Old topic, but who do you think should have been the fourth cat in OotS? And since Firestar was never really portrayed with a power, what do you think their power would be if they had one?

In terms of the actual story, it would make narrative sense for either Hollyleaf or Ivypool to be the Fourth cat. It would give Hollyleaf reason for returning and give Ivypool a role she already had, but would place more weight to its importance.
For my personal idea on the fourth in another narrative, well...that's a bit of a spoiler.

OotS was completed years ago, so I'd suggest avoiding the forums until you read it. Unless you're the type of person who doesn't care for spoilers? I don`t really care. I look up the books online most of the time so I get spoilers all the time. And my friend gives me spoilers 24/7. |

I look up the books online most of the time so I get spoilers all the time. And my friend gives me spoilers 24/7. In that case, Hollyleaf didn't die at the end of PoT. She survived the tunnel collapse and found a friend in Fallen Leaves. She secretly helped her Clan, but returned in The Forgotten Warrior after being forced to reveal her identity to Dovewing (the real Third cat) and her sister Ivypool after they found out that Sol had planned to attack ThunderClan with a few WindClan warriors. She became more humble during her time in the tunnels, and fought in the Great Battle. She died defending Ivypool from Hawkfrost, but not before making amends with Leafpool. |

If I had to pick one, probably Hollyleaf or Ivypool. Cinderheart is also a good choice, because even though she's not related to Firestar, she does fit the whole theme of reincarnation. Plus it would've made the whole thing a bit more relevant…

No one. but if there had to be another, Ivypool or Hollyleaf. Ivypool played an important role as a spy and making her the fourth would just make sense. Hollyleaf showing up after the prophecy is given to Jayfeather would also be a good plot point of her being the fourth.

I believe that it could not have been any other cat because this was Rusty, Firehart, Firestar's life. The story started out with Rusty dreaming about the forest. He was the first one that Ravenpaw told about Tigerclaw. I think that Tigerclaw saw that Firepaw was the one cat who might be able to stop him from achieving his goal. In the end it was Firestar who was the only cat that could take Tigerstar out for good. I believe that he had the power of being with other cat in dreams. A lot of Starclan cats were able to talk to him in his dreams, and not just Starclan cats but also Skyclan cats. It was not an active power but it was there. Firestar proves that even kitty pets can become great Warriors. May Starclan be with you all.  |
