bleh
anyone else think that dovewing AND ivypool should have remained single? They could have been the first main duo to remain single and focus on themselves.
we already know the argumen tthat ivypool had literally no interest or reason to have a mate, so she was just fine being the next mousefur and not have a mate like everyone else.
and dovewing's love life is a big mess, so she DEFINARELY should have stayed single to focus on HERSELF. she was doing just fine being single and learning how to live with herself without powers, etc. but no, the erins shoved tigerheart back in her face and then tigerheart's big mess shadow happened.
both sisters should have been single.

Agreed. Not every character needs a love interest.

I agree. I would personally think more cats would choose the single life in ThunderClan, mainly because the clan is so overpopulated and there are too many warriors. I mean, that's kind of how it was in the first series, right? Only a few kits were ever born or apprenticed through the entire series. Ivypool really did seem like someone who could be Mousefur or what not. I mean, are they even going to keep the idea that Fernsong was going to stay in the nursery with the kits while she returns to warrior duties, or are they just going to scrap that and have her be just like any other queen?
And Dovewing was a disaster. Not sure why they had to pick her to be Tigerheart's mate. Anyone else would have been fine. Literally anyone could have been his mate from ShadowClan yet they just didn't have any characterization for any characters in that clan.

It's worse than when Graystripe left Thunderclan to be with his kits. At least Graystripe had the excuse of "their mother is dead, so I have to be the single parent they need, etc." Fernsong's "reason" is just....being a female Ferncloud for "reverse gender roles." oh, excuse me, i didn't know toms produced milk too...*eye roll* Dovewing's love life was such a mess that I would have wanted her to be single just so she can recover and focus on herself...her love life took her through so much, she deserved some time alone to have some self care time and realize she's more than just a cool girl who boys can play around with (*cough*tigerheartthinkingherpowerswerecool*cough*). Dovewing just surrendering and giving in just proves how horrible she is as a character/person, and how weak she is. if tigerheart didn't go to thunderclan, dovewing would have toughened up and grown as her own again.

Honestly the hate Fernsong gets it's getting tiring and repetitive. He said that he'd help with the kits once they were weaned so why are people making such a fuss about him not having milk? Those suppouses gender roles were never confirmed? Plenty of queens have shown longing to go out of the camp to hunt or patrol, but they can't because they have to take care of their kits. It's nice that Ivy can rely on Fersong to take care of their kits if she wants to go out, or just wants some space.

I always wanted a mate for Ivypool, so I'm incredibly satisfied. I really don't care if cats get mates. It's not a big deal to me. If they're happy with a family, good on them. If not, that's cool too.

I don't get why people are complaining about Fernsong staying in the nursery because "Males can't produce milk". Um... OBVIOUSLY. It sounds as if they think the Erins didn't know this or something. It was clearly stated he'd take to staying the nursery AFTER the kits were weaned off of milk and eating prey. The "Can't produce milk" excuse is meaningless from the very beginning and proves no point and I wish people would stop using that against him. Also the gender roles thing was never confirmed anywhere, wha-, stop with that.

I think it would be cool if Fernsong went to the nursery to care for the kits until they reach 6 moons old. I mean, they should be weaned a lot sooner than that, and it would help Ivypool get back to her usual lifestyle. It would kind of spice things up a bit in the series since every mate + kits story is all the same, every time.
Another random thing... I really feel like cats in the series (coughThunderClancough) having too many kits. Honestly it seems Shadowkit is the most interesting one that Dovewing has had, so they could have just had her have just one kit. Same with Ivypool (or have two, or something)
