As Aqua said, this isn't really a question others should be answering for you. If you plan to keep following modern Warriors books, then yes, of course it's necessary to read it, even though it's not a very good book. If you don't really care about keeping up with the series, then... don't, I guess? But if that's the case I'm surprised you're considering it at all.

Depends on your ethics, but I'd say just download the PDF (You can find it online/on reddit). I agree that it's essential to keep up with current events, but imo it's so fillery that I think the wiki summary, once it's updated, will be enough.

I personally like analysising all the bad stuff in it. Honestly I've hate the whole AVOS so far. I can't understand anyone who thinks thunder and shadow or shattered sky are good. They're both broken beyond belief.
