear she was going to survive…).
Also, bring back the name changing ceremony… Again, there were cats I could've used it, but it was never done (e.g. stripping the apprentices who rebelled but survived of their warrior names until they've actually earned them, Rowanstar formally taking his own name away when he feels he can no longer lead).

It's not really a tradition, but you never hear about elders going to gatherings and sharing tongues and gossip anymore. Actually you don't really hear about cats sharing tongues at all anymore.

I'm guessing since they're not being focused on, and since the series has been going on for so long, readers are probably expected to have read the first set of books, where that was introduced. But I agree that there should be a refresher on that, especially since not everyone starts with the very first series…

I was literally just thinking about this. They need to have young cats go to the Moonpool. It made them way more mature and was something they looked forward to back when they went to the Moonstone.

The apprentices being introduced to Starclan at their early age should've been brought back with the Moonpool tbh. It felt like a sort of "Coming-of-age" in their world to my eyes, and I would've loved to see other cats reactions to meeting their ancestors for the very first time.
