1. Did you like the reveal of when Onestar revealed his son was Darktail? Why/why not
2. Would you have preferred someone else as Dark's kin or not? Why/why not
3. Did you think Onestar partially became a better character by drowning his son and saving everyone from Darktail? Why/why not
4. How would you rate Darktail, aswell as Onestar?

1. Originally, I hated that Onestar was revealed to be Darktail's father. I thought it was an odd decision on the editor's part. Out of place. And I didn't like how it established this new information about Onestar's past, warping our perception of him as a young warrior. Leave The New Prophecy and what it says is canon alone, please, editors.
Now it's grown on me, like a fungus or a wart.
2. I sort of like the idea of Scourge fathering him, hahaha. XD Otherwise, no, not really.
3. Ehhh. I think his character became a little better. But doing good for a few minutes doesn't negate a few years of being a crummy leader to me.
4. Onewhisker: 8/10, Onestar: 2/10, Darktail: I dunno!

It didn't fit whatsoever and I figured it was sort of a last minute decision on the "editing" team because they wanted him to hate all the clans, not just Sky. I thought the reveal was meant to defend and give reason on why One was a sucky jerk leader because a lot of the characters, we the fans hate, the Erins or the editors favor, of course this is not always the case but... 2. I liked the idea of Blackstar fathering Dark even possibly Bone/Barley's brothers , seeing how his group sort of opperated like Bloodclan. 3. Meh. Not really, he's a bit more tolerated by myself, and for some reason, seeing AMV/PMVs on YT make me feel a rush of idk, excitement whenever reading that part of SS, so I think i'm neutral on One being Dark's father. Idk though. 4. Darktail- 5/10: Because for me he was interesting to read about in HwJ, an interesting villain, and again, those sweet, amazing AMVs/PMVs. Some of his character I just didnt get, and couldnt relate to. Considering some authors try to make you pity the villains in their books by making you semi relate. Onestar- Same ratings as you for Onewhisker though for "star", 3/10. |

Honestly the Onestar reveal made me.want to stop reading the rest of the set of books cuz I figured Darktail would've have some sort of clan relation or something just because of his name mostly but the Onestar thing seemed like a stretch of sorts or something

1. I was neutral, but I could see how it would have happened.
2. I thought it would suit Blackstar more, but I could see how it would work for Onestar as well. Onestar should have drowned in the floods, and Blackstar having a mate outside the clan made sense. Because he was a rogue at one point or another. But considering how cowardly Onestar is, and how friendly he is with kittypets, I'm not as all surprised he was the father in the end.
3. No, lol. He's always been a bad character, he was just finally getting karma for his actions. He held no real ties with Darktail, only the fact that he was kin by blood, but he was no different than a stranger. Onestar died for his cowardice, and I doubt fighting and killing his own son affects him in a way as a father would mourn, but more because he's scared of what others think of him.
4. Darktail is a 9/10 for him, Onestar is still trash so 2/10, he only gets a 2 because he's finally dead and because he was more tolerable as Onewhisker before.
