TIL what vilify means.
To stay on topic, the relationship is so boring to me I'm seriously startled at the length of these posts.

I mean... it’s not bad. I’m not a fan of how they’ve started to portray Ivypool, but it isn’t too far gone, yet. Fernsong seems cool, but the fact that it’s very clear in canon how they’re related is.... weird, but honestly we’re starting to run out of options. Not too bad.

I dislike it, but not because of the pairing itself. The problem is that the Erins seem to think that almost everyone needs a mate and/or kits, when there are many that would've been fine if they stayed single (Ivypool, Leafpool, Crowfeather both times, Breezepelt, Blossomfall, Thornclaw, Sparkpelt, Rowanclaw, Sasha, Spiderleg, Twigbranch, arguably Violetshine). It is not to say that her having a mate is a bad thing, but I miss the times when there were quite a few characters who chose to stay single. Not to mention I do wish the relationship would have been developed a bit more… I actually do agree, that not every cat needs a mate. Personally, I wanted Thornclaw, Rowanclaw, Leafpool, Sasha, Crowfeather, Spiderleg, and Twigbranch to stay single. Thornclaw is way too old, Tawny deserves better than Rowan, Leafpool is a medicine cat, Sasha was used for plot, Crowfeather should have just stopped after Feathertail, Spiderleg is obviously not the commitment type, and Twigbranch is way too fickle. On the other hand, I liked the idea of Blossomfall being a queen, so she could have her own family, especially after her fall out with her mother, just not with Thornclaw, maybe Mousewhisker instead? I don't mind Breezepelt being a father, but after the incident with Poppyfrost, that's a neutral spot for me lol. Sparkpelt is pretty young, I'm not sure where she'll go with things, same with Violetshine, I don't mind it if it's Tree. Basically, I do agree that certain characters would have just been better off single, or staying single, especially a cat like Dovewing. Instead of going back and lying to her clan and eventually abandoning them, she should have just stayed single if she didn't want to get back with Bumblestripe, ya know?
