Whenever someone posts about Dovewing, does anyone think of me? Lol!
To keep this here, has Dovewing always been selfish? It's been so long since I've read OotS I honestly can't remember.

Not selfish as much as she's...unrealistic in her desires at many times. And alot of cats are like this. She thinks everyone will be friends after the journey. She thinks she can get away with meeting up with Tigerheart all the time in her apprenticeship and blatantly moons over him in Thunderclan's camp. She bases the safety of her kits on a dream and really just fell flat when her character was ruined for drama and romance.
She's not selfish back then when she keeps the secret of her powers because she believes it'd be safer for the clan, as stupid as I may think Lion and Jay's choice about that is >:/
Romance wise? Yes, I do think she's a bit selfish.

Yeah, I do! You and I have talked about her enough haha whenever a Dovewing thread comes up and I comment in it, I think, "Aqua will probably be here soon!" As for being selfish...yeah, I think so, tbh. Moonblazer described my thoughts on her perfectly. So much of what I disliked about Dovewing was tied into Tigerheart, Lionblaze, and Jayfeather, but mostly Tigerheart. She refuses to spy on the other Clans -- aka the reason for her powers, even if they didn't know that, but still -- yet will creepily stalk her boyfriend, and did so quite a few times. When Ivypool was captured by ShadowClan, she let Ivypool stay there all night, and then woke up the next day and acted as though she had only just discovered Ivypool was gone, because she didn't want anyone to find out about her and Tigerheart. Those are the few instances with her that made me go, "Ugh, c'mon, Dovewing!" because of him. |
