yeah, I'm definitely liking slice of life. I've also done a lot of supernatural stuff, so a contemporary will be a nice change of pace.
hm, wow I'm drawing a blank and these are terrible xD we could do like the "forbidden romance" kind of trope where one character is unsure about their sexuality and still has their family's hate for their sexuality around them?
any ideas other than my really vague one, but it's the only thing I could think of right now

hmm i'm kinda low on ideas as well... i'm liking a kind of forbidden romance sort of thing. Or we could do one where they HATE each other, but their two friend groups are kind connected and they usually end up together because everyone else is in couples?? Like haunted houses, they get paired. Both apply for a job, both of them get it. We could do something like a doctor sort of au, like one character has a sibling in the hospital and the other character is their nurse/doctor?? That one could get angsty. Im sorry but I'm low on ideas rn.)

ooh I'm liking the hate each other and a slow burn, because while I love the idea of the doctor one, I'm not in the angsty mood right now.
this random idea kind of jumped into my head, but what if they once again had to be paired together, because the friend groups got together and they were all going up in an elevator and then when the two got in and went up they got stuck or something which forced them to actual talk to each other? just a thought since I too am low on ideas.

it'll just be quick and short so you have a basic idea~
this took longer than I thought it would since I had to go blow my nose fifteen times
Remy Godfrey -- growing up with three brothers taught him to have a backbone, and a smart-ass mouth, but his mischievous nature, he was born with it. Over the years he's definitely become more flamboyant, but he's always been a bit oversensitive, rash to make decisions, and opinionated. they say the Godfrey boys hold grudges, and well, Remy isn't going to be the first to break that chain. He has dark caramel-auburn brown waves fall messily around his forehead and neck in layers. his eyes are extremely light green, almost gray in some lights but have a shock of hazel wrapping around the black pupil. Pale skinned and angular, his smile holds secret and his eyes dance like the devil's.
should I just make up where they are going or should they be going somewhere specific?

The last rays of sunshine vanishing over the horizon was almost like a wake up call to Remy Godfrey. Night time, despite it's dark sky and usual promise to normal people of sleep and sweet dreams, Remy found it to be awakening. The freshness to a crisper air, the brilliance of city lights, the opening of all the best places, all of it felt like home. Although tonight, rather than remain in the city and experience the clubs and lights and sparkle and mayhem of his usually gilded lifestyle, Addie convinced him to come with her to a bonfire held on the beach.
When she arrived at his apartment, he made a show of dramatically putting away the glitter he sprinkled in his hair, the dark lipsticks, eyeliner, and leather outfit. Addie just made a rude gesture in his direction involving her middle finger and stuck out her tongue before flipping her cascade of red curls over her shoulder and glided out of the room.
"They better at least have spirited drinks at this beach bonfire, and I want a guarantee at cute boys!" Remy shouted out the door as he slipped on a long-sleeved black tee, one he usually wore to bed since everything else was a little too, shall we say dramatic?, for a bonfire and a pair of skinny jeans and sneakers. He could almost hear Addie roll her eyes.
"You're coming anyway, even if they don't have either of those things." She stuck her head in the door as he pouted at her and ran a hand through his hair. "Because you love me and owe me for being your date at that stuck up gallery thing." Addie's blue eyes sparkled and she smirked triumphantly. Remy hefted a sigh.
"That's not fair, you got damn good caviar and free wine at that gallery." He sighed, linking arms with her and despite none of his wishes being promised, Remy went with her to the beach in the dusky hours after sunset.
The air was cool and salty from the ocean breeze bringing the scent in from the tide that was rising rapidly. The houses were all dark and vague on the boardwalk, but Remy could see tall dunes hiding a bonfire from the ocean spray and groups of people clustered together among the bright, shimmering flames. Addie walked with him, linked arm-in-arm as they approached. Luckily, Remy recognized at least a few people from Addie's extensive group of friends and he tried to appear normal and friendly and non-crazy to all the ones he didn't. Although he didn't feel quite right without his usual nightly attire.

BRO I'm in the same boat XD Plus I'm supposed to be reading and annotating a book for english but I've decided to leave it off for now and hate myself later.)
Drew yawned, tears pricking at the side of his eyes. His sister, the ever popular bar worker and the person who happened to put this little party together along with her friends, had insisted he come. Of course she didn't care that he had been up at four trying to pass another one of his father's insane tests. This was the college campus, how did he even manage to put together one?! He was dressed in a pair of comfortable jeans and a warm red shirt. Drew had also opted to grab a light jacket which he tied around his waist.
People didn't stop coming, soon his own group of friends had also infiltrated and he wasn't left with a choice. He noticed them and jumped behind one of the garbage cans. They walked over to a red haired girl and another guy, they looked like they knew each other. But Drew had never seen either of them.
One of his friends, Collin, said "Hey! Addie! I see you Remy out of his cave." he snorted as he sized up the other guy "And I'm guessing he was less than pleased." Drew didn't get the chance to meet Collins other friends all that often. They shared little to no classes and they had a different time schedule. "I think I saw Drew around here somewhere..." Cursing Drew tried for a tactical retreat but was grabbed from behind "This guy can get you places, his sister is one of the hosts." against his will Drew was drug to the large group.

Remy watched with a sly smile the blush that curled over Addie's cheeks, and he knew it wasn't from the fire. Addie tended to like anyone and everyone she saw, and with a bat of her mascara-black lashes and a flip of her perfumed red curls, she usually got whoever she wanted. At one point before her siren tactics had been turned to him, but he'd explained they were better friends than intimates.
He tried to refrain from rolling his eyes, he really did, especially since Collin was one of Addie's ever flitting crushes. She'd probably be over him eventually, but right now, he was one of the many men and women on her list that those she hadn't slept with yet. "Oh please, Collin, if you were in my cave you'd never want to leave either." Remy smirked and winked, a sly smile curling over his lips. Addie elbowed him in the ribs, and her grip crushed his hand in her own, but he didn't even pause. "Especially if I was there too." Another jab to the ribs. Okay, that one hurt, so he shut his mouth. But his eyes turned anyway to the newcomer, and he had to look up, but mostly because Remy usually had to look up due to his short height. His eyes roved over this 'Drew' and let his eyes linger.
"Pleasure to meet you, Drew?" He drawled, hoping for a last name. "I'm Remy Godfrey and this is," Addie had slipped from his arm, her tight grip loosened and he could see a glimpse of her red hair as she was pulled away. "That was Addie Kincaid." Remy's eyes flickered in the firelight, dancing with that glint of devilishness and his smile revealing the dimple in his right cheek.

This guy was someone Drew might avoid "Andrew Fox." he replied curtly. He noted that this Addie girl liked Collin, nothing new really. Collin was quite attractive to nearly everyone. But he was naive almost and thought of everyone as his friend. Despite being in college he still had yet to have a steady girl friend, or boyfriend. "The group seemed to break into small different groups, a couple of people walking in between. It seemed like the two groups were connected through a couple of people. Drew not being one of them.
Surveying the area he tried to find a point of interest to talk about. Scratching the back of his head he finally just asked "So why are you here if you don't want to be?" he was... blunt, in a word. This is what happened when he panicked and was out of his element.
Drew was very polite. to the point his friends patronized him about it. But that helped when talking to employers and other people. He never seemed rude, simply distant. Some people disliked that about him. (Good night! I was thinking of turning in soon as well.)

[ gah this took so long I'm so sorry! ]
Remy felt a twinge of awkwardness clench his stomach as he looked to try to fit into a group, perhaps find Addie, or maybe just drink until those nerves went away. His fingers slid through his dark waves, brushing them away from his face. A cool breeze swept in from the ocean and he shivered, wishing he'd brought an extra jacket. Usually, after being the club for hours the cool night breeze was refreshing to his sweat soaked body, but here, it just made him want to curl up in a blanket.
His pale eyes flickered back to Drew, surprised by his question. He chuckled, as it caught him off guard. "I could ask you the same thing, Andrew Fox." he shot back and his dimpled smile reappeared. The boy was almost like a statue with his deep blue eyes looking nearly ink-black with the bright fire barely keeping the swell of shadows from the night at bay. "Honestly, though?" He raised one eyebrow. "Free booze, mostly." He said with a shrug, shivering again. It wasn't a lie, but, he did add. "Plus, I owe Addie." He replied vaguely, looking around and bouncing up and down. "And what about you? Sister drag you out?" Remy tilted his head and smirked.

"Yeah, my sister said I should come and socialize. Though I really think she just wants help cleaning up afterwards." drinking didn't settle well with Drew, he lost most of his impulse control and was known to be quite clingy and happy. Thus making him avoid it. He really was only here because his sister would make him rue the day he skipped out on her.
He scuffed the ground a bit with his toe, feeling at a lost for words. He weaved his fingers together behind his back and titled his head slightly. This was worse then trying to talk to his mother, which broke up with his father a while back. They rarely saw her and when they did it was a horror within itself. Before he could say anything else Collin walked up to them, looking a bit tipsy "Heyy guys... standing here talking? That's no way to enjoy a party." he held out a cup to Remy "Don't worry Drew, I know you wouldn't drink any even if I gave it to you." he walked over to him and kinda drooped over him.
If Drew was bad, Remy was worse. He passed out after a couple, no matter what the drink was. Sighing he hefted his friend and let him lean on him.

Remy watched Drew, he seemed a bit uncomfortable. A bit was probably an understatement. "Okay, so remember not to invite Drew Fox to any fun party," Luckily, Collin came and saved the day with a red solo cup. Much better, he smiled and relaxed and sniffed the cup. Probably crappy beer, but it was better than nothing at all. Remy muttered a quick prayer for his mouth and stomach as he took a huge gulp of the contents of the cup. It had a stale feel to it, but it wasn't the worst beer. It was still tart and sour, more acidic than he would've liked, but it had a pleasant malt kind of feel to it. Nearly caramel tasting underneath the sourness. He'd deal with it.
Remy watched Collin lean against his friend, completely trusting the taller man to keep him upright. "At least I can hold my liquor." Remy chuckled into his cup. Unfortunately, it took stronger stuff than this to get him buzzed and predictably he enjoyed fruitier and sweeter drinks like cocktails than sour beer. And him drunk was not much different than sober Remy, he just got louder than usual, more flamboyant and cuddly than he already was.
He turned to face the two guys and let his cup hang from his hand by his side. "So, Drew, why don't you drink?" He wondered, tilting his head. "A bit ironic considering your sister organizes these events, I thought you'd probably take more advantage of her generous offerings," He held up his cup as a visual of her 'generous offering' and then drained the rest of the half empty

Drew shifted Collin as he drooped again, his friend draping one arm over his shoulder and his face pressed into his other one. If he hurls on me I'm dropping him... "I prefer to have control over my actions. Though I'm not as bad as Collin here I still tend to get out of control." a part of him didn't trust this person enough to be giving away information like that, but another part said how could he? Drew was rarely found around drinks, and whenever parties like this were hosted there was nothing better then cheep drinks.
"She hosts parties where she does binge a bit, but she only invites close friends." she had connections at the local bar, and worked there on weekends. "That and she's tried to get me to come a couple times."
