t i g e r s t a r [ dawn | thunderclan | near sunningrocks on thunderclan's side ] Shooting a glare at Dawnwatcher, the tom faced Lilycloud again. "You know I lost kits of my own, why act like my words are an attack? Is it because I mentioned a weakness with WindClan?" the tabby tom asked. Dawnwatcher wouldn't be happy with him, but at the moment, he didn't care. She shouldn't be acting like this with him in front of an enemy. He flashed another look to Dawnwatcher and added something to ease the tension of the kits discussion. "At least some of them were properly named before death. Some kits don't get that opportunity. It's quite unfortunate." he almost hissed, giving Dawnwatcher a side glare. Her kits lived longer than his did. Cloudkit and Blossomkit died almost moments after they were born. Talonstar never even bothered asking for their names. He felt the rekindling of their friendship drifting away and right now, he didn't mind. Dawnwatcher made him look foolish and cruel, and she was falling for Lilycloud's sympathy. He didn't like it, but leaving now would only make him look pathetic. He'd love to send Dawnwatcher back to camp, but what if Lilycloud had a small patrol with her? He'd be ambushed in a heartbeat. [@stormpetal , @silvey , & fuzzle]

(*please don't let me have ruined their chances together, please don't let me have ruined their chances together, please don't let me have ruined their chances together)
Bearing her fangs so slightly it was barely noticeable, the young warrior was right now strongly fighting back the urge to claw her leader over the ears. His insinuations had been cruel, she didn't care about rank in that moment, his words had hurt her. She gave him a glowering stare, tears twinkling in her eyes as she let out the low growl. "Do you really think Blossomkit and Cloudkit would be proud of what you just said?" She challenged. She had mourned his kits along with him, as he had done with hers. She couldn't believe he would talk about the death of a kit so carelessly, with so much malice to his tone of voice. She was angry.
Trying to force her voice to sound reasonable, "Your only intentions were cruel in even mentioning them Tigerstar. And I wont let the memory of any kit, regardless of if it was one of my own be tainted with words like that." Her head bowed, again she found herself fighting back the images of her two little kits lying dead in their nest.
"I couldn't do them right in life, I wont fail them in death. Maybe you should think about that."

t i g e r s t a r [ dawn | thunderclan | near sunningrocks on thunderclan's side ] Tired of her actions, the tabby tom turned and faced the she-cat. His was large in size, so he towered her. He glared at the she-cat, striking more of a nerve than the RiverClan she-cat they were "talking" to. "In the world we're in, they'd understand not dare to challenge me in front of another Clan." he snarled, his tail flickering back in forth in agitation. He wished he could bring up what she said about Talonstar, but that'd make him look weak. "If you can't handle this, perhaps you should go back to camp." he hissed as he leaned closer into her ear. His blue eyes were blazing with fury and he could only look at Lilycloud, no longer hiding his rage. "It seems you two can only deliver blows and not take them. You're both warriors and life isn't fair. I know from experience." he stepped away from Dawnwatcher, padding closer to the border. "Maybe instead of acting innocent and clean, reflect on your own actions, words, and the actions of your pathetic Clan. I'm not a newborn kit. The moment you talked to us, you intended to instigate a battle. Now I suggest you step away from the border and go to your rocks." His claws were unsheathed and he wanted nothing more than to pull her over the border and absolutely shred her. He then turned his back towards Dawnwatcher. He stalked towards her like she was a mouse. He leaned into her ear, anger dripping from his words. "Don't ever treat me like that in front of the other Clans. You made me look like a fool and simply allowed her an excuse to act like such a foxheart. I am your leader." Of course, he wasn't in the right, but he certainly didn't appreciate how she acted towards him. After this, he wasn't sure if their friendship would remain intact. It would depend on how time would heal this. Though he'd make certain that she would be nowhere near him. Until a deputy was assigned, he'd give her patrols far away from him. The tabby tom would also make sure she wouldn't be on the battle patrol to reclaim Sunningrocks. If she was going to go along with Lilycloud, she didn't deserve to help bring glory to their Clan. He was being petty, yes, but she truly set him off. [@stormpetal , @silvey , & fuzzle]

"You made yourself look like a fool, Tigerstar," the warrior replied almost terrifyingly calm now. Trying not to cower in the great shadow he cast, she stared up at him and tried not to show that she felt half as scared as she was in fact feeling. But her fury burned through her fear, "I never thought you'd forget your own daughters like that." Her words were quiet, careful to make sure the enemy wouldn't hear her low blow, but she found truth in the words which slipped from her lips like venom from the bite of a snake. "At least I remember what has been lost, and don't use it as a weapon." Dawnwatcher's claws were carefully sheathed, even if she did fight back the urge to shred the ears of her leader for even suggesting what he had done.
Under normal circumstances she wouldn't have dared to challenge her leader, let alone a friend. But this was a subject she wasn't simply going to let alone. No cat deserved to have the death of a kit thrown in their face like Tigerstar had just done to the enemy. Dawnwatcher blamed herself enough for the deaths of Primrosekit and Snowkit, she wasn't going to accept her leader treating them like that. Even if he had her exhiled.
But with that she knew she had probably lost the last of what she'd had from a lifetime before. When times were happier, in a time where she could remember what joy was instead of the pain and grief which still plagued her to this day. She didn't want to lose him as a friend, but had probably finally lost everything.

Lilycloud
Riverclan | Near Sunning rocks on Riverclan Side| Duckstar, Tigerstar, and Dawnwatcher | Dawn
The fluffy white she-cat gave a growl towards the Thunderclan leader before she left she gave a cold harsh glare. "At least I can admit I'm a fox-hearted she-cat." She wanted to say more but thought it was best not too, after all, she was probably going to get an earful from Duckstar. She headed off the rocks and back facing them, she honestly could say Tigerstar was not a coward. While she was upset with Duckstar, she needed to cool off. Can't believe I let that arrogant tom get under my fur, she thought bitterly towards herself. She cursed under her breath as she headed back to where Duckstar was. Her tail flickering around with aggravation.

featherpaw ⇢ thunderclan | near sunningrocks on tc's side
Feeling grass and undergrowth tickle his belly, Featherpaw crouched closer to the ground beneath him. He was careful not to make a sound, keeping his body as still as possible. His shoulders were hunched, and the silver tom kept his tail raised just slightly above the ground to keep from stirring any fallen leaves. Perfect posture, Featherpaw thought to himself vainly. Turning his attention back on the cats just a ways away from him, Featherpaw narrowed his green eyes into slits. The figures of Tigerstar and Dawnwatcher were obvious to him, though the other cat (or, cats) that they were speaking with were out of his sight, obscured by grass. Even though he couldn't see them, Featherpaw could definitely infer that they were speaking with RiverClan scum. He had watched the whole spectacle with unconcealed disgust. RiverClan cats weren't even worthy of being looked at by ThunderClan cats, yet here their mighty and grand leader was, throwing petty insults at the fishbreaths. This mouse-brain has the time to act like a kit in front of another Clan instead of training me. Featherpaw bit back a growl, muffling it as best as he could. There would be no point in his perfect, orderly sneaking position if he was going to give himself away because he couldn't control his feelings. Still, the young cat found himself struggling to reign in his feelings of frustration and irritation. The dark brown tabby in front of him was his leader, and somehow his mentor, but it was almost like Featherpaw was the mentor in their relationship. Tigerstar seemed to not care for the silver tabby; but that wasn't anything new to him. He already knew that the only cat who cared anything about him was him, after all. Featherpaw didn't need nor care for Tigerstar's attention. Yet here he was in the end, despite his harsh thoughts, watching his mentor from the grass with vexation in his eyes.

t i g e r s t a r [ dawn | thunderclan | near sunningrocks on thunderclan's side ] The tabby tom flattened his ears as Dawnwatcher spoke. Lilycloud had said her piece and left. Now the ThunderClan leader turned his fury towards his Clanmate once more. "You think I've forgotten them? You think it's easy to use them against another Clan?" he questioned. He shoved his muzzle in her face. "Losing kits isn't easy. Using them against another Clan isn't easy. You criticize my words, yet what do you say when the Clans send cats that aren't even fully grown into battle? We call them apprentices yet they're seen as kits by their parents. Stop acting so sensitive because of what you lost. You at least got some time with them. I didn't even get to greet mine. The moment Acornfall brought them into this world, StarClan extinguished their flame." Tigerstar shook his head and closed his eyes. His breathing was heavy and his pelt was hot with rage. He furrowed his brow, ignoring the urge to wail in grief. Part of him hated how he used the sensitive topic of the death of kits. But then again, how would he know how to truly act around them when StarClan never gave him a chance. He looked up at the she-cat, for once the "brave" and "grand" leader looked tired and defeated. The fire in his eyes faded and all he wanted to do was to get away from Dawnwatcher. What he said wasn't easy and instead of trying to understand why, she just made it worse. The tabby looked into the ferns and undergrowth, not spying Featherpaw. When he spoke again, regret trickled like water from his words. "I'm going back to camp. I need to find Featherpaw." he paused, turning away from the gray she-cat and taking a step forward. "Please, if you go back, go a different way. I'd like space after what you've done." With that, he padded away. Now what she said was sinking in and his temper had gottwn the best of him. He was too stubborn to apologize, though. Instead he wanted to be with other cats. He didn't want to think about Dawnwatcher. She reminded him of the past and made him feel.. omething he couldn't quite put a finger on. Though all he could remember around her were Frostheart, Acornfall, Cloudkit, Blossomkit, Primrosekit, and Snowkit. [@stormpetal , @silvey , & fuzzle]

Dawnwatcher’s gaze followed the tom she’d once considered a close friend as he walked away, her heart was breaking more with every step he took but she did nothing to stop him leaving. She was all too used to the toms she loved leaving her, by now it was surprising that there was anything left of her heart to be broken. The warrior queen was now silently crying but she held herself together enough to say with a quiet tone of voice. “Goodbye, Tigerstar,” and with that she’d bounded away as fast as her paws would take her.

featherpaw ⇢ thunderclan | near sunningrocks on tc's side
Hearing the sound of his name, Featherpaw's ears pricked in interest. So Tigerstar actually knows my name? Fascinating. He watched his mentor's outburst, his eyes still narrowed. Featherpaw didn't feel an ounce of sympathy for him; every cat has lost someone. And if they haven't - they will. It was simply a fact of nature, the consequence of getting too attached to another. Featherpaw had never known his parents. His father had died during the battle for Sunningrocks, and his mother had disappeared shortly after kitting him. Rumors swarmed that she had left for the easy life of a kittypet, and these rumors had clung to Featherpaw like burrs. He knew every cat regarded him as soft, like his mother, and he had decided from a young age that he would be different. Different from his parents, different from cats like Tigerstar. Featherpaw didn't need to rely on anyone but himself. He would be perfect, precise, efficient - he had to be. Seeing Tigerstar begin to walk away from the struck Dawnwatcher, the silver tabby shot the she-cat one last, disgusted look. Her softness repulsed him; showing sympathy for a RiverClan cat? Featherpaw wanted to scoff. Tigerstar had been acting foolhardy, but the she-cat wasn't much better. Even if he had been acting like a kit, embarrassing their leader in front of the enemy, no matter how weak he was, was a disgraceful act. Featherpaw lifted his body and began to follow Tigerstar. He remained in his crouched position, deftly trailing him through the grass like a snake. For such a young apprentice, his skills were honed and exact. But not because of his mentor's training, oh no. It was because of Featherpaw's own determination, the promise to himself to be flawless. Momentarily distracted by his own thoughts, the tom's young age and relative inexperience shown through, as if to mock him, and he felt his paw snag on a root underneath him. The root held firm to his paw, causing him to break his hunting crouch and trip onto the ground in front of him. Gracefully hopping back to his paws and straightening up, Featherpaw felt embarrassment warming his pelt at his blunder. No matter - Tigerstar wouldn't even know that he had messed up on accident. "Petty words you exchanged with those fish-breaths. I thought you were supposed to be our mature leader?" Featherpaw mewed loudly even though he knew Tigerstar had already been alerted to his presence by the sound of him tripping and getting up. The silver tabby was expressionless, as usual, though his sharp green eyes remained narrowed.
