I don't know if anyone likes TigerxDove, as we've heard quite enough rants about it already. So I was wondering, if you don't support this ship, then who do you think Dovewing should have been paired up with?

After A Vision Of Shadows, I can't really see Dovewing as having a mate. She did okay with Bumblestripe, but I thought after Bramblestar's Storm that she'd get along without a mate (God knows Mousefur did). Well...so much for that.

I think she should have gone mateless as well. It's so odd that the only ones in the series without mates are Mousefur, cats that die really early (sometimes), and medicine cats. But not even all medicine cats. And even the ones like Alderheart, who would have been fine mateless, have interest in someone random.

For some, it's not so much as being asexual, but just preferring to be single and happy, which I think @wildstar meant. For example, I don't think we've seen anything about Longtail being ace, but he was single and lived a long life. I think even cats we've seen in the elders' den in the first few series took younger cats as mates, but Longtail didn't. There are plenty of people who are hetero/homo/pan/insert-orientation-here, who choose to be single, and find their best selves that way. That's what I would've liked Dovewing to do. |

Dovewing honestly should've just remained single. She was fine on her own. Though I might be a tad bit sensitive but I don't like how people say "she doesn't deserve to have a mate"... well, what has she done wrong, exactly, to not deserve happiness? She's done everything for her Clan. The only stupid thing she really did was break the code by seeing a ShadowClan cat. And this isn't even just directed at Dovewing, but any character when people say "they don't deserve a mate". Like okay, villains I understand but, good cats like Lionblaze and so on? That just seems a bit too far for me. Everyone deserves happiness.

Dovewing should have been single so she could figure herself out ON HER OWN instead of returning back to Tigerheart like a scared little baby. Seriously, she was feeling left out and met with Tigerheart. She felt this again and got with him ANOTHER TIME and now has his kits. it's ridiculous how much she RELIES on him to feel better about herself. it's not a healthy thing for her to do! why couldn't she have stayed single and mature on her own!?

On a side note, it would be a really great plot twist if her and Tigerheart actually end up not working out for each other. Like, she thinks that he was a great mate and leaving for ShadowClan with him was a great idea, but maybe when clan life starts for her, she realizes they are nothing alike. That would be a great twist honestly. I'm a little bored of the "happily ever after" thing with them two.

Considering how crappy and selfish she was to both Bumble and Tiger, I'd say neither, she doesn't deserve a mate, and hoenstly was better off by herself after BrS. It should have stayed that way.

No character comes to mind, but I wish they could've introduced a Jayfeather/Yellowfang-like rival (Who could then become mates) that would tell her to stop her nonsense. Kind of like how Squirrelflight is to Brambleclaw and vice versa.
The cat could've been appointed a temporary mentor of sorts as she learns to cope without her powers or something.
