Ok, a bit of a click bait title I guess. I'm not going to bash on insta-love here. Actually I really like the trope. I think it's something that could work, but is rarely done well. Examples? Most fairy tales, Romeo and Juliet, anything by PG Wodehouse and many many other old stories. I think it can also work in very modern writing styles, but today most people are too scared of criticism to try it. Well except for trashy romance novels...
How would it work you ask?
1. Have the physical attraction apparent right away, but don't oversell it.
2. No love rivals. And no forbidden factor.
3. Have the character have fun together.
4. Have the affection be returned pretty quick and don't do the love-hate thing.
5. Have the characters enjoy each other's company the second they meet. Love neither be on BOTH sides at first sight. One of the characters being the first will fall will be enough, but feel free to do both at once.
What do you guys think about this? I understand it's pretty hard to say definitively, but I do plan to execute this with at least one insta-love couple in my warriors fanfic.

Some people say insta-love doesn't exist. I disagree; it does exist, but should be a lot rarer than it is. That is, it's overused. I'm fine with instant love. It happens.
I'm sick of it being the only type of relationship.

I sick of it only when it's done poorly which is most of the time
