I honestly never really thought about it. But I had always wanted Hollyleaf to get an apprentice.
I'm fine with the ones they had.

I think it would have been interesting if Ivypaw was Lionblaze’s apprentice and Dovepaw was Cinderheart’s.

why apprentices get certain characters as mentors is rather arbitrary in practice so I don't think about it much. Its supposed to be based off of ability/disability, appearance, or raw teaching ability like with cloudtail. Seldom does this ever happen. In practice we just get random assignments like Graystripe and Lionheart and Cloudtail and Hollytuft. If we went off of appearance for the main characters after the new prophecy, Hollyleaf should have had Spiderleg as a mentor and Lionblaze should have had Brackenfur. Cinderheart sould have been Dovewing's mentor and Icecloud should have been Ivypool's mentor. Lionblaze and Fernsong should have been Adlerheart and Sparkpelt's mentors because they are gingers, and twigbranch should have had dovewing or some other grey cat as a mentor. also the finleap should have had berrynose as a mentor. And not just appearance wise, because all these personalities also seem temper each other relatively well, or could've at least had interesting interactions. I wish we'd had these pairs instead. |

Some of the decisions I do get, like ashfur having lionblaze as an apprentice. but Spiderleg and Hollyleaf seems like such a missed oppurtunity. Still salty they did the same for Larksong and Sparkpelt. Develop them on their own without pairing them up; give Berrynose a freaking chance. |
