This may seem really weird, but I considering going to back to Warriors for the sake of the plot.I dont really read anymore but the plot of the books still interests me.

I really like the original series and I thought TNP was pretty good too. I read power of three just for the sake of keeping up with what was going on. Then I barely got through the first two books of omen of the stars when I said "you know what I'm done" so I didn't read warriors for a few years. But then I heard that vision of shadows was actually pretty good so I got back into it.

I'm kind of in the same boat as you... I'm still a Warriors fan, and have all the books, but definitely not as loyal as I once was (in fact, a lot of times I prefer what if fan fiction over the original books, and will read summaries before reading the book much later)...
However, if you're going to get back into the series, I recommend reading the new series (a Vision of Shadows), Hawkwing's Journey, and Dawn of the Clans. The newer books are pretty well-written and will allow you to understand what's going on without having to have to much interaction with the old ones. Dawn of the Clans is not related to most of the other books (it shows the times of the ancient cats) but is worth reading for refreshing new characters and being well-written...
If you want to catch up on any other books, I'd recommend just reading a summary. The two arcs before A Vision of Shadows (Power of Three and Omen of the Stars) are generally considered weaker than the rest of the arcs, and not as well-written.

The newer books are well-written and I still love warriors, but I prefer other books to this rn. Rick Riordan has me so captivated that I can't be stuffed with warriors tbh. I like the names in warriors, but that's about the only thing keeping me onboard at the minute.

I just started rereading the series too, after maybe 3 years since I stopped. The books are great and the reading really helps take the stress off of college classes.

Go back to reading them. I did the same. I just stopped reading for a while then came back to them. Best decision ever. Forever Warriors fan.
