Has anyone else noticed that each Clan has a specific naming scheme that is unique to their own Clan? Usually it involves animals or specific plants or things found on their territory, things that focus on the attitude of the Clan in general, and specific themes?
For example: ThunderClan prefixes tend to focus on the woodland animals that they normally hunt (Squirrel, Mouse, Mole, Shrew), plants in the area (Holly, Sorrel, Willow, Hazel, Rose, Fern), and normally their suffixes signify something about the character's spirit or personality (-flight, -pool, -flower, -heart, -light) or a physical attribute (-claw, -pelt, -fur, -whisker).
ShadowClan is different. A lot of their names take after physical attributes of the characters, especially scars and unique features, they also have a tougher sound to them versus the more light-hearted ThunderClan (Lizardstripe, Badgerfang, Tawnypelt, Ratscar, Crowfrost, Nightpelt, Clawface, Stumpytail, Kinkfur, Tangleburr).
RiverClan's names are focused on not only the water and what lies around or within it, but they also tend to be a bit more grand and beautiful, either having some type of flow to them or sound more elegant. (Willowbreeze, Graypool, Rainflower, Brambleberry, Willowshine, Mothwing, Duskwater, Petaldust, Minnowfur, Mosspelt, Echomist).
I just thought this was interesting.
