Please comment about this as a PM, not on the thread. The title is a work in progress. The Allegiances and blurb are down below. Other Warrior cat fanfics are to be put up soon, so if you like this one check out the others when they are posted or if you don't like this one check out the others anyway, you may like them better. Enjoy! -Smoky/ Smokefern of SC.
Blurb: (This story is set during AVoS)
Shadows cloud judgement But the light dawns through...
Shadowkit did not know the strange world that his parents Tigerheart and Dovewing had grown up in. He wasn't ambitious to be a warrior, to scout the forest for prey and to defend his clan and territory at all costs. He just wanted to return to his home: the old church as the cats who lived there called it. That was all gone now, so what else was there, or whom? Clouds of judgement push Shadowkit to his limit and suddenly,
an opportunity arises right at his paws. Shadowkit was then on the move. Through surging storms, betrayals and manipulations. Nothing would break him. He was on the path the stars had laid out for him (or so he thought.) What could go wrong?
Allegiances: (will be put up later)

I wrote the prologue out and saved it, well stupid forms lost it so I guess i'm trying again. Well, here we go.
Prologue:
The pine trees glimmered in the faint moonlight. A thick cloud of mist inglufed them, turning them almost black. A tall brown and white tom sat, gazing at the couple stars that dotted the sky. He sighed, his blue eyes heavy. The bushes behind him rattled and shook, the tom spun around almost instantly.
"Who-who's there?" He called warily, scanning the dark bushes for lifeforms. The bushes shook violently now, and a dark, sleek figure stepped out, surronded by mist. "Show yourself!" The tom hissed. "I'm not afraid to use these!" He slid out his claws, though his voice held uncertainty. The sleek figure loomed out of the shadows. The tom sighes a sigh of relief when he realized whom he was adressing. The figure, a calico she-cat laughed, her voice crackled with age. "Ah, Tawnypelt." Puddleshine at once relaxed, the fur on his back lying flat once again. "What are you doing here?" He asked, his voice full of concern. "I was looking for you." She told him, averting his gaze.
"Why, what's wrong? Do your joint's ache again?" The medicine cat's voice held concern, a slight fear scent mingled in as well. Tawnypelt had regular joint problems contributing to her elderly age. Puddleshine figured she would move to the elder's den soon enough. Tawnypelt shook her head, her eyes lost in thought. "I-I had a vision." She confessed. Puddleshine, flattened his ears, taken aback.
Puddleshine fought back the anticipation rising in his belly as Tawnypelt spoke.
"I was in a forest, and I could hear and smell someone but couldn't see them." She started. "Then-then the trees, uh, they were pines was covered in a large, dark, stocky shadow. It practically ingulfed them whole!" She meowed, frightened, her eyes dull. "Then the next thing I know it, The pines are slightly burned and the shadow has taken the form of a cat!"
Puddleshine quivered, shock and fear sinking to the depths of his stomach. Tawnypelt searched him for an answer with a blank gaze, though the frightened tom gave none.
Burning pines? How could anyone imagine Shadowclan's beautiful forest burning?
Tawnypelt's eye's held confusion in her old age. Frankly, Puddleshine wanted to bury the what seemed like a prophecy in the depths of the earth, never to be seen again. Puddleshine gazed at Tawnypelt and meowed, "I-I need more time to think this over. Thank you for sharing it with me though." He said thankfully.
"Let's get back to camp, it's almost dawn and I need to think your dream over a bit." He rested his tail on the frail cat's shoulder's leading her through the forest as the dawn light slid over the horizon.
But as they made their way back to camp, Puddleshine was sure he saw from the corner of his eye, the burning pines and shadow being extingushed by a brilliant beam of light.
Ok so I've got to admit, not my best prologue and very sketchy but hey, good for now I guess.

Chapter 1
Geez I probably should update the allegiances but, eh…
Anyway…
Shadowpaw crawled out of the nursery, his back arched in a yawn. The leaves overhead him rustled and he gazed up at the sky, it was cloudy. The sky reflected a past storm, one that Shadowpaw rather forget. He gazed around the clearing and hesitated as rain started to hail from the sky.
Ahh great. Shadowpaw thought. Figures we get a storm one day and one the next day.
Shadowpaw moaned. He meowed his goodbye to Snowbird, for Conekit had a cold that he had just treated. Shadowpaw scurried to the medicine den, licking his fur hastly once inside. Shadowpaw was Puddleshine's new apprentice. This was only his fifth day on the job and his mentor had already taught him how to cure common kit cold. Shadowpaw learned the herb names quickly, eager to impress not only his mentor but his father aswell. His father was the leader of Shadowclan, Tigerstar. He had recently been made it's leader after the death of his father, Rowanstar, once returning from the welcoming Gurdian cat sanctuary, where Shadowpaw and his two sisters, Lightpaw and Pouncepaw had been born. Puddleshine prodded Shadowpaw with a paw, snapping him back into reality instantly. Puddleshine looked annoyed. Shadowpaw smiled a wary smile. Puddleshine sighed, realizing his apprentice had no idea what was going on. "Shadowpaw, listen please." Puddleshine started bluntly, "you need to go check on Juniperclaw's sore paw." Puddleshine's normally calm eyes held a tinge of frustration. "Yes, um, sorry, I'll get to it right now." Shadowpaw meowed quickly before racing to the warriors den.
"Juniperclaw? You in here?" Shadowpaw called, scanning the den for the black tom. "He's not in here." A voice told him. Shadowpaw took a step forward into the dimmed lit den, and recognized the voice as Whorlpelt's. The new warrior lay curled up at the far side of the den. His blue eyes glimmered slightly in the light that broke through the den's roof. Shadowpaw tilted his head to the side, ears pricked. "Then where is he, I need to check his paw." Whorlpelt sat up and streached, his tail fluffed up to twice it's regular size. Whorlpelt sat, tail over paws, eyes gazed intently on Shadowpaw. "He went to check the Skyclan border." He meowed simply.
"In this pouring rain?" Shadowpaw questioned. Whorlpelt shrugged, "He left before the storm started." He stated before curling back up into a ball. "Can you atleast call me when he gets back?" Shadowpaw asked, curious if Whorlpelt had fallen asleep, for he was not very responsive. "Ya, sure, why not?" Whorlpelt mumbled before curling up tighter. Knowing the warrior would be of no help, Shadowpaw padded back to the medicine den and reported what he had heard to Puddleshine.
Puddleshine just told him he would take care of it when Juniperclaw got back and not to worry.
What a relief. Shadowpaw thought, racing over to the fresh-kill pile. He yanked out a frog for himself and leiserly walked over to the apprentice den, and plopped down into his nest. He ate in silence but was soon interuppted by his sisters, Lightpaw and Pouncepaw. The two rather energetic she-cats slugged over to him and fell into their nests, their pelts dripping with rain water. "Ha! Are you two Riverclan cats because you certainly look like them!" Shadowpaw snickered. His sisters eyed him, but turned their backs, too exhausted to argue. So much for joking with those two. Shadowpaw thought frustratedly. Lightpaw plopped up her head, her fur still dripping. "Hey, Shadowpaw guess what?" Lightpaw meowed. "What?" Shadowpaw tilted his head, confused and intrigued.
Suddenly, Lightpaw shook out her fur, spraying water upon Shadowpaw and soaking him. "Guess who's Riverclan now?" Lightpaw laughed, flying onto her back, her hind legs sprawling in her laughter. "Ok, I deserved that." Shadowpaw admitted, licking Lightpaw's flank before settling down.
The moon began to show in the night sky, Shadowpaw stared at it, huge in all it's glory, flaked on either side by his sisters.
Thank you, Starclan. Thank you for giving me my sisters, because I don't think I would survive without them.

Chapter 2
Shadowpaw shivered. The cold brushed his pelt turning him frozen. Lightpaw was still curled up along side him, however, Pouncepaw was nowhere to be seen. Shadowpaw nudged Lightpaw softly, her fur felt cold.
Lightpaw raised her head, her eyes dreary. "Huh, what?" She asked groggy. "You probably should get going for training." He warned her. "You don't want to be late for-" Lightpaw jumped to her paws immediately, as if she had been awake the whole time. Giving her fur a quick lick, she raced out of the den and yelled, "Thanks Shadowpaw!" Shadowpaw flicked his ear and nodded.
Being still tired himself, Shadowpaw lazily sorted through the herbs piled in Puddleshine's den. A majority of them were soggy so he tossed them out, huffing at the fact so many herbs were wasted by rain water. Puddleshine walked into the den, studying the herb piles through narrowed eyes. His pelt, Shadowpaw noticed was soaked, and water dripped off of his whiskers onto the delicate, fragile, herbs. "Watch it!" Shadowpaw hissed, shielding the herbs with a paw. "Your getting them all wet and then we'll have to go and restock in the rain!" Puddleshine stepped back, shocked at his apprentice's tone. They both were silent for a mere couple of seconds until Puddleshine let out a long laugh, nearly falling over. Shadowpaw stood shocked at his mentor. "I've never seen you this keen in protecting the herbs." Puddleshine meowed after regaining himself. "Ya well I've never seen you laugh like that." Shadowpaw retorted, his face showed a small smirk. Puddleshine flicked his tail in content, and meowed, "You might want to go restock herbs while I dry off. The rain has stopped." The mottled brown and white tom flickered his tail to the outside, where as he had said, the rain had diminished. However a few drops still dripped off the leaves outside. Shadowpaw nodded in agreement, and before heading out, shoved the herb piles to the side.
Shadowpaw raced into the clearing, the sun was shining through a small crack in the clouds above. It basked on Shadowpaw's back, and he purred in content.
Shadowpaw padded through the pine forest, the dark was welcoming and pleasant.
So I'm collecting marigold and juniper berries?
Shadowpaw tried to remember. Well marigold is by the camp, so I'll go there first. He told himself. Shadowpaw trudged through the marshland, mud covering his legs up to his belly. Ick, I'll never get this off! He reckoned. As he came to a small clearing, he could make out the marigold he had been searching for, grabbing a bunch in his jaws, he padded tail high, away.
Shadowpaw stopped, ears pricked. He was half way to the juniper berries which were by the Skyclan border when he heard an odd sound. Crouching to the ground, he moved forward, being careful to hid himself in the dim lighting of the pine forest. The mud had well camoflaged him, so if anything was around here, it couldn't see the small apprentice. Eyes narrowed, Shadowpaw caught a glimpse of a tall figure through the bushes. The sweet scent made Shadowpaw sneeze, and immediately, he was exposed, and the tall figure was looming right over him.

Chapter 3
Shadowpaw fought to keep his breathing steady. The looming figure held him down, one paw over his chest, the other on his mouth. "Don't fight it!" The cat hissed softly. A beam of sunlight shot through the pine tree follage and glimmered on the cat's back. Shadowpaw froze. The cat, a she-cat infact was a brownish color, her blue eyes sparkled and held his gaze, a curious look ingulfing it. She reached out her muzzle and sniffed his pelt, and taking in a whiff of it, she cringed and her muzzle wrinkled in disgust. "Uh! You're Shadowclan!" She hissed, still trying to erase the screwed look on her face. Shadowpaw looked away, hurt by the harsh words. His pelt prickled with unease, suddenly scared of what the she-cat was to do to him. He stared at the she-cat intently. Her slim figure and neat pelt awed him, and her honey scent realed him in even further. He stopped himself from being lost in the pools of her eye's. "Oh, sorry." She meowed, saddened. "I apoligize for being so rude, see I'm not used to being around other clan cats and-" Shadowpaw shook his head the best he could, trying to get across her that it was ok. "Anyway, I'm Frecklewish!" She told him happily, removing her grip on his belly, and gently taking her other forepaw off his mouth. "I'm the Skyclan medicine cat." Shadowpaw pricked his ears, his tail swaying. Frecklewish tilted her head, her blue eyes giving him a confused look. "Who are you, and what are you doing out here?" She asked, sitting down by a hedge, pine tree needles scattered around her. "I-I'm Shadow-" "You look no more than a kit out of the nursery!" She interrupted, gazing at him, her eyes held worry. "I'm Shadowpaw." He grumbled, eyes narrowed. "Oh, sorry." Frecklewish gazed at the groun blankly. "It's fine." He promised, smiling a weak smile. "I'm Puddleshine's apprentice." He meowed, flicking his tail to the rhythm of the breeze. "Hmm." She meowed thoughtfully. "Interesting."
