Yew was a loner who lived with his elderly mother Shine beyond Clan territory.He often wondered about his father, the RiverClan leader Ripplestar, whom Shine spoke often about. He was content to stay put and care for her at present, however. Shine fell sick in the depths of leaf-bare, and in desperation Yew makes the journey to RiverClan to seek help. Ripplestar refuses to acknowledge he has a son and sends them away, and Shine died soon after. Yew is consumed with the need for revenge, and plots to make his father, and all of RiverClan, pay...

Lilacstar has recently become leader of her beloved RiverClan, inheriting the position just as her father Troutstar inherited it from his mother Stemstar. She makes her son Hawkfeather deputy in hopes that he will follow the pawsteps of his ancestors. Immediately an outcry rises, as the extremely popular Sageleaf is denied what many believe is her deserved position. To add to the trouble, Hawkfeather seems discontented and moody, often neglecting his duties while sneaking off almost every night. Until one day, he never comes back. Lilacstar, filled with dread, searches with her Clanmates until she finds Hawkfeather dead, a gash at his throat. In his claws is the fur of a long-haired tortoiseshell, reeking of Twolegplace. Filled with rage, Lilacstar sets out alone on a journey to Twolegplace, her mind centered on only one thing: revenge. She soon discovers that her son's killer had only wanted to hurt her. And that is the last one she expected him to be, one that she had once loved with all her heart...

Leopardclaw is a half-Clan she-cat, with her mother from ShadowClan, and her father from ThunderClan. However, she's chosen to spend her life loyal to ShadowClan. However, after she falls in love with a tom from ThunderClan, she wonders if she's destined to follow in her parents' pawsteps. Despite this, after her love, Foxfang, dies in a plague sweeping all four Clans, she realises why her life is so... Miserable. After realising this, she goes on a mission to remove her brother, Sparrowleaf, not just from the forest - But from the skies, too.

Nightkit doesn't know what happened to his mother, Ashleaf, or his sister Dawnkit. Now, at the age of six moons, Ashleaf's sister Featherdust cares for him in the nursery, and he is being raised alongside her own kit, Leafkit. Nightkit is visited every night in his dreams by a sleek tortoiseshell with her pelt flecked with countless stars, and a mangy tabby who takes him to a dark, fungus-ridden forest where only a sickly greenish glow attempts to ward off the darkness. Both cats are pressing him to join them in their causes, the tortoiseshell for goodness and truth, the tabby for power and glory. They say that he has been chosen to fulfill a special path-one that will leave a trail for others to follow for generations to come. It can be a trail of stars-or a trail of blood. He must choose, they say-the fate of the Clans rests entirely on him and his choice-the trail he chooses to leave.

Darkflash was a young WindClan tom, loving battle more than usual warriors. When he finds his sister's dead body, he follows the scent trail to discover that his former best friend had killed her. He seeks revenge, and ends up killing the tom. This leaves the expecting mate devastated. In the end, Darkflash is exiled, and swears to get his revenge on every cat who ever hurt him.
