Squirrelflight was a great character in the series but now she's just been tossed aside in the background. Sometimes I even forget that she's the mother of Alderheart and Sparkpelt. She was a really good character, but now she's just your typical background deputy. Kinda makes me sad.

I agree. She's one of my favorite characters and it would be nice if we saw her old personality shine every once in a while.

Ikr? Isn't she their mom? Why does she never interact with them then?

She doesn't have to be a central part of every book, but she could at least have some sort of interaction with her kits every once in awhile. I think we've gotten more interaction between Pinenose and Violetshine.

When it comes to Squirrelflight and Leafpool, I have to say that had Leafpool not been featured so much by the Erins I would have liked Squirrelflught more for her vibrant personality and such. Now even that is taken away, and we have this serious, yawn-inducing robot in her place. The older cats readers have really developed a love for over the books have been pushed aside to make way for these radical younger cats who get themselves into huge, intricate messes and are practically torn apart by two sides of the fandom, some saying this is the most lovable cat around, while others say they're worse than Tigerstar.

That's just because none of the supporting cast has been treated well by AVOS.
