River of Fire - a couple ShadowClan cats (spoilers)

I absolutely love what they did with Yarrowleaf in River of Fire. She's really proven that she regrets the mistakes she made and is wholly dedicated to serving ShadowClan again. Her kits being threatened by their own father was horrifying and Nettle getting killed for it was fantastic. This also means that Snowbird doesn't have to lose another one of her kits, so that's nice.
On the other hand, I'm also thrilled that they didn't try to actually redeem Sleekwhisker. She was proven to be an out-and-out villain in Shattered Sky and I was skeptical for the portion of the book where it seemed like she might be redeemed. But nope, she's still the same good old minor villain from before, and her plot to kill Tawnypelt was wonderfully evil. It created an excellent way for Rowanclaw to sacrifice himself as we knew had to happen, and proved even further that Yarrowleaf is truly loyal to ShadowClan.
By the way, when you look back at Thunder and Shadow and Shattered Sky, Yarrowleaf doesn't actually betray ShadowClan. Along with Strikestone (good boi <3) she stays loyal to ShadowClan as long as possible, until the rogues take over the entire camp. In Shattered Sky she doesn't do any more to help the rogues than other cats like Grassheart or Stonewing, certainly nothing as vile as what Sleekwhisker did. In fact, I'm pretty sure the only reason she fled with the rogues at the end was because she was in love with Nettle.
In other words... Yarrowleaf's only crime was to love too much.
