Sol returning is becoming more and more likely in my mind. Or the Clans redesigning the code after something happens to 'break' it. Or the Clans redesigning the code anyway and the fallout from it so they change it again.

On one hand I want Sol back because he was interesting villian, but on the other hand, is he really gonna be able to do as much damage at this point?

I'm guessing that some cats would want the warrior code completely eradicated, but the more traditional warriors would want to keep it intact. But I'm also guessing that at one point, they'll have a negotiation in that the traditional warriors can keep the code while the others can either alter or add some new parts to it.

I feel that it's going to revolve heavily around the warrior code. Maybe the Clans will all try living without it for a while? If so, I wonder if they'll come to that conclusion on their own, or if a cat like Sol will talk them into it. I could see the entire arc being a rebellion against the code, the Clans all falling apart to basically groups of rogues, and then something dramatic happening at the end that would bring them all back and strengthen their faith more than ever before.

I feel like the Clans might remove a part of the warrior code (Maybe the part about forbidden relationships cuz nobody follows it, I HIGHLY doubt it though), and possible controversy over it?
Or something happens in the plot that causes the cats to break the code?
That's what comes to my mind.

SPOILERS FOR RIVER OF FIRE BELOW I personally think it's going to revolve around Alderheart having an affair with Velvet. Most likely Alderheart is going to break the code, father kits with Velvet, and the rest of the clans will go nuts. That would be two, TWO medicine cats from Thunderclan who had kits with cats from another clan/outside of the clans. Bramblestar will probably try to defend him, because, well, Alderheart is his son--but the rest of the clans will cry foul. Thunderclan has always been the "goody-two-shoes" clan policing the others--how have their warriors/medicine cats broken the code so many times and without punishment? Not only that, but their warriors blatantly do it as well. Graystripe is an example; Bluestar is too; Dovewing is another. Mapleshade is the most infamous. Why are so many cats from Thunderclan, who tout themselves as the strictest followers of the code, break that rule so often?
From there I think it'll devolve and then parts of the code will be removed, but not after massive drama, Alderheart getting kicked out (but later being allowed in), Leafpool getting kicked out/killed by Breezepelt (or something idk).
I feel like the main takeaway will be several redactions and maybe an all out NEW code. Maybe one that follows the idea of a mediator for each clan, or just one mediator (Tree) in general who decides whether or not a rule has actually been broken.
Seems crazy, but I can see something like that happening.
If that stops the ridiculous "forbidden romance" plots then I'm all for it.
I'm just waiting for the last book in AVOS to end with Velvet confessing to Alderheart that she's pregnant. There's too much hinting that he's going to pursue her, no matter how many nice things Jayfeather and Cinderpelt say to him. So yeah. That's my take on it.

I actually think that Alderheart won't end up with Velvet at all and the point of her inclusion in River of Fire was to show that Alderheart is finally going to end ThunderClan's ridiculous pattern of every medicine cat having an illegal relationship.
Seriously. SpottedFire, YellowRagged, CinderFire, LeafCrow, JayHalf. Five freaking medicine cats in a row fell in love.

Hollyleaf having a role in the book would be great, given how important the warrior code is to her character. While the River of Fire spoilers might give us some ideas, I guess we'll have to wait for A Vision of Shadows to formally end to have an idea of where it might go... Maybe it will involve Mistystar, if she survives, and how she is handling RiverClan currently? Refusing a medicine cat's border-ignoring duties could play into it.

A ThunderClan purge
|
|
|
Post by embertuft on Dec 9, 2018 18:17:35 GMT -5
It probably will be about Shadowkit, and something going wrong with StarClan- it disappears or something like that. Sleekwhisker returns, (with the rogues- makes a ThunderClan purge) Violetshine’s kits (if so Rootpaw) team up with Shadowkit/paw and try and find StarClan by travelling in their dreams. Find StarClan again and they help get rid of Sleekwhisker: (If this is the last series, I want a final appearance with Tigerstar and Firestar where one another kills the other. Don’t ask why, I just feel the Dark Forest will have something to do with this)
