While I'm not fond of Fernsong being with Ivypool, Fernsong himself as a character is pretty cute. I just hope the relationship doesn't make Ivypool too soft.

I loathe Fern x Ivy. I'm convinced that the Erins will start to soften her up, and her personality will get consumed by her relationship.
I've got nothing against Fernsong, though. He seems like a cute character (judging by what little we've seen of him).

Hopefully it won't. Just because Ivypool will be in a relationship doesn't necessarily she'll lose her feisty attitude. And if she does "go soft", then it'll likely just be because she's mellowed with age, especially now that the Great Battle is over.
Most if not all of the she-cats in this series are shown to be able to handle their own, anyway, including the more motherly cats like Goldenflower or Ferncloud or Daisy.

Just because Ivypool will probably get Fernsong as a mate doesn't mean it'll make her soft. I doubt that'll happen. If anything, she'll just become even more awesome because she'll show (if she has kits) that just because a she-cat has kits doesn't mean she's soft or weak. (Although, we've already seen this with cats like Sandstorm and Squirrelflight)
