nightcloud and crowfeather

They're mates. I'm sorry but they're literally doing what normal mates do, show affection to one another. What's wrong with Nightcloud wanting to have a mate and kits one day, how is that selfish? It's no different than any Queen who's contemplated the same thing at some point in their life. Nightcloud is no different. Also, her making Crowfeather uncomfortable? They literally had to mate to make a kit, but her showing signs of affection to him because he's going on a dangerous journey he might not even come back from, is horrible? It makes sense to want the object of your desires to love you, Ashfur tried, and failed, and reacted horribly, but Nightcloud returned Crow's feelings cause she thought he liked her, that's called attraction from reciprocating. But it was too late when she realized he was just using her, and even hoped he'd at least treat their son properly, but he didn't.

No one in WindClan knows that Crowfeather had an affair with two non-WindClan she-cats, yeah it's dumb writing, but it's canon. Especially in the case of Feathertail, only the inner circle, aka the ones that made the original journey, knew about his feelings for Feathertail. And no one knew about him and Leaf hooking up at some point until the reveal of the real father by Holly at the gathering. Yes, bad writing, again, but this literally proves, that Night and many of the other cats don't know what Crow went through. Even if she tried to figure him out, he was shutting everyone out, he refused to share his feelings, the Erins even noted how his heart shriveled after Leaf (or was it Feather?) and just never had luck with romance since. You're getting mad at Night wanting to be closer to her mate, but then it's her fault for not understanding him when he's so cold to her in the first place?

Crowfeather has NO excuse for being the crappy father to Breezepelt, especially when he was an innocent kit. Crowfeather's neglect toward his own son shouldn't have been determined by the value of his feelings for a mate he was using in the first place.

I'm also sick of people attacking Night just because she actually tried to raise her own son, unlike Crowfeather. Nightcloud was shown reprimanding Breezepelt before, back when he was an apprentice, while also reminding him how Lion helped Heather. She also reprimanded Crow for not having more faith in his son, because Crow would only give Breezepelt negative feedbacks and never encouraged him to do better. Even blatantly ignoring him on the journey, his son is practically doing flips to get his attention but he's more into these other clan apprentices, he doens't even know at the time are his biological secret kits. How ironic. Now, where in the series do we see Nightcloud excusing Breezepelt's actions, nowhere. We see it with cats like Millie and Blossomfall, and how she got mad at Squirrelflight for trying to reprimand her daughter. But ironically people tear into Graystripe just like they do Nightcloud unjustifying, just because they don't "see" what they want to see in the context of the book. Gray wasn't there? Guess he's a neglectful dad. Night didn't reprimand Breeze as much as Crow did in a crappy manner? Guess she's a horrible parent too.

The only time anyone actually actively made Breezepelt hate anyone in the book was Crowfeather himself, and the Dark Forest. Crowfeather literally says scummy crap at a gathering, about Thunder and HalfClan cats, and influences his son to sneer at things like that, just so he could take a shot at Leafpool. And then later the DF influence Breezepelt to hate his own father even more, along with Leafpool, and his half-siblings. Breezepelt never blamed his mother, because she never treated him like crap like his father did, and he's also shown defending her. There is literally no way you can spin this, they even had one on one time in the mountains and Crow still managed to be a horrible father. There are chapters upon chapters about how the Three secretly thought how lucky they were to have Bramblestar as a father and not Crowfeather because of how horrible he is to Breeze. Nowhere in the books does Nightcloud pull a Smoke/Onestar on her own son. And the only other possible source was Rock, in an inaccurate outdated guidebook, the same cat that blamed the Three for everything and even said they shouldn't have been born.

The only thing Nightcloud is guilty of is choosing to be with a lame excuse of a furball like Crowfeather, and being a helicopter parent because Crow couldn't even man up and take responsibility for his actions. He used both Nightcloud and Breezepelt to make himself look good, ugh.

Nightcloud is semi-responsible for making Breezepelt the little monster he is, however, it's more due to a bit of poor judgement rather than any real awful behavior. Crowfeather definitely merits more hate for just being an awful cat in general, really. He's jerk incarnate.
