"Well, I had a hunt and a patrol planned for this afternoon, with myself and Gavin," Henry smiled, scratching his chin as he spoke. Taking a breath, he glanced at his brother who simply shrugged. The alpha sometimes didn't like forcing his pack mates into doing such things. He still allowed them to have freewill, but he did have the authority to make them bow to him, especially in his wolf form. His time as an alpha hadn't been an easy one. Jeremy had stepped down in the mist of all the packs turning on each other since his father had no choice but to kill the Russian Alpha because he was a traitor. That was definitely a defining moment in Henry's life. He learned to only keep himself in good graces with his father and pack. Treason and being untrustworthy could cost one its life. When he finds out about whom injured and traumatized his son, they would pay for their crimes in the highest fashion.

Gavin glanced at his alpha brother who raised a slight eyebrow. The two boys had always had a secret code, ever since they were young. They were nearly fifteen years apart, but the two enjoyed each other's company. Gavin turned his face and body to fully face Simon who was seated at the table. The older wolf leaned down and rested his elbows on the table, holding up his head. A dark brown woven bracelet rested on Gavin's left wrist. He never told anyone who or what it was for, but inscribed a faded monogramed letter of a B. "Henry and I were talking about going down to the west side of the property, close to the lake. It's quiet and very sheltered. I know we haven't hunted down there in a while. Not since you were young, if I recall correctly."

Henry nodded, chiming in. "You used to love playing in the shallow water and fishing there. You bragged once that you caught an alligator which don't actually live there." He laughed, reminiscing in the memory. "You were much cuter back then."

(Woof where do you get your image links from cuz mine are not wanting to work )
Simon didn't notice the silent exchange between the two brothers because he was too focused on eating his food. He was always a bit of a picky eater, strange for a werewolf, sure but he had always been a bit of an odd duck. He scooped out the innards of the deviled eggs before beating the whites out of all of them. Then he ate the yolk-mixture, only looking up when Gavin got a little bit too close, leaning back in his chair to create a good distance between the two of them still as he listened. He looked over when Henry chimed in, offering a faint, maybe even sad, smile when he was told that he was cuter back then. "Maybe... I could go with? I'd like to see the water again," He suggested hesitantly, picking at his yolk as he thought back at the las time they went to the lake. He had to have been ten.

"Of course you can come!" Henry smiled, walking up behind him speaking softly and placed a hand comfortingly on Simon's shoulder. "It wouldn't be any fun without you." The loved Simon like a son and officially adopted him at age seven. He knew Simon a lot better than he used to, but he wished he would be as energetic and chatty like he used to be. He accepted and loved the kid always, but he liked to actually talk to the teen and not get shrugs or shaken heads.

"I'd like to go before it gets too hot," Gavin replied before Henry could do so, walking over to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water before shutting the door. He untwisted the cap and started to drink, the water disappearing from the plastic. Shortly after, when the water level was right above halfway full, he chucked the water that was left onto his brother and nephew, a large smile plastered on his face, a laugh emanating from his throat.

Henry yelped in exclamation, leaping back from the table, his shirt and his face soaking wet. Dripping with water, a smile spread across his own face as he wiped it with his large hand. "Gav, come on! Seriously!" But he couldn't stop laughing, rushing towards his brother who ducked around the bigger wolf, running out the back door where the two began to tussle on the ground, leaving the door wide open.

Truthfully, the fight didn’t last very long. It ended with Gavin getting his head jerked to the side on the ground, held down by Henry and his arm twisted behind his back. Gavin finally gave up and He eh laughed, letting up his brother. He then ruffled Gavin’s hair and pushed his head away as he stood up. He then began to unbutton his shirt. ”Simon, come on! Let’s go!” He called out softly, still laughing.

Simon looked up at the call, a small smile touching his tired features, before nodding. He wasn't too surprised that Gavin lost, Henry always won, but it was kind of funny to watch the struggle and the fact that Gavin wouldn't admit defeat so easily. Seeming to fall back into his vow of silence he just flashed the other to another smile before pulling off the tank top he'd been wearing, not looking totally forward to the shift, because it was always painful. Once he was finished taking off his clothes he took a deep breath, calling forward his ability to shift, gritting his teeth as he cried out in pain. He could feel his bones snapping, forcibly changing, and soon in his place was a rather small, three legged, black wolf.

Removing his clothing and neatly folding them up, he placed them on the back patio then leaned down against the ground and willed himself to change. Gritting his teeth and letting out a painful snarl, a wolf snout appeared on his face followed by his hands and back legs forcing forward, haunches forming. Moments later, standing on his four legs, stood a mud brown wolf with chestnut brown eyes. He quickly shook out his fur and waited for Henry to phase.

Henry followed suit of his brother, neatly folding his clothes and forcibly making his bones crack and break. He had never felt anything so painful. Even being a werewolf, and the healing process was quick, nothing ever made the changing part any less hurtful. Growling through the pain, moments later appeared an even darker brown, nearly black wolf and dark blue eyes. Tossing his head, he started off at a slow trot, heading off into the forest that lined all sides of their property. He lifted his head to taste the air. The scent of rabbit and squirrel hung in the air and he howled, bringing the two wolves with him.

Henry led the group, protectively running slowly alongside of his son to make him feel safe. The speed of the wolf brought them down to the near private pond the pack had. Stopping at the edge of shoreline to scratch an itch beneath his chin, and sniffed the air. A squirrel had just hopped down from the nearby tree to eat a beech nut at the root base. Henry inclined his head toward the creature, nudging Simon in that direction. Go on, his eyes said confidently.

The dark haired young woman made her way up the paved one way drive. She paused at the end of the two stone columns that marked the way up to the house. Glancing at the engraved lettering on the columns, she took a deep breath, making her realize she was indeed in the right place. A wolf howled in the distance and her heart began to race, looking around uneasily. What was she about to walk into? She prayed that no one would be home to greet her so she could practically run away. Biting her lip, she forced herself to walk past the columns and made her way towards the mansion, wearily looking around as if something was going to jump out behind a nearby tree and attack.

Gavin could smell the rabbit nearby and the mud brown wolf slipped silently away to go catch the creature, leaving Henry to nod to his son, trying to get him to go and catch the squirrel. In this form, he was unable to talk directly to Simon with words, so body language and eye contact was the next best thing.

Henry continued to nod to his son. He would absolutely not be disappointed in Simon if he missed the squirrel, but his window of opportunity was dwindling as the creature was nearly finished eating its meal. His eyes almost pleaded with the young wolf. Go boy! You've got this!"[/b]

In any other circumstance, Henry would have rolled his eyes at his frustrated son, but in this instance, the wolf let out a good-natured grunt. His eyes were light as he shook his head. He gently head butt Simon's shoulder as if to say that it was alright. He looked back into the young wolf's eyes. With a shake of his head towards the pond, Henry entered the shallow water from the boggy shore and began to swim, holding his head above the water as he did so.
