Persephone had always been carefully guarded and fretted over all her life. Being the daughter of gods, one would think she wouldn't need to be fretted over so much. After all, she wasn't completely helpless, was she? If she was a child of the gods, surely she was not so fragile. And yet, her mother Demeter hardly let her out of her sights. Persephone was rather grateful and happy that she had such an adoring mother, but at the same, she never felt like she could have true time to herself. Which is one of the reasons why she had snuck off into a field of wildflowers. Zeus had been having an argument with Demeter, a perfect distraction for Persephone to get away for a little while.
The youth now sat comfortably and happily in a large field of wildflowers, breathless and awed by the beauty of nature. She ran a soft, gentle pale fingertip along the petal of a blue flower, her emerald gaze studying its veins and purple center. She stood up, barefooted, and glanced around her with a content smile on her lips. There were flowers as far as the eye could see! As if it were an exotic sea of Poseidon's. She wiped her hands on the soft material of her violet dress, the hem and frills brushing just beneath her knees. Her long, wavy golden locks blew behind her in the cool breeze and she spread her arms as if to embrace the wind.
She had always been dazzled by the smallest of things. Books, little strawberry tarts, the gleaming droplets of paint on brushes, and of course, nature. Perhaps one could say she was a hopeless romantic, of sorts. The smallest, beautiful things always enchanted her and held her attention and love far more than any jewel or golden embroidered accessories ever could. And Persephone knew that the world had so much more the offer her. There were surely many other wonderful things in the world to see, if only her mother could bare for her to be out of her sights for a little bit.

(Okay, so I looked into this story, and I'm going to take the liberty of changing/leaving out a couple of the details for sake of censorship. XD Just so it doesn't get too awkward. I'm also going to just do my best interruption of Hades since I don't know too much about his character. So I apologize if to start out with his character seems a bit weak.)
There she was. Persephone in all her beauty, gracing the land of humans with her presence. It was a shame no one else was around to witness her in such a state of happiness as she was in. She really was lovely. Fair skin, light hair that glowed under the sun's rays, eyes that put emeralds to shame. Was it ever a wonder that Hades had been taken with her? How long ago had he first seen the goddess? How long since he had longed to make her his wife, to live with him forever in the portion of the universe he controlled? How long since Zeus himself had given him permission to have the two of them wed. If only Demeter wasn't so troubling.
The god of the Underworld stood in the distance, watching as Persephone danced among the fields, mesmerized. As much as he longed to have the woman in his arms, he couldn't help be hesitate. The picture of her amidst the wildflowers was one he could look at all day. Mortal men could only dream to capture a portion of the beauty he was beholding, the bliss on her face. She belonged there, he decided. A sweet goddess surrounded by the multi-colored petals of spring. It was almost enough to make him turn away from his plan. Almost.
No longer able to keep to the shadows, Hades stepped forth. his dark appearance a stark contrast to the wold around him. He didn't belong in the world under Helius's gaze. It was far too bright for him, but he put up with the annoyance for a short while. "Of all the flowers scattered across the ground, you are a far lovelier sight to see," he spoke when within feet of Persephone.

I totally understand! It’s alright ^^ Also, if you’d like, instead of him kidnapping her, Hades could lure her into the Underworld to make it less . . . problematic x3 It’s okay , just do what you think Hades would be like ) As the young goddess knelt down to pick a beautiful purple flower, she felt a cool breeze slide past her and saw a shadow appear before her. She raised her head and, blinking through the brightness of the sun overhead, saw a sharp looking man dressed all in dark colors with dark hair and just a dark aura in all fairness standing a few feet away from her. He looked so out of place, standing in the meadow of multi-colored flowers with a clear blue sky beaming behind him. Surprise and curiosity chased each other across her face as she climbed to her feet, her bare toes buried in the soft grass beneath her. Hearing his words, a soft blush rose to her pale cheeks and a small smile curled it’s way into her lips. Looking down bashfully at the purple flower she had picked, the stem wrapped around her fingers, she bit her lip before peeking back up at the stranger from beneath long lashes. “ That is a very kind thing to say,” she said softly with a small smile, flicking her gaze back up to him, curiosity dancing within their emerald depths. “ But I have to disagree. This meadow is the most beautiful in the world. Besides . . .” She held the purple flower up and took a step closer to him with a shy demeanor. “ I think you would look lovely with this color of flower adorning your dark hair.” A smile of amusement and teasing lit her face, but also sincerity. Who was this man? Where had he came from? Persephone felt suddenly very curious to know, and also a bit surprised at his sudden appearance and compliment. Whoever he was, his person practically oozed power. Just standing in his presence told her that he was a very powerful being. His aura just felt . . . electric and otherworldly. It was like nothing she had ever felt before, and that made her even more curious. Her mother had always warned her away being aware of her surroundings and playing safely, but Persephone just couldn’t contain her wanderlust and curiosity. It couldn’t be helped after living most of her life under close watch and within safe compounds.

(Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Use charm, not force. XD Just because he's god of the Underworld, doesn't mean he can't be a smooth talker. XD)
Her smile was enough to undo him. The shine in her impossibly green eyes made the sun and meadow pale in comparison. She was the warmth and light he had been missing. She was what his home needed. His own dark eyes scanned every detail of her face, committing it to memory. They were strikingly opposite: her soft, round features verses his harsh, sharp build. Where she glowed with summer's radiance, he inhabited winter's chill. A flowering meadow next to a barren, rocky mountain.
An easy smile spread across his own lips, savoring the sound of her voice. So crisp and refreshing from the wails of suffering he listened to day after day. If he were to close his eyes, he could easily believe her voice was the wind or the fluttering of a bird's wing. "I am sure you would be correct," Hades replied, "but I fear it's beautiful color wouldn't last long in my hands. I prefer the sight of it in your own hair better."
Closing the gap between them in two simple strides, Hades took the flower gently from Persephone's hands and tucked the stem behind one of her ears. His smile widened. "Ah, I am proven correct. Purple suits you very fine indeed."
(Random note that's not really important: I like to imagine that Persephone is the dearest daughter of a nice, well off family, while Hades is the emo/punk kid that lives in his parents basement. XD Can you tell it's late and I'm tired? Lol. )

Lol that’s right!)
She couldn’t help but tilt her head slightly at his words. The flower wouldn’t last long in his hands? What did that mean? As she was pondering this, she suddenly felt the strong aura she had been feeling since the stranger’s arrival press closer to her, and as she snapped out of her thoughts, she realized he was standing right in front of her and tucking the flower into her golden locks. She held her breath, her heart suddenly hammering in her chest with the closeness of the newcomer. Closing her eyes, she could smell a cool and breezy scent coming from him. It reminded her of the sea . . . no, that wasn’t right. With his presence’s energy, he had to be a powerful being, and she knew he wasn’t Poseidon, for she had seen the God of the Sea numerous times.
Cool fingers brushed the skin of her ear and she shivered slightly, opening her eyes and looking up to see a smile on the stranger’s face. “Thank you, you are very kind.” she said softly, giving a smile of her own as she looked up at him. He was so peculiar. His smile seemed so genuine and he was so different from anyone else she had ever met on Mt. Olympus. He was sharp angles and shadows, his gaze dark and filled with hidden things in their depths. Who was he?
She reached up and tucked a stray strand of hair behind her other ear, her gaze blinking and wide as she looked up at him. “Forgive me for being nosy, but who are you and where have you come from? I don’t believe I’ve ever had the privilege of meeting you before.” she mused, smoothing down the hem of her dress as a strong gust of wind blew by and ruffled the frills and material.
(Lol that is totally how it would be in a modern retelling!!)

"Ah, so Demeter dislikes me to the point of pretending I don't exist," Hades mused, though his words were more amused than anything. The two of them had never seen eye to eye: her the goddess of harvest and fertility, and he the god of death. It was no surprise she wouldn't entertain the idea of him marrying her daughter. Maybe that was part of the reason he was so drawn to Persephone: the one he must not touch. People tend to want the things they can't have.
"I would have assumed, however, that you would have heard of me from the others up there on that mountain they call home. I'm normally spoken in tones of disdain. I am the one known as Hades, and honored am I to be in your presence on one of my rare trips to the world of mortals. You make the trip much more amiable."
He wanted to reach out and tangle his fingers in her golden locks, to freeze her smile in time so it never faded. Everything about the girl entranced him, and it was a wonder he was still able to keep his wits about him. However, he wasn't as weak as the other gods were when it came to beautiful women. He would not make the careless mistake they made when chasing after their fantasies. He would be in control every step of his plan and nothing would go wrong. No unforeseen consequences would come his way.
(XD That amuses me more than it should.)

Her eyes widened in realization. So this was Hades, the God of the Underworld, the Lord of Death, the infamous brother of Zeus and Poseidon. The very god spoken in whispers and drawn brows. The one who drew grimaces onto others’ faces when mentioned . . . and the one of the only gods she had never met. He didn’t dwell on Mt. Olympus like the others. Instead, he lived in the Underworld where he worked and maintained order. Zeus owned the sky, Poseidon ruled the sea, and Hades looked after the Underworld. So it was rare for him to be on Mt. Olympus. Now that Persephone thought about it, every time it was mentioned he was coming to a meeting on Mt. Olympus, her mother Demeter insisted she spend a day away with the nymphs or her handmaidens. Or simply stay in her room.
Now that she thought about it, why was that? Why did her mother not want her to see the God of the Underworld? Perhaps because she thought he would scare her daughter? But Hades seemed to be quite sincere and nice. . . Persephone was perplexed. Maybe Demeter simply did not like Hades, but a lot of gods and goddesses disliked each other and engaged in spats. Then again, Demeter was always awfully protective of her. All her life, Persephone had been dotted on and coddled away within safety nets and walls. Perhaps her wanderlust and curiosity was a result of all that coddling and guarding. Perhaps that was why she had always yearned for . . . more.
“I apologize for my mother’s fretting and others’ rudeness,” she said softly, looking up at him with a small frown and her emerald gaze narrowed in sympathy and concern. “I don’t understand it. You seem so kind and sincere. I don’t understand why gods and goddesses must gossip and jeer all the time.” She sighed and brushed her fingers lightly against the petals of the flower he had placed in her ear. “To be honest, sometimes I prefer the solitude in nature opposed to the company of others. Sometimes they can be so cruel and arrogant. . . But the flowers never judge, never mock.” Her heart pounded once more at his words to her. She made his visit amiable? She gave a small smile and flushed a bit, then her gaze grew warm once more as she looked up at him. ”You are welcome to stay here with the flowers and I for as long as you wish. I promise no one who judge you here.”

"You're heart is far kinder than I have ever come across," Hades commented, voice low and soft. Despite his jagged features, his voice as smooth and clear. It was a voice that could coax souls into the depths of the Underworld with little resistance, to offer false assurances to those in their last moments. He could be gentle one moment and vicious the next. The facade he displayed was one no one could tell the difference. Only few gods would be able to tell the difference in his acts, Zeus being one of them.
"I rule the realm in which people dread. I do not offer the joys of life. I do not bring forth the beauty of the world, or the promises of riches or love. I am neither a fighter nor homemaker. It is easy for other to think lesser of me when I deal with thing most unpleasant. But if I do not care for souls astray, who would?" he asked. "I do not try to claim I am reasonable, but I do think I deserve more credit than what is given. I could not see Zeus or Apollo giving up their praise to live the life I lead. That is just how fate works. The same fate that brought me from the Underworld to behold you grace in this field. I can't say my lot is the worst there is to offer."

So it was true. He was the busy, hardworking god she had always heard him to be. Some said Hades didn't come out of the Underworld very much because he was not a very social able being, while others claimed his job was very demanding. Persephone couldn’t help but shiver slightly at the deep smoothness of his voice."Your job must be very exhausting. There is always death, so you must almost never rest," she replied softly, feeling sympathy rise up in her heart and reflect in the green orbs of her eyes. "From what I've heard, it seems you almost never leave the Underworld." She chewed slightly at her lower lip, her brow furrowed. "It seems like it would be very lonely. I apologize as well as appreciate all the work you do.” She then pursed her lips in a disapproving way. ”Next time I hear anyone speak ill of you, I shall give them a scolding for being so rude.”
He was the only god in the Underworld. All the others dwelled on Mount Olympus. Persephone couldn't even begin to imagine how lonely and empty that would be. He lived in the Underworld, surrounded by death and nothing but cold things and shadows. Of course, he had ruled here for a very long time, so he must be used to it by now. But still, Persephone felt her heart ache with empathy for the isolation he must feel. “I am not as great as you’re making me out to be. I’m merely the daughter of Demeter who rarely is seen without her dotting presence or the company of handmaidens. I’m often mocked for being coddled, and I know I am.”

There was so much sincerity in her voice that it almost surprised Hades. He wasn't use to being sympathized wit. He was more accustomed to bantering and sometimes fighting with those who choose to speak with him the wrong way. Other times, he just played along or twisted the topic of discussion around in a way where the other god or goddess had no idea his replies were actually mocking them. However, in Persephone's eyes, there was no sarcasm, no hint that her words were anything but heartfelt. "I have joined the others on rare occasions, but my realm is one that cannot maintain itself. Unlike many of those on Mount Olympus, I cannot speak a word and expect every soul to seek safe passage after death. Someone has to be there. It is a monotonous life, and one of few excitements, but there is very little I can do. As for company, not everyone enjoys being in the presence of the dead." A chuckle, deep and rumbling, sounded from his chest at her next comment. "And I'm sure you will be taken with all seriousness. For the gods love to be corrected in their opinions.
"Especially your mother," he continued. "Demeter has always been the protective sort. You cannot blame her for wanting to keep something so precious safe from harm. Something so lovely and delicate must be cared for in a delicate manner least ill befall it. Take these flowers, for example." The god gestured to the brightly colored flowers surrounding them. "If no one was here to protect them, what creatures might stomp through, damaging and killing the plants that are so fragile? While they are fine on their own, they are not able to defend themselves. You will see humans walking with care as to not trample them. Someone had to teach them that these blooms couldn't withstand harsh treatment. Demeter looks after you as she does her blossoms she calls forth. As smothering as it may seem to you."
(Did any of that make any sense? XD)

Lol yeah! I understood what he meant ^^ )
“Yes, even though gods are timeless beings, they don’t have much patience or tolerance,” she sighed softly, hugging her arms closely around herself as if suddenly chilled. How lonely he must feel. She couldn’t imagine how alone it would feel in the Underworld . . . She wondered if he ever got used to the isolation, or if it was an endless, bottomless emotion. Her heart ached for him and she felt her brows furrow in empathy and then conflict as she considered his words. Delicate? Precious? Persephone didn’t feel fragile like a glass vase or a flower. She felt . . . apart from everything. She felt separated.
She loved flowers and beauty, warmth and nature. But she yearned for something new and strange. She yearned to learn more about all the world had to offer her. She lived in a world of gods and monsters and titans. She was a goddess, born of two notorious , powerful beings. If she were going to remain immortal, if she was going to ever play a role in this world, she needed to see and understand everything. She needed to experience everything instead of merely sitting comfortably in Mount Olympus, losing track of time as she gazed at flowers or dozed in springs or engaged in pointless conversations. Persephone loved her mother and her handmaidens and most of her family, but she also didn’t understand why she felt so distant from them. Demeter was a wonderful mother, but sometimes she couldn’t help but feel blocked away from the world.
“I love my mother beyond words,” she whispered, glancing down at the soft petaled flowers surrounding her bare feet. “But I am no longer a child. If I am truly an immortal, I am not so fragile that I can’t handle going out into the world. I-I know I should seal my words away . . . especially considering how isolated you must feel at least from time to time . . . but I feel so alone.” She looked up at him, her green gaze glistening and wide. “Isn’t that strange? I dwell on Mt. Olympus with my mother and Zeus and the others . . . but I feel so seperated. I feel as though I don’t truly belong here. I love visiting these meadows and the springs . . . but I can’t rest or be satisfied when I knows there’s more out there.” Her voice ached with longing, echoed softly with the rawness of it.

She listened to the God of Death and gave a small, sorrowful smile. They were different from the others, weren’t they? Perhaps they were the odd ones or the gods but . . . Persephone knew that being different was good. It may inspire feelings of isolation and loneliness, but in the end, she believed being original was important. She couldn’t quench the wanderlust bubbling inside of her, and she didn’t want to. This was who she was. Seeing the world, seeing imperfections and mysteries unfold . . . She wanted that more than anything. “We are the dark horses, aren’t we?” she said softly. Then she blinked suddenly in surprise. He could help her see more of the world?
It certainly didn’t sound impossible or strange . . . It was the fact that he sounded like he was offering her. The God of Death offering Demeter’s daughter exploration? “Really?” Persephone asked in a hushed voice. She hesitated, then took a step closer to him to peer up into his dark gaze, her heart pounding. “Why. . . Why would you do that?” They had just met and he was offering her what she wanted the most in the world? She felt so puzzled and dizzied by the possibilities being offered to her in this moment.

A chuckle came forth from his throat. "In more ways than one," Hades agreed. Of all the gods and goddess, he was certainly the darker of the lot, in both appearances and occupation. Of course, it wasn't like he had chosen this life for himself. Or maybe he had? After this many years, time seemed to blur together, fading the edges of events and meetings into one big mess.
"As for why I would make such an offer, the reason is simple. There is no love lost between Demeter and I, and you are far to lovely to be stuck in a cage to pend your days miserable," the god told her. "No doubt your mother will release all kinds of fury upon us, but even a day of exploration would be worth it, would it not? You'd be able to see what the world as to offer, and I get to linger in your glowing light for a moment more."

Her breath hitched, her lashes fluttered as she lowered her green gaze down towards her pale hands which were clutched hesitantly against her chest. She had always been taught to be cautious of strangers, and of men in particular. Demeter has always been very protective, but that was because she loved her daughter. Persephone had only just met Hades, and he seemed so sincere and familiar with the emotions she often felt that she instantly knew she could trust him. She was going to take his offer. This was her chance and she couldn’t pass it up. A large part of her wanted to see her mother before she left, but she knew Demeter wouldn’t let her go if she knew. Persephone had already made her decision, and perhaps she had even made it deep down before meeting Hades today. It was almost as if this were destiny.
Tilting her head back to look at the god before her, her eyes burning with determination and excitement, she nodded. “Take me away, Hades. Show me all there is to see.” The gentle breeze picked up a bit, whipping her long golden hair out behind her and stirring the fabrics of her violet gown. The flowers in the meadow swayed in the wind, sending various colored petals swirling past them and around them. Persephone gave a small smile, the burning in her eyes still strong. “I can’t help feeling this is what is supposed to happen. I’m glad.”

Her pale cheeks flushed a slight pink color as he kissed her hand with an almost joyful look on his face. Not exactly sure why she felt so shy all of a sudden, Persephone took note of how he looked so satisfied and eager. She wondered why that was. After all, he was the one contributing to making one of her wildest dreams come true. Perhaps he was joyful at being able to please others? Or perhaps he was excited for some company after being alone in the Underworld for quite a while? Whatever the cause of the smile on his face, Persephone found herself warmed by his enthusiasm and the brightness in his eyes. As his hand took hers and his cool lips touched her skin, a tingling sensation spread from her fingertips to her chest as the world began moving around them. Her beloved meadow became drenched in dark shadows and the glow of the sun overhead faded as the ground beneath them opened up like a gaping mouth. Perspehone’s eyes widened and she found her hand gripping Hades’s tightly to hold on as they disappeared from the world she had known her whole existence. Mother, I’m sorry . . . but I don’t want to just exist. I want to live.

In a blink of an eye, the sun and earth were gone. As Hades let go of Persephone's hand, they were now standing in the heart of the Underworld. His "throne" room to be exact. The place was as one might expect it to be: dark and foreboding. All around them was grey stone. Had it not been for the torches of blue fire scattered about, casting dancing and uncertain shadows everywhere, the room would have been in complete darkness. This was one of the more nicer areas of his realm. The farthest from where the souls of the dying would congregate and needing guiding. Furthest from the never ending wails and screams of those begging for more time or a better end.
"I do hope that I have not startled you too badly," Hades spoke, straightening his posture and gazing down at the young goddess coolly. "I should have warned you about what would happen. By now, I have grown used to it, but I forget not everyone is accustomed to entering my world."

Still slightly stunned at the sudden change in location, Persephone blinked rapidly then pressed her palms to her cheeks to ground herself. “It is quite alright. It was . . . interesting and admittedly sudden, but definitely a unique experience all the same.” She said sheepishly, a bit flustered by the suddenness of everything around her. She turned from the tall god and ran her curious gaze over the room, taking in the deep shadows and the darkness of the tone of the room. As if in a daze, she slowly began to walk around the room, pausing to stare into the blue flames of the torches on the grey stoned walls, as if they hid hushed things within their blazing hearts. This was the Underworld. She was in the Underworld. How . . . drastically different it was from the meadow they had just disappeared from, from the world she had always known above. However, Persephone had never been naive enough to believe the Underworld was lovely and full of flowers and butterflies. No, she knew it must be a sharp, dark, and cold world. Judging from this singular room, it appeared her imaginings weren’t too far off. With a narrowed, thoughtful gaze and drawn brow, she ran a fingertip over the “throne” placed in the room, feeling the cool, smoothed stone on her skin. After a long silence, she finally looked back up at Hades from across the room, a small smile teasing her lips. “I hope I have exceeded your expectations of my reaction to the Underworld, whatever they may be.”

“I’m glad it’s not what I’m used to. It’s a different world. I wouldn’t expect it to be like anything else I’ve ever seen,” Persephone glanced at him and gave a small smile. The God of the Underworld was very kind and sincere. She didn’t understand why the others jeered about him so. Well, that was immortals for you. But she could understand how some would be taken by surprise to see that the god was not the personification of his realm. Most gods were the personification of their specialty or namesake. Hades, however, seemed. . . different and mysterious. It only made her more and more curious to learn more about him and the Underworld. She tilted her head at him curiously, her green gaze gleaming as she studied him, a small amused curl on her lips. “My mother always told me that Zeus and his brothers were nothing but scoundrels, but I don’t see a scoundrel in you, Lord of the Underworld. Unless you’re hiding something from me?” Her tone held playfulness and teasing in it, her eyes lit with slight mischief.

"I'm glad that you think so. You'll be seeing a lot of it," Hades informed her. "Death has no boundaries, no territorial lines like those of mortals. My realm stretches all over. Even those who do not know of the rest of the gods, they know me. They know death. That is why I brought you here. The best way to see the world is to stay at the center of it all." Another smile lighted his face, the fire casting a blue shine against his face, making his features sharper. "I assure you, my dear, that I hide nothing from you. As long as you are here, you will be treated as a the queen you are."

She flushed a light pink color. “There you go again, uttering such . . . strange things. I’m no queen at all. My mother and father may be of high status, but I am merely Persephone. I’m merely . . . me.” She bit her lower lip and gripped the material of her dress in her hands to give them something to do. She gazed out of the window before her, taking in all of the Underworld she could see from this angle and his words, his smile. Death has no boundaries . . . An interesting notion. She tried to focus her mind on these words instead of his warm smile and surprising depiction of her.

"Well, so long as you are within my presence, you re a queen and will be treated as such," Hades informed her. And it was true. She was to be his queen, the one who would rule beside him him until the end of time. He could see that she was flustered and searching to focus on, so the god turned the conversation elsewhere. "Shall I show you around?" he asked. "I hardly see the point of leaving right after we get here, and it would be rude of me not to give you the layout of this place. One can get very turned around and end up in undesirable places if one is not careful. I do not wish for that misfortune to befall you." (So sorry that I am not replying as fast as I should!! )

It’s okay! ^^ )
Persephone had no words to reply with. She was speechless and flustered at the moment. The Lord of the Underworld gave her such praise with true sincerity—innocent sincerity at that, fore it didn’t seem that he expected anything in return for his words. He was merely speaking what he believed. Why would be call me of all goddesses a queen? What exactly does he think of me? Who does he see me as? she wondered to herself, feeling butterflies take flight in her stomach. Trying to force the redness in her cheeks back to no avail, Persephone’s emerald eyes brightened when Hades mentioned showing her about his realm. Hades was simply being kind. That’s why he had said what he said, right?
“It’s alright. I trust you to be a splendid guide,” She looked up into his sharp facial features and smiled warmly. She stepped over to his side and gently slipped her arm through his, trying to ignore the tingle that spread throughout her body when their arms touched. “I must admit, I’m very curious to see the Underworld. I would quite like a tour.”

It was difficult for him when she looped her arm with his. Hades had the overwhelming urge to just take her into his arms, but they would have not been proper. She had only just arrived, and even though she hung on his every word, things hadn't been completely solidified. The goddess could still change her opinion of him, and he would much rather have her completely devoted to him before revealing his true intentions. So, the god of death simply placed a hand over hers. "As you wish," he replied, smiling widely.
He set off out the door that was behind them, leading Persephone into a dark corridor. However, with each step they took, torches on the wall came to life in a flash of blue fire. A trail of torches sped down the path ahead of them, casting both liht and shadows over their path. "I'm afraid that there's not much to see down here," he informer her. "There are rooms for times when anyone wishes to visit, but those times are few and far between. I'm afraid that I have no carefully tended gardens for you to sit in and enjoy, no calm streams for you to sit by. It's one of the many disadvantages of being in the Underworld."
