ayy I think I've decided I want my character to get their powers a little before the rp begins so they're fairly new to them/ there's a learning curve question tho, where should they be running from?

neat, that'll be fun ^^ also do u wanna post any descriptions for our characters? i was gonna write up something short n sweet just so you can get a lil more familiar with mine. my kiddo's gonna be a girl named jude rivera-carvajal, & she can manipulate fire n such.
mmm i had the idea that mine is already on the run right off the bat for something really bad, like burning down a building with people inside by accident, or something similar in seriousness. & she just somehow stumbles onto your char who has to run from being discovered. it could be that whole witch hunting type society, where mutants are required to hide from the public's eye ? a little stereotypical but still fun

yeah! i'll work on a description (it might get a little long but i'll try and keep it short). I'm having a little trouble coming up with a power for my character, i was thinking the power should be something that would be noticeable and cause them to have to go on the run but also able to cover up? idk i'll have to think about it some more c":
i like that idea! people could blame mutants for a lot of things/ having an edge over everyone else and be a little scared of them
sorry for the slow replies ^^"

its all good dude ye ! maybe it could be some kind of shapeshifting type thing gone awry ?? hmm whatever sounds fun tbh lmao i'll get a character description up for my gal soon then c: i'll try to keep it short but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ yknow how that goes having that kind of setting makes it fun even if its overused a lil tbh. gives good incentive for our characters to take action & keeps it all moving along. plus that whole 'hunted down by the govt' stuff is always a fun trope

that's a good idea! I'll have mine up in a it too c: ye i totally get it, long or short works for me ! i like to know a lot about characters lol i usually lean towards overused plots, just cause that means there's less that we have to plan out it's more fun and spur of the moment? if that makes sense c":

here she is! i tried to keep it as not lengthy as possible aha
jude rivera-carvajal, 19, cuban-american. //
- fiery in every aspect, jude is 5'7, with burning ginger red hair and warm golden skin. freckled from her days in the sun, with some lean muscle and a mean look in her eye, she's intimidating for any first impressions. jude could be described as the embodiment of "you're my punk rock dream come true!" a lyric from p.r.d.c.t by bratmobile. very punk, full of attitude, 'sticking it to the man' mentality, but in the true spirit of it instead of the appearance-obsessed faux-cool posers in the punk rock scene. the anti-bigotry message of punk rock and riot grrl resonates with jude, majorly because she is a mutant. since early childhood, jude has had the ability to manipulate fire. her abilities are both an inward and outward manifestation - controlled by her flighty anger issues, her fire manifests in her physical body through signs of her skin burning hot to the touch, exhaling smoke like a chimney stack, and her hair burning. outwardly, she is able to create combustion, fire in her hands, breathing fire if she so desires. it's a physically exhausting ability for the gal, and despite years of being familiar with it, jude is dictated by her emotions and so her powers are as well. she can be volatile, a stick of dynamite lit from both ends, ready to explode at any moment's notice. jude is extremely dangerous due to this.

if you could start that'd be great c: I finished my character finally, I haven't developed her personality a ton but i was hoping to do that through the rp if that's cool
Ryan Moore – 18 – Female Ryan has always been able to blend in a crowd; ever since she was young she liked to remain out of the spotlight. She’s 5’4” with plain dark brown hair, a pale complexion, freckles, and a fairly scrawny figure. Not someone you’d spot easily. Every now and then she will dye her hair, but usually nothing bright. She does have bright green eyes that can appear yellow in some lighting, but that’s about as far as her unique traits go. She has a heart shaped face with short hair that can frame her face well if her hair wasn’t a disaster. Since the beginning of high school her hair’s been a mess. It starts out nice and straight (sometimes wavy and frizzy if she doesn’t bother to straighten it), but slowly throughout the day it loses its neatness and grows frizzy, almost as if she was shocked by electricity. When she gets angry her hair tends do this most (I sorta imagine it like how Ghibli characters have their hair move when they get mad), occasionally sparks will even run through her hair. It wasn’t noticeable for a long time, not until her senior year. It was then she began to notice strange things. She started to wear hats, particularly beanies, to try and cover it up. She wanted a normal life desperately and would fight for it at all costs; all she wanted was to be a photographer. After graduating Ryan’s mutant abilities grew worse and harder to control. She even fried a register at the flower shop she’d managed to get a job at. Ryan’s attempts to suppress her abilities haven’t worked well either, whenever a spark is near her and she tries desperately to keep it away from her, she ends up burned. She’s riddled with small marks of her failures to control it. Ryan’s the type to suppress everything, to keep everything in and tell no one her struggles. When she gets mad she doesn’t say anything, but instead lets her anger brew. She tries to use logic first and foremost, and then considers everything else. She’s bad at communication, and tends to give herself headaches when she worries too much.
