Okay, I'm pretty sure most of us can agree that this pairing is forced, especially if we consider Violetshine's opinion on him in the last book. But I thought about this just now: Violetshine mentions at one point how she wouldn't be surprised if Tree left her, since everyone else has. So, perhaps the reason Violetshine is falling for him has more to do with wanting to form attachments in general, and possibly also because of their shared friendship with Needletail.
Or maybe this pairing is just forced.

Call me dumb, but a platonic mateship would be kinda cute. Just best buds/friends creating a family.
But yes, it seemed forced and shoehorned. To be fair, I wasn't interested in either the TwigFin ship, either. I kinda see them both without mates, and the same with Alderheart (but I did like that he had that infatuation with Needletail). Violet so suddenly seeing Tree that way confused me, since she found him very irritating in Darkest Night, and I didn't see any sparks like other people mentioned. I just plain didn't see the chemistry. I thought the flirting was kinda cute, but her not being interested was what made me like it, including when she called him out on it impatiently. In ROF, she definitely clung to him a lot, and thinking about it now, she was very desperate for him not to leave. She pretty much panicked every time she overheard Leafstar addressing Tree, whose role still confuses me a lot. The line about her being scared he'd leave brings the relationship to new light...unfortunately, now I think of it as slightly unhealthy lol

Not in love like mates, but raising their kits as good friends.

Mm, this post's reasoning has made me a bit more okay with VioletTree, but I'd still prefer her without a mate.
TwigFin, on the other hand, is the cutest thing in the world to me.
