How do think it would of effected the story if that certain character killed Ashfur? How would they kill him and would be the drive/reaction to it afterward?
Also what do you think the real world reaction be. How would the character's reputation shift? How would Ashfur debates change, would the new character who killed Ashfur be accused of being evil and deserving of the Dark forest by some fans like Hollyleaf was? (Though it noteworthy that they'd have less of a case, considering Hollyleaf also tried to kill Leafpool. Unless the murder of Ashfur encouraged the new character to try and go after someone else.)

I picked Squirrelflight and Leafpool. It would have been pretty cool to see Squirrelflight get revenge or Leafpool doing for allowing the secret to be spilled

It would be interesting to see how a Medicine cat like Leafpool or Jayfeather would kill Ashfur. Especially, considering they only have basic battle training, so they couldn't kill Ashfur up front, as he'd be able to easily overpower them. So they'd need to kill him some way. Imagine the scene, it's just a few hours before the gathering, but its eerily calm, with everyone causally sharing tongues and prey, blissfully unaware of what's about to unfold. At the clear's edge, Lionblaze and Hollyleaf desperately trying to come up with last-minute ideas to stop Ashfur. Hollyleaf then suggests killing him. But just then, while Ashfur is talking to Ferncloud, he begins choking and foaming at the mouth collapsing. Jayfeather appears behind his littermates, whispering there's no need, he's already had it taken care of.

Leafpool or Lionblaze honestly. Leafpool in desperation to keep the secret and hides it perfectly, or Lionblaze to cement the fact that deep down he has a potential to be brutal and dark and he has to choose to give up morals to protect his family.

Maybe Lionblaze to make him even more insane due to actually killing a cat this time.
It could also be Breezepelt to kick-start his dark turn to the Dark Forest.
And MAYBE Sol indirectly, because he wouldn't want to get his own paws dirty.

Would that give Sol some kind of advantage? My best guess, is that he would manipulate Ashfur's killer to go through with it, in order to have something to manipulate them with later on, becuase they feel guilty about it. |

For optimum satisfaction, I would want it to be Squirrelflight. The problem is, I don't see her being capable of doing something like that. She (and Leafpool) would be the type to tell Firestar about the attempted murder and try to have Ashfur banished.
I voted for Lionblaze because he is the only one I see other than Hollyleaf killing him. Lionblaze has a temper so that and his need to protect his siblings would drive him to kill Ashfur. Having trained with Ashfur due to him being Lionblaze's mentor, I feel like Lionblaze would have a good grasp on Ashfur's moves. But, if Lionblaze were to do the deed it wouldn't have been as stealthy as Hollyleaf, because Lionblaze isn't the most subtle cats. Then again, Lion snuck around with Heathertail then he has some stealth. I don't see Jayfeather as the type to kill Ashfur based on his shock at Hollyleaf and her feelings of bloodlust while killing Ashfur, but then again before Sunrise I never would have seen Hollyleaf as a murderer. Jayfeather might have it in him, even though we never seen him contemplate murder before. //shrugs//

Probably Lionblaze. His power being unstable as it is, I can't help but easily see him going off on Ashfur in an attempt to protect his siblings fiercely if Hollyleaf wasn't to do the murder.
If not him I'm leaning towards Squirrelflight secondly.
Well... Maybe not kill him entirely, I can't see her doing that ever, but it was still obvious during the fire that she oh SO wanted to deck his F-ing tail to Sundrown Place and I would've loved to see that.

Lionblaze because out of all of them I think he has the most potential to kill another cat if it means protecting what he loves. Ashfur was also an awful mentor to Lionblaze and tried to murder him twice so it would be karma.
