Well here's the genetically accurate way. Feel free to ignore. There are a few ways brown cats are produced. One is the black-based tabby where the tabby gene interacts with the black fur gene to create a black(Brown) tabby. It produces cats like Tigerstar and Bramblestar. Then there's the chocolate gene which is recessive to the black gene. If Rainflower has a copy and Shellheart has another copy both Crookedstar and Oakheart can be lilac(Diluted chocolate; Crookedstar) and chocolate(Oakheart). The last way is if Rainflower and Shellheart both carry cinnamon. Crookedstar would be fawn(Diluted cinnamon) and Oakheart can be cinnamon which actually matches his "reddish-brown" canon appearance pretty well. Hope this was clear enough, I'm not the best at explaining things.

Ashfoot was chosen to be deputy because of her commitment to her Clan and her lack of personal ambition to be leader. She maintains this objective loyalty even when Onestar himself loses it, and probably would've done the same thing Harespring did with the coltsfoot plants if she hadn't died. Very much like.
I'm fine with Deadfoot being her mate, personally.

Yeah I think it's official Deadfoot's her mate.
I like Ashfoot, she's cool. My only issue is that she was already sort of old when made deputy, extra hecking hold at the time of her death and yet isn't acknowledged as being too old for battle(from my memory) unlike Russetfur. This isn't really a character matter just something that has been bugging me.

I wasn't even aware that Su had put her in the Dark Forest until now. I don't really keep up with Sudocanon.
Yes, I'm very proud of myself for that term.
I really don't understand why Brightflower would go to the Dark Forest. She was driven mad by grief and wasn't able to listen to reason. The worst thing she did was get mad at her daughter for about two minutes, and we weren't given a chance to see how she might have changed that view later on for obvious reasons.
I wouldn't say I like her, but... Dark Forest? What? So, in-between.
