AshPaw heard his leader call a meeting but he was still feeling down so all he did was stand and stretch before padding to right outside the apprentices den and sitting down, wrapping his tail around his paws and watching his leader, though his eyes were sad.
BerryTooth had been eating a mouse and perked her ears at her leader's words. Finishing up quickly she stood and shook her fur out before padding forward and seating herself close to the front of the gathering cats.

Padding to the bottom of the High Ledge, Reedshade sat down and wrapped his tail around his paws. His head was lifted, at the same time attentive and proud. He glanced to make sure the other cats were gathering, still wondering what their thoughts might be on this announcement.

Marble let out a purr and nodded her head. "It was a bit slow moving. Boring really. I put mint all over my den and then just sat in the sun for a while before I groomed my fur." She then looked at the white she-cat steadily. "Kept wishing sunset would come faster though."

Marble followed her to the bank and shook out her fur before grooming herself real quick. She then stood and shook her fur just a bit again, her eyes shining. "I'm ready to go if you are." She then remembered something and walked over to the mint patch from earlier and rolled in it. "Now I'm ready actually."

Marble giggled and pawed at the mint, pulling it off of MistyPool's fur. "Got a little stow away here." She purred as she laughed again, her eyes glowing with compassion. She then looked around. "So which way are we going?"

(Sorry for the wait. Also, time for bed. XD)
Viperstar raised her chin proudly. When it appeared an amiable amount of the clan had gathered, she began. "With a heavy heart, I have come to accept that Kestralflight is not returning." A pause. A hard swallow. How would the clan react? As far as they all knew, he had simply gone missing. It was highly likely. "Therefore, I have chosen a new deputy. Now, I understand this ceremony will be without a body, but the words still hold the same meaning. Metaphorically, at least." She lowered her head silently for a moment. Hopefully, this would be the last time she'd have to say the words. "I say these words before the body of Kestralflight, that the spirits of our warrior ancestors may hear and approve of my choice." It was almost murmured, eyes closed, presenting a humble and righteous appearance as Viperstar deserved, "The new deputy of EmberClan will be Reedshade!"

AshPaw just shrugged his shoulders at the leader's news. He didn't really understand all the fuss about the deputy and about KrestelFlight and such. Standing up he entered the apprentices den and laid solemnly back in his nest.
BerryTooth was taken aback by the news. She had been trying so hard her entire life to become deputy and now that chance had slipped through her paws. She felt her stomach knot and her chest tighten. She then let out a breath and hung her head, knowing she couldn't do anything about it except to accept her leader's decision.

Marble nodded and followed the she-cat but was soon padding y side, close eniugh for their fur to brush. Marble was a bit scared. she knew how bad the world cold be and the security of her den called out to her but she ignored that. She could do this if MistyPool was there yo help her.
BerryTooth nodded and let out a sigh. Turning to TallPine she looked at the tom. "O know I should be happy."

Reedshade hung his head in respect for Kestrelflight, taking the moment to think of the former deputy. It was only once Viperstar called his name as the next deputy that he looked up once more, his sleek fur shimmering in the sunlight as he proudly looked to his Clan. His ears flicked as he glanced up to his leader, gesturing for permission to speak to the Clan, cautiously hesitant. He would soon find his stride in deputying, he supposed.

Current Location: CampRussetsong sat neatly besides her clanmates, as she smiled warmly at Reedshade and congratulated him on a low-sounding murmur. She wasn't exactly the loudest cat, especially in big crowds. — Congratulations Reedshade! I'm sure you'll be a great deputy! —She finished, her tail curled against her backleg intensely, as it brushed against the soil under her feet, already somewhat flat due the clan's high activity removing the dust off it. She looked back at Viperstar, her eyes gleaming with throbbing interest. She was never especially fond of Kestrelflight- They weren't close at all and if anything, they had only shared a word or two. Or, had they? Maybe just a gaze, but apart from that, nothing. The tricolored she-cat's muzzle twitched, feeling a little itchy, as her long, bold whiskers shook along with it. Would Viperstar announce anything else? Hopefully yes- She'd been longing to teach someone for quite some time. tl;dr
Russetsongs congratulates Reedshade, thinks to herself about Kestrelflight and ponders about Viperstar's next move or announcement. |

Viperstar allowed the clan to celebrate before seeing Reedshade looking up at her. Asking permission to speak? He was so respectful; she would hardly regret her decision. Black banner of a tail waved to gesture that he had the floor.

Marble nodded, continuing to pad along beside the she-cat. "I would love to find a cave actually. It's better for rainy days and also for when it snows." She then slowed down until she completely stopped, looking at MistyPool softly. "I wanted to ask you a question. Why are you helping me? It's just... I've been thik of why you might be helping me but I can't think of any reason."

With permission to speak, Reedshade turned to the Clan, hoping those towards the back could see him as he stood beneath the High Ledge. "We will always honour Kestrelflight, and I hope I am a worthy successor," he meowed. "I may struggle at first, I may make mistakes, but I will do my best for EmberClan. I promise you all this." Bowing his head, he sat back down.

Mistypool stopped and looking down at the ground before moving to gaze at Marble directly. "Ember Clan has always been very protective of its territory, and like most clans wont tolerate other cats living there. But...recently, its become alot stricter - our leader believes that loners and kittypets are better of dead and would never except one. Even having half clan blood would be enough to cause a problem. Viperstar would probably kill any non clan cat on the spot and i don't know if anyone would have the guts to complain." Mistypool sighed and sat down before continuing - the weight of what she was doing began to dawn on her. " Now, I can support that if the cat poses a danger...but you, like many others, don't. I dont believe in violence. Problems can be solved fairly without spilling needless blood." The white she cat began to flex her claws into the soil in frustration. "How can starclan support killing an innocent cat, just because the Leaders word is the Warrior Code. It's just not FAIR." she almost shouted. Realising she had raised her voice, the shecat took a deep breath and shut her eyes. "You are stil knew to living in the wild. You didnt know the consequences. To force you out of your home after everything you have been through would be cruel...and i couldn't do such a thing to another cat, I'm just not really harsh enough to be a good warrior. By helping you in this way, I'm not really breaking the code. Just maybe bending the rules alittle." Mistypool stood back up and stepped forward a few paces until she was stood infront of Marble, her brown eyes looking directly into the other shecats beautiful blue ones. "Besides, you are starting to grow on me...I have really enjoyed spending time with you. I know that i have barely known you a day, but...i feel like i have known you for longer than that, and that i was meant to meet you."

Her next words caught Marble by surprise and she flopped her mouth open and closed a few times, trying to find words. She finally smiled and let out a purr, unknowing to her her eyes filled with a single pure emotion, love. "I also feel that way. I was scared when you found me but the minute our eyes met I felt like I had known you for an eternity. I don't why I feel so at home around you." |

the clan cats are having a meeting atm and Viperstars just announced the new deputy so you could jump in there and then once the meetings over, my cat Tallpine will be open. ))
