For instance, Rainfur (Skyclan) and Darktail. Where would Rainfur get his name? Was Darktail given that name specifically for his tail, because it seems that most loners/rogues have singularly-worded names (Dragonfly, Rain, Barley), despite having distinct physical features (though I guess One-Eye could make up for this, even though he was around before the clans were entirely formed). I'm just curious, and it's always been odd to me. Thoughts?

Rainfur's name is just a coincidence, due to the spots on his pelt. As for Darktail, I'm assuming he named himself, or maybe Smoke did depending on how long he lived with her.

I don't think it's odd, since they were named after their physical attributes. I've had several cats in real life that have Warriors sounding names (Whitefoot, Heartnose, Spotnose, Brokentail) , but none of them were named with Warriors in mind. We just noticed certain physical features about them and started nicknaming them that until it stuck and became their name. I imagine that's the same case here.

Not really. I actually find it pretty interesting when Clan cats find out that non-Clan cats have warrior names. Plus, I know that Tailchaser's Song (basically Warriors' ancestor) had cats with names like Tailchaser, Pouncequick, Roofshadow, and Firefoot.
