So ThunderClan may be the nicest clan, but they aren't the brightest. How did they not notice that Bluestar's kits went missing and suddenly they see kits in RiverClan who look exactly like the kits that Bluestar claimed was eaten by a fox. And there was probably another queen in there at the time and did she hear a fox? NOOOOO!! And now let's talk about when Leafpool was pregnant. No one didn't even notice, not even former queens who know what pregnant she-cats look like when they're close to kitting. I mean seriously! Not even Ferncloud, who's in the nursery all the time noticed this. And also why did Bluestar choose Tigerstar Mark #1 as her deputy, she watched him beat up the cat equivalent of a two year old. And I think Bluestar should've told Sunstar right after that incident about what happened. And if she thought Thistleclaw was such a threat, she could've told him that he choose another cat to be deputy, and there were plenty of cats who had apprentices and would've made great leaders, like Thrushpelt. Okay this just turned into how idiotic Bluestar is.

thunderclan a poem by bad_wcf_poet
"the bravest clan in the forest!" is the claim they stake "the best one by far? that's thunderclan!" but after a careful look at the actions they take they realized why the others called them dunderclan.

Well, to be fair, other cats were pretty dumb at times as well, and on a larger and much more harmful scale than just being really unobservant. Look at Rowanstar/modern ShadowClan in general, Clear Sky, Onestar, etc. Even some of the more reasonable cats like Tallstar decided to demote Mudclaw on his deathbed with only two witnesses who were from another clan when he knew well in advance that he was going to die soon.
I think the whole "cats not noticing obvious things" is as a result of the authors really enjoying the "big reveal" type of drama, but not knowing how to craft realistic scenarios that make it possible for such scandals to take place and be kept secret at the same time. In other words, it speaks more to the writing flaws than the character flaws.

As far as Bluestar’s kits go, I’m going to have to say announcing kits’ births- especially their names- weren’t common back then. The first time I recall that happening wasn’t until TPoT.
And ThunderClan DEFINITELY isn’t going to announce they lost kits; that’s admitting their camp had a flaw/weakness.
The next time ThunderClan would see or most likely learn of Stonepaw and Mistypaw it would be a while and they likely wouldn’t draw the connections between the two.
Tigerpaw(star) did what his mentor told him to do, or at least his mentor didn’t step in to stop it. Bluefur(star) could have put an end to it, as she did, much sooner. The problem here is that cats can change from the time they are apprentices to warriors. Clearly Bluestar thought that applied to Tigerstar as well. He was just a loyal ThunderClan warrior...until he killed Redtail.
