This is an idea I had for awhile and finally I decided to start writing it! Hope you enjoy!
Characters:
Katsuo - Black and gray tom cat with dark blue eyes and white face and ear tufts. He is a fighter, but nobody said he wasn't sweet on the inside! He cares deeply for his four younger siblings. He is the oldest of his siblings.
Kisa - Black and gray she-cat with green eyes and white markings and ear tufts. She is the youngest of the siblings, but is also the rowdiest of them all! Her sister and best friend is Amber.
Frosty - Pure white tom cat with green eyes. He is the oldest of his litter, which goes in the order of Frosty, Storm, Amber, and Kisa. He is more mature, and is an aspiring hunter.
Storm - Pure gray tom cat with green eyes. He is cranky, and he and Kisa are always fighting.
Amber - Ginger she-cat with amber eyes and white flecks. She is a rowdy, but sweet, young cat who loves to play with Kisa, her best friend and sister,
Carmen - Brown and white she-cat with amber eyes. She is a shy, timid cat who is afraid of Kisa and Amber's antics. She usually stays around Katsuo or Frosty.
Kitty - Gray and white patched she-cat with dark green eyes. Not much is known about her, except she loved her kittens.
(I'll add more as time goes on)
Prologue
It was a cold, snowy day. A young she-cat trotted through the snow, carrying a small kitten in her mouth, and one other followed her, mewling for food that they didn't have. Her belly was distended, despite the food shortage, life growing within. It was getting dark, and soon it would get even colder. She knew she had to get her babies to safety and warmth. Plus, her second litter would be due any minute. She gazed around and saw a lifted tree root, there was bound to be a hole there. She nudged her little ones towards the tree and when they reached it, she snuggled them into her fur to nurse as much as they could.
The she-cat knew that this was a bad time to end up with two litters to care for, but didn't really expect it to happen in the first place. She left her mate to live a life without worrying about war with neighboring Kingdoms. Particularly with the rising tyranny of one specific Kingdom. She and her mate argued about her leaving, and he sent guards out to get her back. However, she knew she had lost them by now. Now, she could peacefully have her kittens.
Four little bundles of fur nestled next to her older kittens, who would soon be done nursing. Her elder litter, her two sons, were sleeping peacefully. Her younger litter, consisting of two toms and two she-cats, were purring, suckling from her belly happily. The young she-cat purred, content with her little family, when suddenly she heard a vicious growl. Snapping her head around, she saw three cats standing in front of the den entrance. Ears pinned to her head, she growled. "Who are you? You're not with..." Before getting the chance to finish, the bigger tom cat leaped forward, landing in front of the she-cat, and sunk his teeth into the back of her neck. The she-cat thrashed, trying to dislodge the attacker, then fell limp. The kittens mewled and cried from the disturbance. The bigger tom cat glanced at his two companions before his eyes fell onto the she-cat from his group, who looked anxious and nervous.
"You." He snarled.
"M-Me?" Stuttered the terrified she-cat.
"Yes you, Fright. You say you always wanted kittens? Take these rejects and get out. We're only interested in Kitty's firstborn son." He looked at the two older kittens, and scooped up the bigger of the two. He glared in disdain at the smaller son, mewling weakly. "He's a runt." He growled around a mouthful of fur. "We don't need him. Or you, Fright. You're too cowardly. Keep these rejects, if you want. Or, you can let them die. Not like I care." At that, he and his smaller companion ran away, leaving Fright to stay with the kittens. Her eyes were wide with surprise, then relief. She glanced at the five remaining kittens and curled her body around them.
"You're all needing a mother? Well, don't worry little ones. I'll take care of you, from now on... And since you still need milk, I'm sure my sister will help... You'll never know of what happened today, I promise you... you will all be happy..."
