For Tigerheart, I feel like he wanted to be that strong warrior in TFA that protected the sweet she-cat, but also sees someone that isn't completely helpless. He could goof off around her in NW, he could relax but also that he could impress her so easily. There are aspects of Dovewing which are nice, she is loyal, friendly, she does her best to help others (even if they aren't her clanmates), and she has good aspects of being strong and soft at the same time. But I didn't ever really take their relationship seriously until AVOS. It was clear before then they put their clans first before AVOS.

I feel like it's the mutual feelings of not being accepted within their own Clans. I know we don't see a lot of this with Tigerheart, but I can't help feeling his lineage and his name alone probably caused a lot of issues... Not to mention he was able to enter the Dark Forest, even if he was revealed to be a spy... In order to even go there and be convincing, he would've had to have some issues within his Clan... And of course the books spare no detail explaining how having the power and being forced into a prophecy screwed up Dovewing's life...
So I could definitely see why they had some camaraderie there... And if there was a time where they could easily see each other (which is what happens), then it would blossom into love... Honestly, it would have been interesting if they were the same Clan, and Tigerheart could see the damage everything was doing to her. It would have been interesting to see his reaction (e.g. calling out Ivypool for her jealousy, calling out the other two, whoever they would be, for pushing the prophecy on her so young).

thats the thing. there may be reason to dovewing liking him (even though i think those reasons are stupid)....tigerheart HAS NO REASON. why did he need to meet her again in the first place? no reason.

I feel like there's less that there is no reason and more like the reasons were not explained… As I mentioned above, there's a lot that can be inferred about Tigerheart that makes sense for the relationship, but it's never elaborated on directly… And so the whole thing starts to fall apart… If we got a bit more explanation before they relationship went full-blown, it would make more sense… But we don't, so it's awkward at best… |
