this was originally in the introductions forum but that didn't work well, and it doesn't work good here either since Gravel and moonfeather are not canon warriors characters and this is for fan ficton, but since this forum is for writing I feel like this is the best place to put it. ((also, I know there's off topic writing, but this is also warriors themed?? so uh i'll just stay here with all the much better fics
Gravel woke up to a load crash, her yellow eyes glistening in the sunlight that shone from the large window behind her.
what on earth was that? the speckled she-cat thought, getting up to investigate.
The sound led her to her favorite room, the one her twolegs had called the kit-chin The name confused her, she didn't understand how the room could be described as a kit chin, but she couldn't stay angry at it, as it was where the most heavenly smells the she cat had ever picked up would come from. Gravel shook her head. she couldn't get distracted, it was her job to protect her twolegs and she hadn't been doing very good at it lately. she looked up to see her favorite twoleg, one who had been called aim-ee by the other, larger twolegs. the small twoleg was standing in front of a large pile of things gravel didn't know how else to describe them, other than things, gray bowls, similar to the ones she ate the 'food' her twolegs fed her, with a large handle sticking out of it. the tiny twoleg turned around, picking up the kit. ''there's my favorite baby!" she cooed. Gravel purred, she was disgusted by how the twoleg spoke to her, but it was strangely calming to her. Hearing a familiar scratching sound at the door, she wriggled to escape the twoleg's grasp. moonfeather! Gravel thought. moonfeather had been an inspiration to her for as long as she could remember, the elder cat had been a warrior for all his life up until 3 moons ago, when he had a dream telling him that his destiny was to be fulfilled in a small town, crowded with other cats. nothing interesting had happened over the 3 moons, but he was happy to tell the young kit about his past. Gravel began scratching at the door aswell, mewing at the twoleg as if begging for her to open the door. the twoleg chuckled and walked up to gravel, clipped on a collar, and let her out the door. ''listen, gravel, we need to leave. immediately.'' the dark ginger elder mewed, seriously. ''wait--what?" Gravel gasped, surprised. ''no questions for now, we must leave as soon as we can." Gravel was almost disgusted at the idea why leave now when he'd only been here for three moons? surely that wasn't long enough time for whatever starclan wanted to happen to happen. Gravel shook her head, she couldn't be so discouraging of the elder's idea, Moonfeather hadn't even mentioned where they'd be be going, or why Gravel had to accompany him! ''Moonfeather," Gravel hesitated. "where do you want to go?" she asked. Moonfeather glared at Gravel. "we need to go, this isn't a matter of want.- besides, that's not even important. we must go back to the clans." Gravel didn't know what to do. she wanted to support her friend, but she was content with her life as a kittypet.
The idea of Gravel leaving Amy sounded horrible, but this could be her only chance to become a warrior.
"o-okay," Gravel stammered, "when do we leave?" Moonfeather grinned. "now."
