Why do people dislike Squirrelflight so much? Yeah, She was bratty as an apprentice, but I'd say she grew out of that. I've heard people say that they hated Squirrelflight even more when they found out that Jayfeather,Lionblaze, and Hollyleaf weren't her kits. I really think that caused me to love her even more, I keep re-watching the M.A.P King & Lionheart and I truly love the "Sisterly Love". So, I don't know, why does everyone hate her?

I don't even know anyone that actually hates her besides Ashfur fans. She's actually well-liked or at least, that's what I thought.

i hate her because she was very annoying as an apprentice and young warrior in new prophecy and that's all that really matters to me, because she because a genetic background character in power of three and beyond.

I love this girl. I'm in the minority here but I loved Squirrelflight's bratty behavior as an apprenitce. It was refreshing and she wasn't the stereotypical good apprentice who did what she was told. Instead of keeping her bratty behavior, she then matured into a good warrior, mother and later deputy. She kept her fiery personality, but also change in some ways for the better. But as Holly Snow mentioned she seems to have lost her personality in AVoS despite being the mother to Alder and Spark.

I love Squirrelflight, she is my first ever favorite character in Warriors. When I was reading it through the first time, she was absolutely my queen (I still love her but not as obsessively as I used to, lol). I liked her as an apprentice too. I'm just always drawn to rebellious characters (unless they're truly jerks, which she wasn't) and her character development was amazing. I'm against the Ashfur plot and how it made her look like a jerk when she truly wasn't. I hate it when she's called a Mary Sue when she clearly has her flaws, like how she often acts rash and jumps to conclusions. She's also seriously underrated and even hated for her lie. But if you think about it, how many people would go that far to protect their sibling? Squirrelflight is an amazing role model yet so underrated.

Squirrelflight is one of my favorite characters! Though I miss her spunk from TNP. I feel like her personally got thrown away a bit after that series. (Then again, I think background-character-syndrome effects 95% of characters in Warriors once the spotlight is no longer on them. :-P )
Her relationship with Leafpool is endearing too!
I imagine those who really hate her do so because they either a ) found her bratty and obnoxious as an apprentice or b ) they're an Ashfur fangirl.

I'm biased towards Leafpool, so I like Squirrelflight less. It has nothing to do with Ashfur.

i quite liked squirrels development from her apprentice days, ik back in the day squirrel was suuuper hated but opinion on her has improved now from what i see

Squirrelflight's fiery, feisty personality was something I enjoyed reading about - something different than what we'd normally see. I enjoyed her character until it started to fade to the background.

I didn’t like her when she was an apprentice but once she grew up I started liking her. I love her sister bond with Leafpool and they’re in my number 1 spot for best sisters in warriors.

I like Squirrelflight. But I feel like she became personality-less when she became deputy (or just a background character in general) because I would have liked to see her as just a really good senior warrior (the only other female senior warrior is Brightheart...)
I loved how she was the foster mother of Jay, Lion, and Holly. I was disappointed about how her character really fizzled out after that, though. I was hoping she would be more like Sandstorm (her mom) but unfortunately neither her or Leafpool are like her.
And making her a mom (with how OLD she is, and barren, what the heck) was unnecessary. I said it on another thread, but if Alder/Spark were Lion and Cinder's kits, that would have been better.
