Fixing old code ╭ ╯Mossclan╰ ╮
The Accepting and Proud Introduction Welcome.
Before you lies the vast wetlands that makes up Mossclan's territory, a land of savagery and at times beauty but one that bears the marks of generations that have come before you.
This is a Semi-Literate Roleplay with small changes to the rank system, before applying be sure to read the rules and make note of the changes.
Additionally, as a personal choice on my part, all joining members must choose at least one other character to be related to that they do not own -- This means being willing to communicate with others. In the beginning, however, there will be a number of characters created by select members that are designated to relate to in one way or another. This can be as direct as siblings or as indirect as an uncle or cousin. The world is your oyster. However, I only demand one character you join with has an established relationship -- the rest you are free to build relationships around later.
We also encourage building friendships and eventually taking mates within the clan so don't be afraid to ask someone if you notice chemistry between your characters! Further down will be the list of characters and the relations they have or do not have so you may easily search through in the future for a potential relationship position to fill.
Additionally a characteristic of the clan is specialized "subclasses" within the warrior ranking and other small changes to the rank system allowing more flexibility and giving certain ranks more usage which you can read up on HERE.

Characteristics
Mossclan cats are raise with the belief that Adaptability, Justice and Acceptance are the only way to survival among the harsh wetlands that they call home. The territory has created cat's unafraid of the waters that carve their way through the land in both the forms of lakes and ponds as well as winding rivers, and have made them capable of changing and adapting as needed to continue the clan's survival.
In behavior, despite their intimidating presence as clan cats, cats of this clan tend to be accepting by nature and, although willing to fight for the protection of their clan, have been known to accept passing loners, rogues, and kittypets into their clan -- Perhaps believing it a debt now owed to them, or even respect due to the heritage of the clan's very first and founding leader who was half-clan born and half-loner. Because of this, they acknowledge the existence of clans outside their own and rarely show intent to kill those they find on their territory unless met with violent aggression, many even being willing to sit down and talk to a lone cat before requesting they soon leave, join the clan, or are forcibly chased off in the case of uncooperative cats.

Although within the feline family, Bobcats typically don't care much for the clan dwelling cats and will pose a real threat to those they run into if hungry. Otherwise they tend to avoid the clan and their camp -- therefore it is an extreme rarity for a partial bobcat clan cat.
Deer and Moose can also be found within the Dry Forests but are left undisturbed due to their size and the danger they can pose if bothered.

No swearing IC, Force-mating, Graphic mating in general or kitting/birthing scenes -- Strict fade-to-black. No Apprentice queens.
No "special snowflakes"
No godmodding, Unrealistic powers or colors, spotlighting, so on and so forth. Even those in key plot roles shouldn't be perfect beings that soak up all the attention ever.
Semi-literate
Four or more sentences is required, a full paragraph(Five sentences) or more is perfered. Additionally, use grammar and do your best to spell correctly. Mistake happen but be legible.
High Rank positions
No member may play more than a single high rank at one time. If their character in such a position dies, they are eligible for a highrank position again should one become available.
No-Consent killing
Fatal wounds are fatal, be realistic in this aspect and keep in mind that killing is considered a dishonorable act.
Apprentice naming
If you do not submit a Warrior name when applying as an apprentice, the leader will be the one to choose the warrior name for you. In the case of Medicine cat apprentices, the medicine cat will be the one to choose the name.
Activity & Consistency
I require members to be active at least once every two weeks if not more, those who fail to abide by this rule will receive consequences in the order of; A warning, Temporary removal, and if the before do not clear up the problem the final result will be erasure of your character and the implication of death. Additionally, it's important to stay active when your character is engaged in a roleplay -- try not to leave your fellow members hanging ♡
A queen may have up to four kits per litter.
LGBTQ+ content is allowed but be reasonable about it.

Clan History Long ago, before Mossclan was even a thought planted in one's mind, there was a clan who's name has since been lost to time. This clan suffered much strife, both internally and externally, such thing brought to the head when the leader became pregnant. Rumors that their leader had fallen in love with another clan's leader had circulated, and many knowing their own leader had bore no mate within the clans believed her kits may have been of the other clan's leader. The deputy at that time took the lead of the clan whilst the leader was indisposed with kits, and soon an attack, before impossible due to the reluctance of both leaders to clash, was made on the other clan.
Nobody remembers who won this battle, but it unleashed a chain of events that tore the clans themselves apart. The truth of the kits was not quite as had been believed, their father a loner outside the clans all together. In this turbulent time, the kits were raise with the proper care the mother could offer, though some of them were taken by the other clan and raised by the father that was not truly theirs -- difficult and dangerous it was and with their adulthood came a cry from starclan itself. The bloodshed had soiled the land with warrior blood, and little could stop the fury that the clans had created amoung themselves and so...
Starclan called out to the young warriors, the children of the leader within both clans, and gave them a mission. Depart from their homelands, take those who would follow, those who no longer desired the brutal bloodshed that had driven their home mad, and establish a new home. It would be their duty to rectify the sins of their clans in the only way left to them. Gathering one last time, those who had chosen to leave, farewells were offered and the groups each left in different directs in hopes of finding a new home. It was a group led by a she-cat name Mossheart that came upon the wetlands, a far distance from the place she once called home and the territory far different from what any of them had ever seen before. However, in time, they settled here, learning the ways to survive the strange conditions... and Mossclan was founded in honor of it's very first leader.

Clan Holidays Unlike many clans, Mossclan chooses to celebrate various days they deem special, these events acting to bring the clan closer together and form stronger bonds of kinship.
Time of Renewal
An event meant to celebrate the clans very beginning in the wetlands, and the ancestors that have passed since it's creation.
The day before this celebration, all warriors and apprentice's fit for duty will go hunting and return with enough prey for that day and the next -- even border patrols will hunt on their way home to assure enough food is collected. The day of the celebration all cats will remain in camp for a day of rest and invigoration, Socializing among their fellow clan members and listening to tales of old from elders.
They will then spend the night under the stars. It's not uncommon for a cat to see a deceased loved one in their dreams and some may even see long lost ancestors.
Time of Return
An event taking place in Greenleaf celebrating the return to the clan's main clan after the water has receded.
Held the day after returning to the camp, the day before having been spent repairing the water damage and hunting for food. Many cats will leave the camp to collect flowers, stones, feathers, and other small trinkets meant to decorate the camp in celebration of returning to their homes and will spend the evening relaxing with their clan mates.
Day of Affections
An event taking place in mid leaf-fall celebrating the bonds of love, friendship, and loyalty within the clan as well as share gratitude to those who have made a major impact on a cat's life.
This is a small celebration in which all clan members are encouraged to hunt for some kind of gift for another cat they care for, whether it's a bond of Romance, Family, or friendship. The gifts can be anything from prey to flowers and so on and are often picked out of sentimentality to the cat, or cats, of their choice.
Day of Competition
An event taking place in New-leaf some days after moving to the mountain camp meant to allow clan members to show off their skills in friendly competition and take their minds off their flooded home for a time.
Warriors, Apprentices, elders and so on will gather for a series of competitive games in which their skill will be tested against one another -- separated by ranks as to prevent unfair advantages against differing ages.
Elder sports usually bear some light work outs to allow the old cats to stretch their legs and prove who is still the most spritely whilst the larger majority of their games will be knowledge-based games.
Warriors and Apprentices, respectively, will engage in strenuous physical games in the form of races, on both land and in water, mock-battles, climbing, fishing, hunting, and leaping will be played to showcase a cat's talent in these areas.
Territory
 Mossclan's territory encompasses a large stretch of wetlands, the northwest primarily taken up by vast swamp waters while the east is almost entirely Marshlands. Due to this, Lakes and ponds appear in large quantities along the territory, long winding rivers carving their way through the land. A stretch of forest known as "The Dry Forest" extend its way from the Southwest and dwindles away to nothing towards the Northeast, as it's name implies being one of the only dry areas in the territory. In the very Northeastern corner of the territory, the clan claims an area of mountains, however, it is rarely used outside of New-leaf as a campsite -- it's during this time the swamp waters raise many tail lengths and their original camp is submerged until Green-leaf. Scattered remains of twoleg constructions can be found in various parts of the clan, but none closer than their very own camp which uses parts of the ruined twolegs nests in it's construction
Notable Locations
Sunken Trees; The Swampland territory within the clan, named for the great Cypress trees that grow from beneath the swamp's surface up well into the skies themselves.
-- Alligator place - The largest body of water within the Sunken Trees, this place is known for alligators prowling just beneath the surface however they rarely seem to leave this place. Plenty of prey is available but the risk is considered too great for the reward.
-- Mossclan Camp - A section of the territory where the swamps and marshlands meet, undisturbed by alligator activity or the dry forests due to the previous attempts twolegs made in settling in the area. Shack-like homes lay half sunken in the area and the cats have incorporated some of the ruined structures deemed safe enough into the camps construction.
-- To the immediate south of both notable areas is another swamp-y pond thick with Duckweed and Water Hyacinths, It's moderately safe to swim in and some prey can be found in it's depths but it's not recommended as a drinking hole -- most cats perfering the fresher water found in the marshes.
The Dry Forest; An expanse of dry woodland forests bearing common trees such as Oaks, and an extra source of easily accessible prey within the thick undergrowth and dense thickets that grow here. However, it has been known to also be home to Badgers, foxes, and the rare black bear. Rivers cut through the forest from Rockfalls. Deer and Moose often can be found here as well and as long as they are left alone, they seem harmless.
-- Fallen Oaks - No longer considered a threat, oak trees lay rotting alongside rusted twoleg monsters. It is believed that once long ago, twolegs were cutting down the trees in this area in an attempt to establish a twoleg place in the territory. However when their attempt failed this place was deserted as well, leaving the fallen oaks and twoleg building trash behind.
Damp Grass Place; The marshlands expanding along the majority of the territory, riddled with many lakes, ponds and rivers, even the ground often feels damp to the touch. A cat must watch their step to assure they don't mistake ponds bearing high grasses as land or they may just earn a wet surprise. Nevertheless, the waters around here seem clean enough to drink and despite the predator animals common to the area it is relatively safe.
-- Frog pond - A pond where blue frogs come to mate during newleaf, this is a great place to catch frogs during this time. During other seasons, the pond isn't as heavily populated but a fair number of frogs can still be caught.
-- Rock falls - Along the north-eastern area of the Damp grass place, the terrain rises into cliffs and moss covered rock-y rises in the ground that soon turn into mountains reaching well beyond the clan territory. Along a certain path is a multi-tiered waterfall that flows into the rivers that cut through the territory.
-- Shimmering caverns - The place Leaders and Medicine cat's speak to starclan. It is within a cavern behind the waterfall of Rock falls that one must travel to reach the shimmering caverns; a cavern where the very walls glow an unearthly silver when the moon is at its highest. The opening collapsed long ago leaving only a space large enough for a small animal such as a cat to fit through, thus preventing it from dangers lurking inside.
-- Newleaf camp - A small temporary camp built into the mountain side, sheltering the clan during newleaf when the swamp waters have risen and consumed much of the swampland camp. It's not used permanently due to the twoleg activity during Green-leaf and the dangers that Leaf-bare brings; The stone surfaces growing icy and treacherous, easily leading to unnecessary injury and death.
-- Iris lake - A lake named for the thick stalks of iris that grow around the shallow ends of the lake, other herbs seem to grow more commonly around this area making it a hotspot for medicine cats.
-- Silver lake - A lake primarily used for fishing, mainly filled with carp but during a greenleaf silver fish migrate here and seem to turn the lake itself silver, earning it the name.
-- Small Island - centered within a large basin that collects the waters of Rockfalls in a section of land that rises above the water, it is otherwise unremarkable, though it looks as if it could make a fine gathering place were it necessary.

Joining Page Introduction If you haven't already gone through the rules and become accustom to the rank changes, I recommend you head back to the original thread HERE to read up on the rules. Information on the rank changes for this clan can be found HERE.
Deputies will normally be chosen by the clan leader with no admin input, however, if there is neither a leader nor an active deputy to assume the leader's position, I will choose someone myself.
Next, regarding those that want to join as a kit, I do have a special rule for that as I never liked the idea of kits floating around without even an adoptive mother around to care for them. So, you may not join as a motherless kit. You can refer to the 'seeking' board or the OOC thread to request a parental character.
Keep in mind, High ranking characters are required to offer a high level of activity, at least making a roleplay-based appearance once every two weeks. Of course, exceptions can be made to those that inform me ahead of time that they will be absent.
And lastly, Runners as a warrior rank IS limited, after about 3 Runners are selected it's unlikely anymore will be chosen until a current runner dies or retires to the elders den.

Shimmering Cavern Introduction Known as an old mineshaft gone wrong to the twoleg miners, The Shimmering cavern is a deep recess in the earth no longer accessible to twolegs after the entrances collapsed due to poor construction in the mossy earth. Although the true entrance is lost and gone, a small opening only large enough for a small animal such as a cat remains behind the waterfall of Rock falls -- What can only be assumed a failed attempt to extend the mines before their abandonment. An opening in the cavern ceiling allows moonlight to filter inside, this causing the walls embedded with precious stones to come alive in a brilliant light at moonhigh.
It is here that the Leader of Mossclan, and their Medicine Cats may come to speak with starclan in times of need.
All it takes is pressing one's nose to one of the walls and falling into a deep sleep... |

OOC chat & Discussion Introduction Hello, Here you are free to chat among your fellow RPer's of Mossclan and any confirmed neighboring clans.
Discussions can include general chatter all the way to roleplay discussion - including asking around for IC relationships and such.
However, I ask that you keep it clean, as I'd hate to see the thread go down due to... improper content, ahaha.
Though OOC chat isn't banned in the Main thread (Although OOC content is to remain inside brackets there), I always find it more comfortable and rewarding to have a space specifically made to chat amongst each other and grow comfortable with the people you will roleplay with over the course of your stay. It also allows a nice place to discuss the current plot, and offer suggestions!
People interested in joining but unsure who to ask to build an IC relationship with are also free to hop in and make a post -- and I heavily encourage members to respond to these offers and aid one another in building a close clan community!

Warrior Information Clan Ranks Leader;
A single cat that leads the clan and has been blessed with nine lives from starclan. Their word is law and not to be questioned.
Deputy;
Mossclan has two Deputies, the first chosen is the one that shall become the next leader upon the current leader's passing. The second acts as a back up in the event both the leader and the first deputy pass on, this is due to the dangerous nature of the territory.
Medicine Cat;
Those capable of healing the clan through the use of herbs and have the unique ability to speak to starclan, something only leader's themselves are capable of. Mossclan bears two full-fledged medicine cat's at any given time to effectively cover all injuries that may befall their clanmates.
Medicine Cat's Apprentice;
A single apprentice taken on by the two medicine cats, this is to assure the apprentice receives the optimal training from two perspectives -- both in herbs as well as mannerisms which each have their own purpose in raising a proper medicine cat.
Warriors;
The main bulk of the clan, Most cat's will grow to become warriors, however, there are a number of types or subclasses that one may have trained to become, but all know basic warrior skills.
-- Hunters;
One of two subclasses that take up the bulk of the warriors. Hunters, as their name implies, hunt and the cat's with this duty are considered the very best at this task -- Because of this, they're main task will always be hunting, and it will be extremely rare to see them on a patrol unless the clan is short-handed.
-- Fighters;
The second of subclass that take up the most bulk of the warriors. Fighters are trained primarily in fighting, these cat's usually being large and muscular in build, however, smaller cats also have been accepted if they show talent in combat over other duties -- speed-based combat being another form of combat nonetheless. These cats will typically go on patrol alongside trackers. Fighter's also tend to be placed on guard duty, but may go hunting in their spare time, whether alone or with a patrol.
-- Trackers;
Trackers tract, to put it simply. If there is a scent that needs investigation such as a threat or a lost cat, they're sent on the trail, often accompanied by fighters to deal with any trouble. Trackers are heavily trained in memorizing every inch of the territory as they must be the most aware of where they are headed to prevent unnecessary harm to themselves or other cats and know when to stop following a trail that will take them into certain trouble. During their training, Trackers will be exposed to many scents in order to additionally memorize even the strangest of scents, in this way they will often be aware what they're tracking before they see it. Trackers will commonly join Both border patrols AND hunting patrols.
-- Runners;
The swiftest cats, often lean and long-legged. Like Trackers, their training include intense memory based training, although for them it's mainly so they know the quickest way from point A to point B. Runners often act as scouts and messengers as they can quickly. Only a few runners are ever trained at one time, Usually at most two fully trained runners at one time, and only rarely receive apprentices. They are considered valuable but having too many weakens the clan, one usually accompanies the border patrol whilst the other remains in the camp -- the only other significant outings being apprenticeship in which the runner will take their apprentice to begin learning the territory inside and out.
Apprentices;
Cat's between 6-12 moons in training to become warriors of one subclass or another, however, they are divided into initiate and senior apprentices.
-- Initiate Apprentices;
Apprentices between six and eight moons are considered initiate apprentices, these are newly apprenticed cats who do not yet know what they'll be the most skilled in. These cats do not yet have a single mentor and will be trained in groups of other Initiate apprentices by a small number of warriors from one subclass at a time, the mentors and skills being taught and tested switching periodically. This offers the Apprentice's time to learn the basic skills of a warrior and show their stuff in practice. The warriors leading the lessons will, at the conclusion of them, report to the leader and it will be the leader's duty to assign their subclass and announce their choice.
-- Senior Apprentices;
Apprentices between eight and twelve moons have generally been allowed to become Senior apprentices and will have been assigned a single mentor to continue their training in the subclass they have been assigned. At this point, the apprentice's training will be focused on that duty and they will only rarely deviate to practicing other tasks -- though these practice sessions will still be invaluable.
Queens;
Warriors that have become pregnant or are nursing kits will be moved to the nursery and named as queens for the duration. They are not to engage in warrior tasks during this time, and those with apprentices will have these duties revoked and passed on to other warriors to carry on in a queen's absence.
Kits;
Young cats below six moons are known as kits, they remain in the nursery with their mother until they are old enough to be apprenticed, only allowed out when under constant supervision due to the dangers of the swamp.
Elders;
Retired warriors and cats unfit to perform the duties of a warrior will earn their elder names and be allowed to remain in the elders den. Even so, the wise old cats act as a council of sorts for both the Leader and the Deputies in charge of the clan, an invaluable source for both new and experienced cats in such a position.
Warrior Code
1. Defend your clan, even with your life. You may create friendships with those outside the clan, but your loyalty must remain to the clan.
2. Elders, queens, and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
3. Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
4. A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
5. Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
6. A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
7. The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies, retires or is exiled.
8. After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before sunrise.
9. Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.*
10. No warrior can neglect a kit in pain or danger, even if the kit is from outside the clan.
11. The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
12. An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win their battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or if it is necessary for self-defense.
13. A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
* Violence is not always necessary.
Additional Rules
1. Medicine cats MAY have mates but may not have kits of their own.
2. Kits must stay in camp until they are apprenticed and are not allowed to hunt.
3. The safety of the clan is more important than the safety of one cat.
4. Cats cannot eat when going to the Crystal caverns to speak with starclan.
Guide to age
0-6 moons - kit {Kit Age Guide}
6-12 moons (1 year) - apprentice
12-48 moons (1-4 years) - young warrior
48-96 moons (4-8 years) - average/senior warrior
96-144 moons (8-12 years) - senior warrior/elder
144-196 moons (12-16 years) - elder
Punishment
General - For lesser infractions, punishment can be as simple as a good scolding, warriors forced to undergo apprentice duties, or giving an apprentice and unpleasant task, so on and so forth.
Losing rank - For more serious infractions, breaking the code can result in being stripped of their duties.
Retirement - In the cases of Medicine Cats, should they have kits, they will be retired to the elder's den where they will no longer be able to serve the clan.
Exile - In severe cases, such as treason or unjust murder, the cat may be banished from the clan and treated as an enemy from that day forth.
After-death punishment - Cats who would murder for no reason, or have caused pain to others for nothing other than their own enjoyment would also go to the Place of No Stars upon their death.
These are only a guidelines and it is the leader's duty to decide a punishment befitting the crime whether the punishment be one of the above or a punishment of their own. If you break the warriors code, you must obey what your leader chooses as punishment for you.

Fighting Techniques Back Kick - Explosive surprise move to catch opponent from behind. Judge opponent's distance from you carefully, then lash out with your back legs, taking all weight on your front paws.
Belly Rake - A fight-stopper. Slice with unsheathed claws against the soft flesh of the opponent's belly. If you're pinned down, the belly rake quickly puts you back into control.
Front Paw Blow - Frontal attack. Bring your front paw down hard on your opponent's head. Claws sheathed.
Front Paw Strike/Forepaw Slash - Frontal attack. Slice downward with your front paw at the face or body of your opponent.
Killing Bite - A death blow to the back of the neck. Quick and silent and sometimes considered dishonorable. Used only as a last resort.
Leap-and-hold - Ideal for a small cat facing a larger opponent. Spring onto opponent's back and grip with unsheathed claws. Now you are beyond the range of the opponent's paws and in position to inflict severe body wounds. A group of apprentices can defeat a large and dangerous warrior in this way. Watch for the drop-and-roll counter move, and try to jump free before you get squashed.
Partner Fighting - Warriors who have trained and fought together will often fall instinctively into a defensive position, each protecting each other's back while fending off an opponent on either side. Slashing, clawing, and leaping together, battle pairs can be a whirlwind of danger for attackers.
Play Dead - Effective in a tight situation, such as when you are pinned. Stop struggling and go limp. When your opponent relaxes their grip, thinking you are defeated, push yourself up explosively. This will throw off an unwary opponent and put you in attacking position.
Scruff Shake - Secure a strong teeth grip in the scruff of your opponent's neck; then shake violently until they are too rattled to fight back. Most effective against rats, who are small enough to throw. A strong throw will stun or kill them.
Tail Yank - Grab your opponent's tail and yank it with such force your opponent is thrown off balance.
Teeth Grip - Target your opponent's extremities – the legs, tail, scruff or ears – and sink in your teeth and hold. This move is similar to the leap-and-hold except your claws remain free to fight.
Upright Lock - Final, crushing move on already weakened opponent. Rear up on back legs and bring weight down on opponent. If opponent does the same, wrestle and flip them under you. This makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, so it takes great strength and speed.
Half-Turn Belly Rake - Turn onto your side, slip under the opponent's belly, rake it with your claws, then swiftly turn back onto all fours out from under your opponent.
Badger Defense: Leap over opponent, turn on your back legs and bite opponent's leg. Used only when fighting badgers.
Duck and Twist: Simple defensive move. The cat ducks then twists around, rolling over onto their back, and then springs to their paws.
Jump and pin: Complicated move. Leap backwards, and bounce off the wall. With precise accuracy, land on the cat.

Illness
Cough - A mild ailment that tends to come with an irriated or sore throat. Symptoms are just coughs. The best Treatment is Tansy.
Greencough - A sickness similar to pneumonia that is often rampant among the Clans in leaf-bare. Symptoms include wheezing, coughing, pus excreted from the eyes, sneezing, fever, and green phlegm streaming from the nose. The best treatment is Catmint and Feverfew.
Whitecough - A mild sickness like a cold. More common than greencough, but can become greencough or even the fatal blackcough. Symptoms include sneezing, coughing, white phlegm streaming from the nose, and a slightly high temperature. The best treatment is Catmint.
Bluecough - A mild to severe disability that effects how well a cat breaths. Triggers to an bluecough attack include pollen, exercise, smoke, mold, and dust. Other triggers are yet unknown to medicine cats. Best treatment is a daily intake of coltsfoot or juniper berries.
Blackcough - An often fatal sickness that spells almost certain death for any cat who catches it. Symptoms are intense chest pain, weezing, and coughing. It is a rare sickness for the cats, and the best treatment is Catmint.
Yellowcough - A very contagious and severe, if not often deadly sickness that cause loss of appetite, breathing problems, weakness, coughing, and tiredness. There is only one known cure that works known as lungwort but symptoms can be soothed briefly by a herb mixture.
Chills - A very mild ailment usually caused by very cold weather or falling into icy water. Much like whitecough, but with cold chills instead of fever. The best treatment would be Catmint, feverfew, and lavender.
Cracked pads - A painful ailment usually seen in elderly cats. The paw pads crack from cold or dryness, and if untreated can lead to infection. Symptoms include swelling of the paws and pain. The best treatment is Marigold, Dock, and poppy seed if there is pain.
Aching Joints - Basically arthritis in cats. Caused by age or damp weather. Symptoms include pain and stiffness. The best treatment is anything that cures pain other than poppy seeds.
Bleeding - Blood loss due to injury, such as a wound sustained in battle. Severity depends on injury. The best treatment is cobwebs pressed onto the wound. To prevent infection, a poultice may be applied, often including; goldenrod, marigold, burdock root or (in the case of rat bites) wild garlic. The pain can be eased with poppy seeds or willow bark
Infection - Dangerous if untreated, the best treatment is a poultice including chervil or horsetail.
Poisoning - The case of eating deathberries, poisoned fresh-kill, or a snakebite. The best treatment is yarrow, stinging nettle, and in the case of getting bite by a snake use Snake Root.
Sprains - Sprains are injuries to ligaments of a joint, caused by being stretched beyond their normal capacity and possibly torn. It causes severe pain and decreased ability to move the joint. The cat must rest for several days. Poppy seeds can be used to relieve the pain.
Joint Dislocation - Joint dislocation is the displacement of a bone from its normal joint. Medicine cats treat this condition by first feeding the patient poppy seeds to make them sleepy so they don't feel it as much, and then forcing the limb back into the joint.
Broken Bones - A broken bone is usually the result of an accident, such as falling down from a high place,or being hit by a monster. Cats most often break their legs, and while medicine cats try to bind the bone with cobwebs, the injury usually results in the cat remaining crippled for the rest of his or her life. A more severe injury is when a cat breaks his or her backbone. This results in the cat being unable to feel or move parts of his or her body. If the break is bad enough the cat will be killed on or shortly after impact.
Quick Treatment Guide
Aching Joints - Ragwort leaves, Juniper berries, Goldenrod, or Daisy leaves
Bee Stings - Blackberry leaves
Broken Bones - Wrap in cobwebs, put on comfrey pulp, use poppy seeds to dull pain
Bellyache - Chervil, Watermint, or Juniper berries. Also, try a trip to the dirtplace.
Flu/Cold/pneumonia (whitecough or greencough) - Use either Catmint, Honey, or Tansy, and keep the cat away from other cats.
Cuts in Eye - Trickle Celandine juice into the eye to ease the pain.
Deep Wounds - Cobwebs, Marigold, or Horsetail.
Displaced Bones - Give poppy seed, wait for effect, then have cat bite stick while you give the leg a tug and hear it click into place, give them another poppy seed so they sleep.
Dull Pain - Use poppy seed, then when it takes effect preform treatment, give them another to sleep.
Sore Throat - Honey, or water.
Nettle Stings - Dock leaf pulp, give poppy seed so it dulls the pain and helps cat sleep.
Poison - If poison is in stomach, give cat yarrow leaves so they vomit the poison, have them vomit onto dock leaves
Prevent Infection and Soothe Pain for Burns - Comfrey, honey
Poultice for aching joints - Ragwort leaves and juniper berries.
Poultice for broken bones - Stinging nettle and comfrey.
Rat Bites - A poultice of burdock root with cobwebs on top, and horsetail if it is available
Scratches - Marigold, horsetail
Shock - Thyme or Chamomile. Lick fur to comfort, give water and poppy seeds.
Stiffness - Crushed poppy seeds, marigold or comfrey.
Strengthening Herbs - Tansy, watermint, or feverfew.
Toothache - Use alder bark.
Traveling and Strengthening Herbs - Chamomile, burnet, daisy leaves or sorrel. Lambs ear and ragweed also work.
Wrenched Muscles - Comfrey, nettle and/or water therapy.
Gently Nip Spine or Poke with Claw - This tests to see if the backbone is broken, if they don't feel it, then it is broken.
Lick Fur - It clean wounds, brings down shock, and warms a cold cat (lick fur the wrong way).
Moss Soaked in Water - Sick or injured or weak cats can drink, and can be used to cool feverish cats. It is also helpful in kitting.
Rosemary, Mint - This is used to lighten the death-scent of a dead cat before burial. It is also respectful.
Sweeten Herbs - Use necter, honey or mouse blood.
Water Soaking - Hold swelling wound in cold water, it takes down swelling and also soothes scraped pads.
Water Therapy - Have a cat with weak or hurting muscles or bone wade in water, eventually they'll get stronger.
Wailing, Yowling - If the cat does not have a sore throat, it keeps lungs and chest clear.
Yellowcough - Use lungwort to cure; Symstems can be helped with a mixture of coltsfoot, tansey, and borage.
Ceremonies
Leader Ceremony
This Ceremony takes place at the Shimmering Cavern between the leader and the nine cats of Starclan in which the leader is granted their nine lives and the suffix -star.
The new leader goes to the Shimmering Cavern with the Clan's medicine cat. After touching the shimmering walls, the new leader cannot move for a short period of time, because their old life is being ripped away so they can receive nine new ones. Upon awakening, cats of StarClan come down from Silverpelt.
Starclan cats: Welcome, [to-be leader's name]. Are you ready to receive your nine lives?
Leader: I am. *feels as if he/she were dying; Starclan is taking away his/her old life so he can receive new ones*
Starclan Cat #1: "I, [name], give you your first life with the gift of courage, to defend your Clan." *touches noses with leader*
Leader: *gets shock of energy*
Starclan Cat #2: "I, [name], give you your second life with the gift of justice, to judge your Clan fairly." *touches noses with leader*
Leader: *gets shock of energy*
Starclan Cat #3: "I, [name], give you your third life with the gift of loyalty to what you know to be right." *touches noses with leader*
Leader: *gets shock of energy*
Starclan Cat #4: "I, [name], give you your fourth life with the gift of tireless energy, so you can serve your Clan to the utmost." *touches noses with leader*
Leader: *gets shock of energy*
Starclan Cat #5: "I, [name], give you your fifth life with the desire to protect your Clan, as a queen would protect her kits." *touches noses with leader*

All Starclan Cats: *chant* "_______star! _______star!"
Leader: *wakes up*
If a leader no longer wishes to be the leader, they must go to the Moonstone to revoke all but one life, so their deputy may have their full nine lives.
Deputy Ceremony
The leader calls a Clan Meeting, and performs the ceremony by announcing these words:
Leader: I say these words before StarClan, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors (or former deputy name) may hear and approve of my choice. The new deputy of (Clan) is (warrior's name).
Medicine Cat Ceremony
Once the Clan's medicine cat is satisfied with the apprentice's knowledge, they go to the Clans' sacred place (such as the Moonstone). This is the only ceremony that is not performed by the Leader in the camp.The following words are used, by tradition:
Medicine Cat: I, (name), medicine cat of (Clan), call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of a medicine cat, and with your help (he/she) will serve (his/her) Clan for many moons.
Medicine Cat: (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from rivalry between Clan and Clan and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Medicine Cat: Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (new name). StarClan honors your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full medicine cat of (Clan).
The medicine cat rests his or her muzzle on the apprentice's head, and he or she licks the mentor's shoulder.The other medicine cats greet him or her by their new name
Medicine Cat Apprentice Ceremony
The Leader calls a Clan Meeting, after the Clan's medicine cat announces that he or she wishes to mentor an apprentice.The following words are used, by tradition:
Medicine Cat: Cats of (Clan), as you know, I will not be around forever. So it's time I took an apprentice. I have chosen a cat who has shown (virtues). Your next medicine cat will be (apprentice).
Leader: (Apprentice), do you accept the post of apprentice to (medicine cat)?
Apprentice: I do.
Medicine Cat: Then at the half-moon, you must travel to the Moonstone to be accepted by StarClan before the other medicine cats.
Leader: The good wishes of all (Clan) will go with you.
The mentor touches noses with the apprentice, and the Clan greets the new apprentice:
At the next half moon, the medicine cat goes with the apprentice to the Clans' sacred place to present him or her to the warrior ancestors, where the apprentice confirms his or her wish to be a medicine cat(See above Ceremony). The following words are used, by tradition:

Apprentice:It is
Warriors of Starclan, I present to you this apprentice. She has chosen the path of a Medicine cat. Grant her/him your wisdom and insight so that she may understand your ways and heal her clan in accordance with your will. *New Med Cat Apprentice will then lie down before Moonstone*
Warrior Ceremony
Once the mentor is satisfied with the apprentice's progress and skills, he or she recommends them to the leader of the Clan. Then, the apprentice must pass an assessment, when their abilities as a warrior are checked. In cases when the apprentice has just made an important contribution to the Clan, the leader may decide that there is no need for an assessment.If the Clan Leader is satisfied, he or she calls a Clan Meeting and calls the apprentice.The following words are used, by tradition:
Leader: I, (Leader), leader of (Clan), call upon my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/she) has trained hard to understand the ways of your noble code, and I commend (him/her) to you as a warrior in (his/her) turn.
Leader: (Apprentice), do you promise to uphold the warrior code and to protect and defend your Clan, even at the cost of your life?
Apprentice: I do.
Leader: Then by the powers of StarClan, I give you your warrior name. (Apprentice), from this moment you will be known as (new warrior name). StarClan honors your (virtues), and we welcome you as a full warrior of (Clan).
The leader rests his or her muzzle on the apprentice's head, and he or she licks the leader's shoulder. the rest of the Clan then greets the new warrior by calling him or her by their new name. The warrior will sit a silent vigil guarding the camp that night.
Elder Ceremony
An aging warrior, queen, or medicine cat may retire as an elder due to own initiative,when they feel they cannot help the Clan efficiently any more,They report this to the Clan Leader, who calls a Clan Meeting and addresses the warrior.
Leader: (Warrior), is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go to join the elders?
Warrior: It is.
Leader: Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given to us. I call upon StarClan to give you many moons of rest.
The Clan will call out the retired warrior's name and then he or she will go to the elder's den.
Usually, an elder ceremony is held only when a cat retires due to old age. If they are forced to retire because of a severe injury , there is no ceremony.
Apprentice Ceremony
The Clan Leader calls a Clan Meeting to appoint a new apprentice and assign a mentor to him/her.The following words are used, by tradition:
Leader: (Kit), you have reached the age of six moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day on, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as (new name, ending with 'paw'). Your mentor will be (name of warrior). I hope (name of warrior) will pass down all he/she knows to you.
The leader calls up the warrior he/she has chosen as a mentor.
Leader: (Warrior), you are ready to take on an apprentice. You had received excellent training from (former mentor), and you have shown yourself to be (quality) and (quality). You will be the mentor of (apprentice), and I expect you to pass on all you know to (apprentice).
The mentor touches noses with the apprentice, and the Clan greets the new apprentice by calling out his/her name. After this, the apprentice will usually go greet their family, or go see to their mentor.
Other Notable Ceremonies Calling a Clan Meeting
To begin the meeting, the leader climbs to a high place where all cats gathered below can see and hear them well.He or she opens the meeting with the words "Let all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather here beneath the Highrock (or Highledge) for a Clan meeting".This type of call has only been verified for ThunderClan. RiverClan's call is: "Let all cats old enough to swim gather to hear my words!" WindClan's and ShadowClan's calls have not been revealed yet. Once having the attention of all cats, he or she passes the message or performs the required ceremony.
Dying Apprentice
When an apprentice is on the verge of death and has proven him/herself to be worthy of a warrior name, there is a special ceremony used so that the apprentice may take a warrior name to StarClan.
Leader: I ask my warrior ancestors to look down on this apprentice. (He/She) has learned the warrior code and given up (his/her) life in the service of (his/her) Clan. Let StarClan receive (him/her) as a warrior. (He/She) will be known as (new name).
Name Changing
The leader calls a Clan Meeting,and performs the change with the following words:
"Spirits of StarClan, you know every cat by name. I ask you now to take away the name from the cat you see before you, for it no longer stands for what he/she is. By my authority as Clan leader, and with the approval of our warrior ancestors, I give this cat a new name. From this moment on he/she will be known as (new name), for (description of the reason)."
Warrior's Vigil
Newly appointed warriors are required to stay awake for the entire night after they received their warrior name,as decreed by the Warrior Code. They guard the camp in silence, while the other Clan members have a good rest.
Vigil for the Dead
If a Clan cat dies, his/her body is taken to the center of the camp, and several of their Clanmates, usually the cat's family members and close friends, sit vigil for them through the night, sharing tongues for the last time before the elders bury the cat in the morning. There can also be vigils for cats without bodies and suspected dead, A body isn't buried, but the cats still sit vigil.

Mossclan & Galeclan Introduction This thread is meant to provide a more detailed log of familial relations for every cat in the clans as well as their familial bonds outside of the clans. It also acts to provide an easy means to show open relationships that can be filled by other characters as well as any specific details that would come with that.
This is, by no means, a mandatory part of existing within Mossclan or Galeclan, but it's here to help those that want to build more connections to other characters. Basic information from the General application regarding relationships will be noted here by default, but more in depth information is your choice to submit, regardless a table will be locate below and you can contact me with all the relevant information to have it added if you so wish. |

Tribe of Winding Caves
A tribe primarily residing beneath the earth itself in winding tunnels. Likely beneath the raised heathlands to the south of Galeclan and extends under Galeclan. Pre-dates the clan and likely aided in the clan's settlement upon the Wetlands and Moorlands.
Tribe location is underground with winding tunnels that take them under Galeclan territory, though the main bulk of their home is in a Karst near the gorge. Multiple camps connected by these tunnels.
Use Mixtures of plants and animal components to disguise their scent/presence both to prey, Predators and non-tribe cats, would be applied to fur. Sometimes holes are dug to the surface and are disguised as 'rabbit holes' to surface dwellers, providing some light to the tunnels below.
Existence is believed to be a myth among the clans, the cats themselves fairly secretive.
Name conventions are primarily the same, though, Leader/Healers will still be referred to by their birthname to those they are close to such as friends and family. They will be referred to as their title of Stoneteller in formal situations.
Tunnel-Diggers; Cats with strong claws that expand tunnels and assure structural integrity for safety.
Surface-Walkers; Cats allowed to leave the tunnels, usually for special tasks. Actively avoid Clan territory on the surface unless impossible to do otherwise.
These cats rely heavily on their night vision and hearing due to living in tunnels beneath the surface, but as a result are sensitive to bright light.

Signs of cats outside the clans have become more common place in recent moons, beginning to extend far beyond the normal boundries of twoleg areas. This comes to a head when a Patrol of Galeclan cats is found murdered after a supposed ambush in their own territory, Thistleheart and Shadowstep are the only survivors. However, Galeclan cats are not all to be found among the bodies. Non-clan cats smelling of carrion are found among them as well as cats bearing a unified scent of dampness and earth unfamiliar to any cats present. However, it is the faint traces of Mossclan that causes an uproar.
Due to Shadowstep's suspicious disappearance before the fight, and his Mossclan roots, speculation begins to spread through the camp that he might have assisted in the death of the Patrol, this theory only growing with his silence.

Wise and Unflinching Introduction Before you lies the home of a hidden tribe, stretching from a Karst within the mountains to well under the clan territories and even beyond these borders, the full extent is only known to the Tribe of Winding Caves themselves. The great limestone caverns eat into fairly unreachable mountain sides, primarily notable alongside the gorge where faint shadows can sometimes be seen flickering among the stalagmites, though sound is drowned out by the roaring river below. Meticulously crafted tunnels carve through the ground unknown by the clan cats above, and the cats of this tribe have made sure to keep it this way. The territory provided is limitless and ever expanding but not without dangers of their own.

Characteristics
The cats of The Tribe of Winding Caverns are clever cats, if not somewhat rigid in their traditional values and secretive by nature. They have long lived here, since before even the clans themselves of which they aided in settling into the harsh environments, and take pride in this heritage -- ever expanding and seeking new ways to preserve their way of life independent of the lands above. The Karsts and tunnel systems provide them a unique expanse of territory that ever parallels but rarely meets the the other clans, though they have many ways of keeping tabs on the surface Dwellers. This is often through well disguised openings bearing herbal mixture and prey components to hide any scent of non-clan cat, a clever mastery unique to these cats alone. These cats come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes, though their duties are often decided long before they are strong enough to venture from their mothers based on the characteristics of their forms and coat colors. The nature of their Karst home also gives them unique access to rare herbs as well as improved senses in the darkness but has also made them somewhat sensitive to bright light.

No "special snowflakes"
No godmodding, Unrealistic powers or colors, spotlighting, so on and so forth. Even those in key plot roles shouldn't be perfect beings that soak up all the attention ever.
Semi-literate
Four or more sentences is required, a full paragraph(Five sentences) or more is perfered. Additionally, use grammar and do your best to spell correctly. Mistake happen but be legible.
High Rank positions
No member may play more than a single high rank at one time. If their character in such a position dies, they are eligible for a highrank position again should one become available.
No-Consent killing
Fatal wounds are fatal, be realistic in this aspect and keep in mind that killing is considered a dishonorable act.
Activity & Consistency
I require members to be active at least once every two weeks if not more, those who fail to abide by this rule will receive consequences in the order of; A warning, Temporary removal, and if the before do not clear up the problem the final result will be erasure of your character and the implication of death. Additionally, it's important to stay active when your character is engaged in a roleplay -- try not to leave your fellow members hanging ♡
A Kit-Mother may have up to four kits per litter.
LGBTQ+ content is allowed but be reasonable about it.

Tribe History Long before the present clans ever set food on the territories now claimed by Mossclan and Galeclan, The Tribe of Winding Caves had long since existed beneath the earth and within the Karsts that had formed and expanded through the mountain areas now refered to as "The Gorge", the roaring river ever present in splitting the mountains in two. Even back in those days, the cats of the tribe rarely ventured to the surface, that which they could catch in their sunless home plenty to support their tribe, which is to say that the surface remained accessible but always treated as though a strange realm ill-befitting them.
Although, grateful for the lands provided to them, they desired nothing but the lives they lived and perhaps this with the greater need of the cat known as Moss who long travelled for a new home was what led to the signs from their ancestors, imposing upon them the desire to aid these wandering cats. Thus did the Tribe of Winding Caves reach out to their homeless bretheren and aid them in establishing a home of their own.. the only thing they desired was for the Mossclan to pay this good deed forward and leave the Tribal cats in peace. Thus did Mossclan keep this promise until the name of the tribe vanished from the tales told among the clans, but Starclan would not forget their promise and thus was Galeclan formed, ever unaware of the cats that lived beneath their very paws.

Tribe Holidays The holidays Mossclan would develop were heavily inspired by the tribe's own festivities, they all too keen to share ideas in the formation of the clan. As such, they have a number of holidays, many similar to those carried out by the clans.
Night of Rememberance
A night during the end of the time of frozen water in which the cats of the tribe pay tribute to important events that occured during that year and pray for good tidings in the next.
The day prior is spent collecting prey for a feast as well as baubles such as smooth stones or flowers, often in rememberance of a fallen cat of grat value to the individual cat. During the night, these gifts are placed within the river just outside the camp's entrance, the belief being that these items will be carried away to where their ancestors await. The cat will then feast and share tales and stories of their ancestors and those they have lost. Elders in particular seem to enjoy regaling kits and apprentices with tales of old.
Tales of the formation of the clans are also popular stories.
Day of Affections
This is a celebration help mid Time of Colored Water celebrating the bonds of love, friendship, and loyalty within the tribe as well as share gratitude to those who have made a major impact on a cat's life.
This is a small celebration in which all clan members are encouraged to hunt for some kind of gift for another cat they care for, whether it's a bond of Romance, Family, or friendship. The gifts can be anything from prey to flowers and so on and are often picked out of sentimentality to the cat, or cats, of their choice. It is also common for kits to be concieved around this time of year.
Day of Competition
An event taking place in The Time of Calm Water meant to allow tribe members to show off their skills in friendly competition and reinvigorate themselves in preperation of the rest of the year.
Cave-Guards, Prey-Hunters, Tunnel-Diggers, Whisper-Seekers, To-bes, Elders and so on will gather for a series of competitive games in which their skill will be tested against one another -- separated by Age groups to prevent unfairness.
Elder sports usually bear some light work outs to allow the old cats to stretch their legs and prove who is still the most spritely whilst the larger majority of their games will be knowledge-based games.
All others, of each age group respectively, will engage in strenuous physical games in the form of races, mock-battles, climbing, fishing, hunting, and leaping will be played to showcase a cat's talent in these areas.
Territory
 The Tribe of Winding Caves is primarily located within a karst deep in the mountains located in the northern part of Galeclan's territory, primarily referred to as "The Gorge" to clan cats. This is also where the Tribe's camp can be located, though deeper inside. Unbeknownst to the clan cats, the tribe expands well under the moorlands in a series of tunnels and small caves dug by paw which allow them to easily travel the territory unknown where they will also occasionally catch the rabbit, hare or mouse that burrows into the earth. Some tunnels lead into Mossclan territory, however the wet earth and numerous lakes have made it fairly unsafe and thus most tunnels have been left to collapse in that territory.

Notable Locations
The Karst; Located around the gorge, the mountains are underlain by limestone which has been worn away by sources of water. This has created a large system below the mountain featuring caves, stalagmites, sinkholes and various channels of water.
-- The Gorge; A narrow valley etched into the mountains with a river flowing beneath it. Lower in the valley are open faces that lead into the Karst. They are aware of the bridge that runs above them, and typically seek not to be seen by those crossing it, but otherwise care little about it.
-- Twoleg Mountain Camp; Although located on the mountains, the Tribe cats never travel above ground, let alone this high in the mountains, and though they are aware of twoleg activity, it almost never appears close enough to affect them.
Moorlands; Whereas the cats of the tribe have no use for the moors above, they have a variety of tunnel systems below that alow them easy travel from one area to another and Prey-Hunters will often use the tunnels to hunt burrowing prey such as Rabbits, Hares, and the rare Mole.
-- Heather Beds; A good source of herbs that cannot otherwise be grown in the Karst. However, since this does require coming above ground to collect the herbs, it is very rare and generally based on urgent necessity. Most herbs, however, can be replaced with alternatives or simp;y found closer to home.
-- Sunning Stones; As above ground objects, the sunning stones hold no value for the tribe, however, tunnels have been dug up to small crevices against the stones that Whisper-Seekers will often use to listen in on conversations from clan cats in the area without detection.
-- Galeclan Camp; A carefully guarded secret between the Stoneteller and the Whisper-Seekers, certain tunnels have been dug beneath Galeclan Camp that allow them to hear the Clan in their most secure place. These tunnel 'openings' are located in various locations around the camp but tucked in places naturally unseen.
Twolegplace; Generally avoided save for unique herbs only found in twoleg gardens, the tunnel systems extend under certain known gardens containing these herbs. Tunnelling in the area is fairly uncommon, though, due to the tendency to run into strange twoleg contraptions under ground or hit blocks of stone and wood.
-- Forest west of the twolegplace; Although not as common as the Moors, tunnelling under the forest is fairly common and provides Prey-Hunters access to mice, voles and various burrowing prey that find their ways into the underground. However, Tunnel-Diggers must be careful not to tunnel into Fox or Badger Dens as well as roots of large trees and bushes and Prey-Hunters must be careful not to run into a stray predator that may have dug into their tunnels themselves. A number of herbs can also be found here in dire circumstances.
-- Twoleg Farm; Tunnels under this area tend to have a lot of wiry roots that, although not difficult to cut through, tend to be a nuisance and the dirt can be to soft for proper tunnels closer to the surface; Primarily under the Mouse Fields. As such the possibility of the mice burrowing into the tunnels is often unlikely and not worth the trouble. However, there are certain tunnel systems that lead to a small garden closer to the Farm house where certain special herbs can be collected, much like the twoleg place gardens.
